Whenever I had an ear infection as a child, my mum put a clove of garlic cut up in a table spoon then added a little bit of olive oil and heated it up or rather let it boil on the fire, then let it cool off and dropped a few drops in my ear and the infection was gone. My mom used a lot of natural remedies like this one.
New subscriber! Glad I found your channel! My MIL taught me the garlic trick 20+ years ago when my oldest ones were little and although I thought I was pretty open to natural ways, I was scared to try it because I just thought it sounded weird to put raw garlic inside an ear lol. But when I finally tried it, it really did work! I've been on a journey of learning natural health since then. I'm now a certified holistic nutritionist, herbalist, and wellness coach!
I grew up in Northern Virginia - My mother and grandmother always used pickles or relish (dill) , and mustard in their potato salad. That's how I learned to make it, and still do today. I also use bacon in mine, too. Your recipe is very similar to mine. I totally agree with you about making your own mayonnaise - SO much better!
Excellent advice about the garlic! It’s crazy to me that you were a nurse and were never taught about the side effects of those things. Good for you for doing your own research!
It is crazy that they don't teach that, but they don't. I know a lot of doctors and nurses and not only were they not taught those things, but they also only spent about one week of school on nutrition and it was just an overview. Yet nutrition is the basis of all health.
Thanks for another great video! The garlic tip and the explanation of what's causing earaches was so great. I appreciate you boldly speaking about this and educating others. Love your content.
I've done the garlic for ear infections as well. It's wonderful! I've just come across your channel, and looking forward to watching more! Thank you for all you share!
Nobody got tubes in the sixties when I was a kid. I believe it about the garlic. We have a special garlic supplement that we take the second we feel like a cold is coming on and well....It knocks it right out in less in a day.
That potato salad looks really delicious. :) I've never thought of adding bacon to it. I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for such a sweet, informative video.
Love your videos! I just got accepted into nursing school but my heart is in natural remedies. I’m seriously considering opting out of 💉 for my family. FYI, if you don’t have garlic try onion. Learned that from watching Barbara O’Neill’s videos 😉
Garlic is one of my favorite things. I add it to almost everything. My 24-year-old had chronic ear infections as well. It was so frustrating to see her suffer with one about every two months until she was around 6 years old. I love the potato salad recipe you made. It looks so good.
My dentist proscribed me some antibiotic's then shortly after I couldn't digest protein for months. After noticing that I use natural ingredients. Also bough 2 medical books from the 1800's.
Medical books from the 1800s? Dude come on...they used to think bloodletting and miasma were real. Denouncing modern medicine as a whole over a few issues is insanity and makes you stupid as hell. Does old stuff work, like garlic in the ear? Yes. Does modern medicine do stuff like ROBOTIC BRAIN SURGERY????? Also yes. It's not all the devil. Don't be a brainwashed idiot
I love your videos and your personality! I really wish I knew more people like you in my life. I know what you mean about the older kids wanting their independence, I’ve got a nursing baby and then 3 older ones. I definitely feel like you’re a kindred spirit. 🙂
My first 2 had chronic ear infections so they were on antibiotics all the time---- soooo nice to have learned more about all of it and be able to change that for the next 3 kiddos. Totally with you!! We use a garlic oil for their ears and our last 2 kiddos didn't need antibiotics for ear infections ever-- it's amazing the difference when you skip "the thing in their arm" ;)
Thanks for the egg peel techniques. Your casual vibe is very refreshing. Parenting is a journey and you have insight as a mom and nurse which is valuable! Home remedies are convenient and effective.
I found your channel last night I’m trying to learn how to make sourdough bread ! I love your videos. So many people are taking charge of there families health now & going back to the old ways . We have a 30 year old daughter ,she has a 7 year old & we started over in our older age & have a 5 year old daughter with Down syndrome. She stopped talking after her 2 year vaccines!! After researching & working myself in health care for many years i realize the corruption around it all . She has no longer been vaccinated. I homeschool her & take a total holistic approach & she’s so smart & healthy compared to the other kids we know with DS. I’m learning to garden, prep, & hopefully I’ll learn more from you & how to make sourdough bread ! Thanks for your videos .
