- I've had this CRF230F for a couple of years now. It mostly just got used as a workhorse, being used to leap-frog around on group rides to get videos and pictures of those rides. Now, it is getting a whole new lease on life...

The quintessential Brazilian dirt bike
I'm building a 230F right now. not a budget build. Almost done. It's going to be sweet.
I still have my crf230 set up with super capacitors, still working from years ago when I made that video haha. Those bikes rock I don't care what anyone says. I just need a new clutch for mine, it's had a very rough life at Wellsville. I've always loved your channel because of what you have done with the 230 and although I now also have a xr400r now I still love that bike especially the 6 speed transmission. Frickin Jim's friggin adventures shall continue even if the names different now ;) keep kicking ass my friend!
The CRF230F is way underrated. Go get 'em!
Here in Brazil you find a crf in every house, i know 13 guys that do trails ans 11 of them have an crf 230
Amazing footage! I've been wanting to get a 230 and rock it out! I'm convinced it will make a great single track machine. Looking forward to the build videos and will donate asap!
Hell yeah! Time for us to step up and help this man out! I've been looking forward to supporting your next step into madness - and another 24 hours at GH qualifies for sure. I just became a sponsor and will be stoked watching these upcoming episodes knowing I'm helping to make it happen. Thanks for the chance to be a part of your race!
Back in the day my dad bought a 2008 CRF230F to ride with his brothers... I was only 8. Nowadays we ride enduro together and he still has the bike, stock settings! Im riding the 250 since 2017 and both are absolute tanks!!!
Real stoked to see another bike build!! Keep up the awesome content 🤙🏻
I'm so glad you have content on the way, super excited to see you race this thing at Glenn Hellen!
So excited!!! These video’s seriously keep me motivated. Good luck in LA and Maryland buddy
I love my 230!! That’s my baby! Little thing rips, jumps, and does what it needs to do.
I’ve been working on hovering my crf230 all of the love it truly deserves. It’s such a great bike that deserves so much credit
That’s awesome! Good luck my dude!
Awesome to see you take another swing at Glen Helen 24 hours. I feel like the crf230f is the perfect level up from the dr200 where it has low chances of exploding and being comfortable the whole time. Best of luck on your work trips and can't wait to see more!
This is an awesome trailer, can’t wait for all this footage
Super excited for this one. I have a 230f as a kick around bike and absolutely love it.
Love your videos happy to help out a little 🙂
10/10 looking forward to the series
Hi! Thanks for a awesome channel! Looks like you are ready for Gotland Grand National 2023! 😀 (The worlds biggest enduro race) I could hook you up with something nicely challenging to ride and nice accomodation. On the beautiful Island og Gotland Sweden. Keep it up!!
Love your videos. Keep up the good work. You mentioned that the 600 needed a top end? Any plans for that bike?
Awesome! look forward to trying to hang with you out there in the Ironman Class!
Love your Couch to Glen Helen series! Good luck trying to keep up with Gabe!
That was some sick riding! 😳
Can’t wait!
Can't wait!
This is just what I'm looking for I bought an 06 CRF 230 a year ago and it has been awesome now I'm ready to to start modding it
It's my first bike it has been real easy to learn with it's fast but not too fast
Really looking forward to another crf230 build
wow looking forward to that
If you want a good lightbar for the night part of the race get a LOTTworx light bar, they make them for the 230 and my riding group nicknamed it the sun for how bright it is and it illuminates perfectly up to about 250 to 300 ft.
I now own an 89 xr250r and an 01 kdx200 because of you.
The CRF230f is a lot of fun on tight single track.
Dude. Yes. Let's go.
hell yeah, more 24h kickassery !
You absolutely have to try the engines only exhaust pipe! Frank Nye is THE GURU of air cooled lower rpm engines. ( 8-9k versus 12k for water cooled moto 4 strokes)
The dr200 video was epic. I’m this will be too
Modded my crf230f, and pretty happy with the results. Swapped a lithium ion battery, rejetted the carb, did the renthal 428 chain/spocket swap, BBR ignition box, uncorked the factory muffler, and ground down the huge restrictive weld in the head pipe. The thing now actually has some balls! But the stock suspension is garbage. Just…awful. But the fun factor has definitely gone way up. Gotta upgrade the suspension though, it just kills the bike on knarley trails.
