    When I peel apples, pears, or citrus fruits, I save the peels (separately) freezer bags and freeze them. When I want a nice fragrance, I put peelings in a small pot of simmering water and add spices to them....apples and pears get cinnamon; oranges get cloves. This is especially nice in the winter when I place the pot on our wood heating stove.

      When the water isn’t boiling anymore how long does the scent last?

    • @jewelgaither1504
      @jewelgaither1504 2 года назад +1

      @@thehappysouledwomen7832 It would depend on how many peelings and spices are in the water. It doesn't linger a super long time, but this is so good to put on the wood stove to simmer. I think you could also put them in one of those small crock pots and keep the lid off of it.

      I do this but in a small crockpot like what they sell for putting dips in.

    Just a quick tip.. if you need to mix any powder/flour in milk/water, put the powder first, pour in just enough liquid like 3-4 tablespoons to make it a slurry. The powder will not clump up. Then mix the rest of liquid, this will give you a smooth drink.

    If you buy a succulent plant, like a kalancho, you can pinch off small sprigs and stick them directly into dirt and they will root and you will have more plants. You can root avocado pits and make plants. Potato eyes. Herb seeds from the dollar tree (4/1.25) will grow on your counter. Some plants can be divided. Just a few things and some time can give you lovely plants. Blessings on you and your family.

    Pardon my ignorance but wouldn’t picking the fruit blossoms for your home mean you will have less fruit? The blossoms become the fruit, not so?

    • @BecauseitMatters
      @BecauseitMatters  2 года назад +7

      Great question. Yes, the buds would become fruit. I consider it thinning the trees a bit so they will produce larger fruit:)

    I agree that things around my home send me messages. Even plants in my yard. I had transplanted some annual daisies last fall that were next to my front steps. I realized I missed two and every time I walked by them, I got the message to move them. I did that and in the process, moved around other perennials that had been sending messages to me. I did it during a light rain. It just so happened that it rained on and off for three days so I didn't have to water them. After I did that, they seemed happy and I didn't get anymore messages. Does that happen to anyone else?

      commenting because I want to see what other people recommend as well. I love the tips, but the religious stuff just makes me uncomfortable due to past *problems* with religion. Just want to watch videos about being a homemaker without feeling like I'm being preached to.

      @@alexandriacandler2877 so sorry you had a terrible experience with religion. However at the end of the day it's much more about relationship with our savior Jesus Christ then it is about religion. Jesus does love you and your loved ones! I hope one day you ladies will possibly reconsider the relationship with Jesus outside of religion is a completely different beautiful blessing and gift from our father 🧡🙏 Prayers for anyone who struggled,were betrayed etc. There is always hope everyday the sun rises again!!

    • @alexandriacandler2877

      @@femininityfaith7920 no hate but I honestly don't understand why you people feel the need to comment on this kind of stuff when someone has already stated that it made them uncomfortable. All it does it push people further away. I'm not going to go into my belief system, but can yall just keep it to yourself? Oh wait, you can't because your religion teaches you that not pushing it on others means you're not looking out for them. I'd rather burn in hell than worship a god like the one in the bible so trying to "save me" it completely pointless. The story of Jesus is still a part of Christianity whether you want to admit it or not. You can follow whatever you want but please, for the love of god, just keep it to yourself.