I just came across your channel and I have a little one that had ear infections all the time when he was in public school. I ended up pulling him out of public school a couple years ago and since then he has not had one single ear infection, or any major illness like he did, when he was in public school. His asthma has drastically improved as well which is awesome! He has not had any antibiotics since pulling him out of public school. Anytime he has a cold coming on. I always go to natural remedies from things that grow in my garden and they work so much better than any anabiotic he has ever been put on in the past. I will definitely give the garlic a try for earaches for my husband. My husband struggles with ear problems. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us🥰🥰🥰
We sound very similar! I rarely use a recipe, and when I do, I often tweak it or do what I think sounds better lol! We have six kiddos and have never done anything in the arm… not a single antibiotic for any of them in 12 years of parenting. I think there are several factors, but a big one being the arm things… your potatoes look great! Nothing like fresh garden baby potatoes ❤
I grew up eating potato salad with relish, bacon, fresh dill, and boiled eggs!!! Andddd, I started making homemade Mayo this year with our farm fresh eggs, and man ohh man what a difference. I will never go back to store bought.
That’s how we make our potato salad in South MS. I prefer dill pickles over bread and butter pickles!! So nice to see someone else make their potato salad this way.
I’ve never heard about the garlic thing before. That’s such a helpful bit of info. I will definitely hold on to that for the future. New subscriber! Love your content!
Chiropractor was the trick for my littles with ear infections! Just a couple adjustments is all it took 🙌🏻 A few of my babies were adjusted as newborn and we didn’t have ear infections-we had moved a couple times while my oldest son was a baby and I didn’t find trusted chiro so never went and he had nonstop infections antibiotic’s etc. and one day it hit me🤦🏻♀️ he never got adjusted -two adjustments and he never had another🙌🏻 I LOVE RELISH IN POTATO SALAD-sadly my husband doesn’t like pickles Or basically green food🤦🏻♀️🤷♀️🤪 I just add it on top of my serving Doing boiled eggs Instapot has become my favorite way for fresh eggs! Always make extras as one or two usually bust open🤷♀️but the shells just slip right off🙌🏻
Oooh i love garlic. We take fermented honey garlic all fall and winter, even my littles eat it. Tastes like sweet and sour sauce. Not nearly as hot as traditional raw garlic. So good for you! Also a great tip for pasta, potato even rice dishes, rub a cut clove of garlic around your bowl before adding hot food, adds great flavor with no chunks, and then you can still chop it up for another use if desired!!
That's a good idea about the garlic. What we do for our ears, is use a homemade ear rinse. My husband has issues when he gets water in his ears, so every night after a shower, he puts a mixture that he made, 1/2 Apple Cider Vinegar and 1/2 alcohol. He has a squirt bottle ( a bottle that Sriracha came in - of course we washed it out really, really good) he fills that with the 1/2 and 1/2 mixture and uses it every night, just tilts his head, puts a drop in, then tilt his head and dumps it out. Its sort of like a homemade swimmers ears concoction :) BUT I've noticed that even when I get the first signs of any kind of sinus infection or head cold, I wash my ears out with it and it seems to nip it in the bud. For an ear ache , I would use this mixture and then warm up some coconut oil and put it in and then a cotton ball. Momma use to use sweet oil when I when young, but coconut oil is antibacterial, anti-fungal and antimicrobial. Hope this is helpful. I really enjoy your channel.
Lovely to find your channel. I love listening to you talk over the footage, it’s very calming. That potato salad looks delicious. We live on a few acres and I’d love to get a few chickens one day. Fingers crossed! 😊
There is so much truth in this video, from viral earaches, to you know what! ❤ so glad I found your channel - just yesterday. I put dill pickles in my potato salad! Yum!
