    Nice 230 sir! Coming from someone who spent almost 10 grand on a eurotrash enduro bike a few years ago, more and more I look at these simple yet undeniably fun play bikes thinking I would have been better off while having money left over to mod the hell out of it. Your bike looks good too. Always been a Honda fan.

    gotta say man, this was a big inspiration for my build, ended up with a fully self ported and polished head, +2mm lift and duration cam, roller rockers, bbr valve springs, valve lapping, milled the head down, weisco 11:1 stock bore, 4k-12k rpm selectable cdi, oil cooler and more im sure I'm forgetting.

      @@garbinsgarage kinda had the same issues but ended up finding an alibaba express one that was crf230 purpose built and claimed +2 mm for under $50 and the roller rockers where under $25 and actually the bbr valve springs costed about the same as roller rockers and cam combined. only down side was can and rockers where China shipped.

    Engines only 250kit 11.5:1 compression only makes 23.5 hp( just the big bore and compression) no way ur stock bore 11:1 with carb, air box mods, and exhaust gonna add 7hp. A high end full exhaust will only add 1hp.
    U might have 20-21hp what ur feeling is the torque from the high compression.

    Switch your sprockets out youll get better acceleration and is way worth it on a dirt bike, Ive got an old '83 XR200R with a later motor big bored and cam job etc, doesnt sound much different to your crf here and I used a 11T front sprocket, havnt got times yet but it shifts, Ive also got a FTR223 engine with an ATHENA 240 kit and BBR cam engine I got for my XL185 as a donor engine but I may use it in my '81 XR200R due to lack of a local engineer for a modified engine build I had planned.... awesome bike kid ! ✌🏻

    • @garbinsgarage
      @garbinsgarage  10 месяцев назад +1

      The only thing is with dirt bikes is, they are geared pretty low to start with. If you go to a lower ratio sprocket, you’ll get more acceleration but it will lower your top speed and make the gears really close. On a dirtbike, I would actually go up on your ratio so make the back one smaller by a few teeth. Give you more to end. I did that to my 230. I have a 49 tooth and I went to a 42

    • @bikersoncall
      @bikersoncall Год назад

      I can't tell you which piston you need
      for sure Shavon, but if you have
      a 67mm bore, matched piston
      might be called '67' but that would be a
      'nominal' figure, it sure as heck better
      not be 67mm literally. In other words,
      if you have a 67mm bore, you def DO
      NOT WANT a piston that is literally 67mm.
      Pistons are sized in order that rings finish
      off the mating of the two surfaces;
      Cylinder to Piston.

    • @garbinsgarage
      @garbinsgarage  4 года назад

      Amare Skateboarding. Mine only does 68-70 mph in 6th gear at rev limiter. The o or thing that will get you a higher top speed will be changing gearing. The stock sprocket sizes are 15 tooth front and 50 tooth rear. A smaller sprocket will raise the ratio giving higher top speed. I would put on a 45 tooth rear sprocket
