It was "old vs new" as the 39-year old Karl Malone battled 26-year old Kevin Garnett. Garnett scored a game-high 34 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 6 assists on 13-22 shooting. Karl Malone scored 28 points and added 9 rebounds and 6 assists on 10-14 shooting as the Utah Jazz defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-97.
The Jazz improved to 32-21 on the 2002-03 season while the T-Wolves fell to 33-21.