We add pickles chopped up ...my favorite is bread and butter pickles..1/2 of them and 1/2of dill pickles!! Yummy the sweet and salty flavors is so yummy
My daughter had tubes at1 1/2 years and after that when here ear hurt we used a bow dryer or heating pad on low , always putting Hands on the blow dryer or heating pad to make sure not to hot , on ear to dry moisture and sometimes dymatap to dry the moisture . But didn’t know that about garlic so I’m sure it works for everyone, the garlic. 😊
New subscriber! You had me at “ do your research”…since 2020 I’ve been a huge researcher…I like your attitude as well. Refreshing! Looking forward to watching your videos!
My son is 11. He's never had any immunization shots, ever. But.. he suffered with chronic ear infections. He also had tubes. He still gets them. But, I have found what works for him is colloidal silver.
Oh my goodness. My daughter had chronic ear infections, rsv, pneumonia her 1st year. So much so that it delayed her gross motor skills and speech. WOW I had NO IDEA the things in arms has that as a side effect. Since she was about 3, I have learned so much- now she is 16 and very rarely ever gets sick now.
Well thank you for explaining why both my brother and I *constantly* had severe ear infections growing up! I now have an issue with my eustachian tube to where it’s always open and so my ear drum is constantly moving. I can hear myself breathing. My kids don’t go to the dr’s, so never got the you know what’s, and my son has only ever had 1 ear infection. He’s 11. My daughter has had 0 and she’s 5. They’re rarely sick. We all came down with what I like to call the 2019 flu, and my son was bedridden with a fever for….1 day. My daughter was icky for a few days. My husband and I had it bad for 2 weeks and I had long…flu symptoms all the way up to a year after. We all fell sick the exact same day.
Wow, I never knew about garlic & earaches!! ->If your eggs are at least 5 days old, boiling & peeling are much easier. (I love using my Instapot, shell fall off! 5 mins pressure, 5 mins self depressive & 5 min in ice cold water. Easy Peasy.
Missed your awesome recipes and I love your little tricks that help so much. Im gonna make the mayo soon for sure. I always use relish in my potato salad and in my deviled eggs. Thanks so much for sharing.
I didn’t not appreciate the size of your pigs until I saw one of them at the beginning of this video! They’re massive!! Those must be the pigs your kids’ raise for the fair, which makes it that much more impressive what they accomplish!
Thank you for sharing such priceless information. I'm so very glad I found your channel! Could you share how to start garlic in an indoor gardening situation? I have tried some methods, hasnt worked for me. Im in a half of year cold climate in Ontario.🙏🇨🇦
Have you ever tried, heating the the garlic with some olive oil on the stove let it cool, then use the oil you got from the combination to place in the children ear.. ??? It seems a lil more safe for me than to put raw garlic in the children ear, to prevent further issues.
Yes! When my kids were younger and wouldn’t keep the clove in their ear I made garlic drops this way. Now it’s much easier to just put a piece of the clove inside the ear for an hour or so
What is it about nurses and homesteading, holistic medicine, etc? I was a nurse and I remember starting to research holistic medicine and 'healing hands' (reiki) and wishing I knew about all this when my kids were young.

Quick question what and how exactly do you use the garlic for the group b strep? I’m currently 15 weeks and have heard the only way to combat if I do end up having it would be antibiotic but I would love to know an alternative and how to use it!
Another incredible mum who knows about natural remedies and cooking from scratch. Garlic is indeed a miracle that God put on this for us to use. ❤
Whenever I had an ear infection as a child, my mum put a clove of garlic cut up in a table spoon then added a little bit of olive oil and heated it up or rather let it boil on the fire, then let it cool off and dropped a few drops in my ear and the infection was gone. @@HopewellHeights do you have any tips for choosing a family chiropractor? There are so many in my area. Are they all the same? 🤪

I cook just like you. Love your clothes and that kitchen. I love the kitchen.