The 230 that's going to be a good Challenge for a air cool bike you can do it
I started on a crf230f, I now ride a 1994 cr250r that I rebuilt from scratch
Yay more love with the CRF 230F! So if this one is "all stock" then it must be a different bike than the one you did all those mods to? Like, you did everything in the world to the old bike. You must have got another one... Can't wait to see what you do to this one. I miss my 2003 CRF 230F, that was such a fun and versatile bike. And reliable as the sunrise.
Yup! This one *was* an unmolested 2003 model. My totally built out one was a 2008 model. Now this one is a tastefully-budget-built endurance racer!
@@TortureTestMagazine Tasteful, budget, and race-friendly mods...Hmm, Besides the controls/bars like you've already done, I'd probably have to go with some Race Tech Gold Valve emulators for the forks and a Hagon rear shock :) And my favorite cheap tires: A set (front and back) of those Tusk Hybrid Gummies.
I love e your vids you have to start to post more
Is there also a place to buy some real estate to add sponsor stickers like last time?
Too bad that ho da got rid of them. But they made a crf250f. Which was kind of weird they could of at least changed the crf250x and made it better like a better clutch and stuff. But have fun in Maryland it’s beautiful out there but it gets a little cold. Take care!
In Brazil this is the most known dirt bike, we have 1 crf for habitant, this bike is a plague
My first “big bike” was a ttr230
Same bike just a yammie, some say the Honda is tuned a little hotter, I got a opened up air box and big Jetts in it. There’s nothing wrong with. Perfect trail bike, back up bike, loaner bike for a newbie. Not a damn thing wrong with a 230 especially when you de-cork em they run like hell. Still no 250f motocrosser. But damn they are fun little machines.
More content? Whatever bike it takes!
Rode one for a week in Kamloops. BC and found the clutch was the weak spot, it wouldn't take any slipping of the clutch. If you find a better clutch, post it, and I might buy an F.
please try the crf 250 F
Man... I'm almost done with my 1983 Honda XL600R build and I need a "I ♥️ KTM Tears" sticker but I don't see any. How am I supposed to rub it in on a 40-year-old machine in full gear? Decals please!
I just went to your website to donate $50 to the 230 Race Bike Build but there was no link to donate to that project. On the bike build page it currently says time has run out...
Gabe, another 24? Solo? I'm worried about your health.
I'm worried about the other guys' health 😏
Hell yea
Do the Baja 1000 next
Dirty 230!! 😁
New racing class: SUPERPIT BIKE. 200-240cc only.
Affordable fun.
The 230 makes a good race bike. Here in India, a proper dirt bike costs way too much, almost every motocross/rally guy here uses CRF 230 engine swapped Hero Impulse (rebadged Honda NXR 150).
Those are promotional stuff not real rallys.
@@nikhilarolla7643 how?
230 advantages are
Lightweight motor
Easy to manage power
No radiators less weight
Reliable easy maintenance
Torque low end power.
FUCKING SICK
👍
Air cooled FTW
Nice!!! I’ve been building and racing my 230F.
25 pounds of weight reduction, see it on RUclips: the “Low Buck Garage”.
@Torture Test Magazine....
Baja Trail rider the 70+ year old from ThumperTalk converted 230F riders to XR250R forks. Later he converted those who listened to XR400 forks. BEWARE of the GERIATRIC riders in TT forum.
The 230 will definitely do 24hrs, sorry to say you will be the weak link. The 230 is a tractor. I loved hitting the trails on mine.
fark yeahhhhh
I hate the 230 just because of the engine size it's such an ugly number 250 awesome 200 great 225 great too 230 barf
they should have called it a 225. its only a 223cc motor
@@Steinerrides your kidding we didn't even get the extra 7cc
230 seems to be a common size for dirt bikes. TTR230, KLX230, Kayo 230. Not sure why.
