KG is probably the most underrated player in NBA history. From about 2001-2005, he was the best player in the NBA. When he got to the Celtics he was still very good, but he chose to play a more complimentary role. However, games like the one posted above shows how talented KG really was. He was a defensive juggernaut. I mean, he controlled everything from under the basket to out to the arc. He could shoot jump shots like a guard. He was a great passer. He could run the floor like a gazelle. He had a very high basketball IQ. And he made great outlet passes. What more could you want from a player? If Cassell had not gotten injured in 2004, if KG had not gotten injured in 2009, and if Perkins had not gotten injured in 2010, then KG probably would have 4 titles instead of only one. If I had to pick an all time starting five it would be- Russell Westbrook at 1, Michael Jordan at 2, LeBron James at 3, KG at 4, and Hakeem Oulajuwon at 5 (or maybe a prime Shaq.) The team just mentioned would be so smart, skilled, and athletic, no other five in NBA history could probably beat them (taken into account that all players are in their primes.) Even though this team would not be a great 3 point shooting team, it would not matter because their defense would be crazy good, and they would score with ease.
You can't go wrong with either one in terms of a fantasy pick. KG was more athletic but Duncan was more fundamental. I think in terms of head-to-head matchups KG usually got the better of Duncan because he was more athletic and just as long.
Duncan was stronger though. Had better post moves. Which is why he took way less jump shots even though he was capable of making them. Two different style of play but both kg and td so dominant offensively and defensively.
David Robinson was old and injured at this point. Td was the best player on the team starting his rookie year. Pop and the spurs won nothing before him and will continue to win nothing without him.
@Wilt Chamberlain GOD of NBA wtf you talkin bout? Talkin out your ass clearly. Duncan>garnett and is a top 10 player of all time. Garnett ain't even top 20.
Carl De Leon in terms of overall skill as a player, garnet is better. As much as i love dirk, he's a one dimensional player. All offense no defense. Good shooter but that's about it. Duncan > Garnett > Dirk.
+Ernesto Hendrix in terms of overall post game, Duncan had more. He dominated the post because of his reliability, consistency, and clutch. Garnett specialized more on mobility, which involved some post. Garnett could go post but he relied more on athleticism in the post compared to Duncan's post game. Duncan used more footwork and positioning than athleticism. All in all it really comes down to what your team needs in either power forward, both specialized in an aspect the other didn't. Both had great perimeter shooting, KG just used it more.
Two of the best PF's of their generation, but 2 all time NBA greats.
man these were some crazy battles. Could you do more of these videos KG/Duncan battles, I enjoy the contrast in styles

I just love the matchups/battles between these two. Very entertaining to watch
thanks for posting this!
Duncan was a more dominant player but garnett was more talented and versatile in different aspects of the game

KG could also guard the perimeter with his athleticism
Kg lasted as long as he did cuz he didn't solely rely on his athleticism he was very fundamentally sound
IF You're gonna be 7 FEET TALL, at LEAST learn how to play like either one of these two..
7:07 for a massive Tim Duncan slam on Rasho Nesterovic.
1on1 KG>duncan
Easy money
Lol one of the broadcasters sounds lik Zap Brannigan from Futurama
just watch how ass was minnesota lineup and how good was san antonios one

@@kylemonsterdrywallfistbump5948 bro they needed him to win td never had to carry a team like kg
@@Suge8263 you say that like kg ever carried a team to a ring. Kg didn't didn't win sqaut until he played 2nd fiddle to paul pierce. Duncan>garnett
@Wilt Chamberlain GOD of NBA wtf you talkin bout? Talkin out your ass clearly. Duncan>garnett and is a top 10 player of all time. Garnett ain't even top 20.
@@kylemonsterdrywallfistbump5948 bro its ok td is great but i can't say he better than kg
Prime KG > Prime Duncan
Duncan had better teammates because of better leadership. That's all.
Huh how about front office
Even lebron called timmy the best pf to play the game
So but kg is better
Black Shades Johnny Cage How? Tim’s accolades speak for themselves.
duncan is better than kg, kg has no low post move more on jump shot, unlike duncan he has low post and perimeter shooting.
So kg is better than nowitzki?

+joie belle Not true. KG also has low post and perimeter shooting. look at his highlights
+Carl De Leon of course
