Thanks so much for this video! I’m pretty good at creating links to other items but I didn’t know about the section and shop links. A very easy to follow explanation. Having an actual shop to demonstrate with is such a good idea. 👍🏻
I don't think many people even look at the description, much less scroll all the way down. But I trust your judgement so I'm doing this right now for all my listings.
Hi! I am trying to add sections to my shop, but I don't have the option to organize my sections, and I am not sure why. If you could assist at all that would be great! Great video!
Hi to move your sections up and down, click on manage sections in Shop Manager on the right hand side, then when open drag your sections up and down to arrange them! I will film a video on this.
Just curious what’s your thoughts on selling photography on Etsy. I don’t mean prints but for customers to buy digital downloads either individually or as a bundle of six for example🤔 Cheers

Boy, do I see that I need to add these links. Sections I’ve had for years but I wasn’t adding the active links to the section and the home page. I will start doing this to my 300+ listings. Thank you. I guess I knew this but needed to see just how it’s done and that’s what you have done in this demo.
Thank you for all the good information. Now to change the subject, you said you made sea glass before. well, I did years ago and it turned out fine, but now its a disaster, and I don't know what I am doing different. Its from wine bottles and most pieces are curved, and the ones that aren't have really weird shapes. They are also dull. Do you have any tips? I am also wondering how I can dye the white glass to any color I want. Can I put food coloring in the tumbler? I am also going to buy tile clippers.
Hi there thanks for your comment. It's hard to comment without seeing your store. Feel free to book a consultation so I can help you further. etsy-consultant.com/services/
I’ve done the Sections for most of my listings where applicable, but I’ve not done the Section or Store Front links. I will now though. Speaking of Descriptions, have you gone over what else should be in there? I do POD and I have the product details and care instructions for the shirts I use, preceded by a little information about what the design is, and what it represents, in either a serious or funny manner. I’m just not sure if I’m using the section in the best way.
I've just created sections for the things I've yet to design 👍 I do wish the Etsy description field would allow for basic html tags.. or does it already 🤔 in any case a simple text editor tool bar..
Appreciate your tutorials! Quick question, can you rename sections or delete them. When I started I created sections that are no longer relevant to my store. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I have a question about duplicating listings to put in more than one category. Do you simply duplicate it, or do you have to change the listing description/photos/tags to do this? I know I need to do this with some of my listings, but I'm scared to try anything like that since Etsy is shutting down shops arbitrarily these days.
Also, want to thank you for pointing this out. I was using sections, but after your video, I found they were very "messy". I'm going to do an overhaul! I think I do need to duplicate some listings. The reminder itself was great to have.
@@etsyconsultant Thanks. You actually did answer my question about selling digital photography. As you mentioned, it would rely heavily on the subject matter. I’ll be taking your other advice of listing just one image per day for the algorithm. I guess to it’s a numbers game🤔 Cheers
I knew about the store link, but not the section link. Thank you Nick for the hint. I can now add both links to the descriptions, as you suggest. Greetings from France 😊
Thanks for sharing this, at the back of my mind I knew this but I haven't ever done it. Quick question, when adding your store link could you add you share and save link and be eligible for the savings, however small? Also on a more serious note, how is your computer not burning up with all those tabs open in Chrome?? 🙂
Is that your own chrome extension Nick? If so, was you thinking about any other? To the sections and linking, I did this to my old listings long time ago and think I do not have linking on any items just now. Will try to add links to all of my listings soon. I am currently on 64 listing just now, heading for 100 listings. But won't stop there! :D I am woodworking business so it takes quite some time to scale numbers.
I notice you are using the old version of the edit page. I do as well. I could only image the amount of money Etsy waisted trying to update the look of the editing page.
hey, i have a question and i'm hoping to get a reply. i recently started doing POD after opening my store back in dec/nov. however, i'm located in asia, and most printify providers are from the US. i've heard some people on tiktok saying that they change their store location to the US because customers cancel their orders after finding out their order is not shipping from the US. what do you think i should do?

Would you not strip out the ‘seller platform’ - since this link is the one you as the shop owner would click. It would be better to either strip out this as you want the link to be attributed to a buyer browsing, not the shop owner.
@@etsyconsultant - The links are different for a seller and a buyer. So if you are logged in as a seller and click on your ‘sections’ it’s not the same url that a buyer would use if they clicked on your sections. I don’t know if they monitor the link click or the resulting url. 🤷♀️
I'm helping my wife build her Etsy shop & have been using your videos over the last few months, this one is excellent. Keep up the great work.
Awesome! Thank you!
I wish Etsy gave the option to put a listing into multiple sections without having to create a duplicate listing
Yes it is so frustrating Jenny, I totally agree.

Yes, we have to just put everything that matters nearer the top, some definitely don't read the descriptions at all.
Thank you so much for this, will be adding links and sections today❤
Wonderful!

I will definitely do this setting in my store.

You have more tabs open in Chrome than I do and I thought I had a lot 🤣 Thank for this, it's very helpful.
Hi Clare, yes my screen is always full lol. Thank you for watching and support!
Could you do videos on how to leverage the different social media? that'd be so useful
Hi, I don't advise using social media for traffic to your Etsy store, please watch the video below:

Yes I will. I believe I’m going to separate my Halloween into the Halloween niches to make it easier instead of all under Halloween
That's a great idea!
Is it better to use a bitly short link or is there a reason to leave the full view of the section ID link?
Just for trust.
i have done the setting on all my listings.
Perfect!

Hi, no, the link needs to be shared outside Etsy. Fortunately I have a very fast PC!
Thanks so much Nic.

What’s the tool you’re using that shows you the tags for a listing?
Etsy Taggz

Hi, yes it is. I am in the process of making something new, I will announce it when it's complete!
can I also add a link to my Pattern store or just within the actual etsy shop.
I notice you are using the old version of the edit page. I do as well. I could only image the amount of money Etsy waisted trying to update the look of the editing page.
Me too it’s crazy and I don’t like change 😂 I prefer the original

Me too.

Hi, you need to put your location where you live, putting a foreign location runs the risk of your store being suspended.
We've been doing all of these things in our store for almost a year now, but still very low views and sales.

I had figured out how to do this right off. What I can't figure out is how to delete or rename a section.
@@witchycraftsbyKJ It's in the same place as where you create the sections.

Not sure what you mean here.
Hi Nik! I am curious why you don't use your real store.
Hi! It's because it sends a huge amount of non purchasing traffic to my store and it kills my conversion rate.

Good tip.. Thank you. I'm going to do this. I have a store link already but didn't know about the section link possibility👍🏼

Why are they calling them Sections & not Categories?
Sections are in your store, Categories are Etsy's Taxonomy list for where to put your products in it's system.
Thank you so much
My pleasure!
I wish Etsy finally let me translate Sections into French, their translations suck!
French subtitles are missing please. Thanks Nick!
I will look into it, they should auto populate.