Relish normally goes in potatoe salad. Since I can remember it’s always been a ingredient. Sweet relish or pickles cut up
Missed your awesome recipes and I love your little tricks that help so much. Im gonna make the mayo soon for sure. I always use relish in my potato salad and in my deviled eggs. Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes! Fair pigs 😊
I always use dill relish and dill juice in my potato salad...delicious

Really enjoyed the way you cook.
I will definitely use the garlic remedy .
Wish I knew this years ago when my son suffered from ear infections.
Good jobs open places .
I love the advice about the garlic remedy. So amazing! I will definitely try it. Thanks for sharing :)
I love how you do things❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the hard boiled egg tip!! I will be trying it soon!
Stephanie, have you shared where your pinafore apron is from? I love it! Thanks for sharing your process-inspires me’
Me too became addicted to making my own mayonnaise 😊
Have you ever tried, heating the the garlic with some olive oil on the stove let it cool, then use the oil you got from the combination to place in the children ear.. ??? It seems a lil more safe for me than to put raw garlic in the children ear, to prevent further issues.

Yes! Dill relish in potato salad.
I had no idea that's how you make mayo!!! 🤯
Such a good mama💗
Yessss!! Pickles always in potato salad :) Love your videos. Thanks for sharing
My mom used to ALWAYS put pickles in our potato salad. It’s almost not potato salad without it.
I always put pickle juice (dont like the relish texture) in my potato salad as well as deviled eggs 😊
ALWAYS RELISH! Love home made mayo but we use tons and the avocado oil isn’t cost effective for us for mayo. So yummy though.
Your potato’s look amazing! My brother in law loves relish in his potato salad.

Hello, I just found your channel ❤
Great video. I can’t find your information on making magnesium bicarbonate water… could you post it, please?
Love your channel
Can you share links or brands to your immersion blender and your apron?
Could you please share some pearls of wisdom to help me quit eating chips, cup noodles and other processed junk food? You are so helpful, may God reward you. Its been difficult to quit on these comfort foods. I've had these bad eating habits since childhood. Thank you!
Prioritizing at least 100 grams of quality animal protein really helps to curb cravings!
Make homemade versions and don't skimp on a good fat (tallow, lard, butter) or salt with the chips
Dill pickles in potato salad.... is there any other way?? I think not. ☺️
apple cider vinegar works for my cats ear infections-or at least helps, try it (dilute a bit)
Please make the video about GBS! This could really help!
I am currently on my second bout of otitis media, and second round of antibiotics since November 😩I’ve had ENT issues my entire life. I have no ear pain this time around, but I’m wondering if the garlic will help anyway. I’ll give it a try.
Do you think squishing the garlic and using the juice on a Q tip would suffice? Maybe with a couple reapplications?
Maybe? I have done garlic oil drops in the past when mine were little and that worked great!
New subscriber.potato salad looks so delicious
Thank you for the video☺
I've done my research on garlic. I love garlic. Dident know that about eat aches. I've always used garlic as an antibiotic..... QUESTION ❓.. is the brown wrap your wearing is that an apron?? Where did you get that? Or did you make it?? I put relish in my potato salad. I don't like pork, yuck 🤮🤢
LOVE Your Video's !!! ‼✝🙏 ♥
Do you ever infuse garlic in olive oil for earaches?
Always pickles in potato salad! I prefer dill my momma prefers sweet 😊
I wondered why so many kids had to get tubes these days. This was unheard of when I was little.😢
Hi! I want to buy Real Salt - what size is your favorite? Thanks!
Ok, soooo you made me make potato salad and it's 8 am. Hahaha.
Love your videos
Thank you!
Is there a herbal book you recommend
Quick question what and how exactly do you use the garlic for the group b strep? I’m currently 15 weeks and have heard the only way to combat if I do end up having it would be antibiotic but I would love to know an alternative and how to use it!
Hello, did you wash the eggs before you boiled them?
Also - raw egg is ok in mayonnaise? Not a salmonella risk?
