- How to use an A-Frame tow kit safely. A demonstration by our good friend Richard Olphin on how to correctly assemble and attach a towing A-Frame to your towcar and your motorhome. The A-Frame in this example is supplied by TowTal.

Great Video etc , but a bit misleading as the red vehicle has had lots of fairly major preperation works carried out ( not shown ) to enable the fitting of this unit , double towing eyes on the front , most vehicles may have one towing eye ` factory fitted ` the attatchement for the brakes ? that would require far clearer guidance so people would fit it correctly , and the electrical plug in adapter for power to lights etc , again this is shown ` pre-fitted ` for the sales demonstration , great invention / idea but I personally cannot see it as a practical method in event of an emergency tow , ideal maybe for a large camper van with piggy backed smaller coutersy vehicle on tow. :-)
so the car magically has two tow hooks a brake cable and a plug to the taillights?..
@Maxton Calvin what’s that got to do with anything 🤷🏽♂️
that red car is magic, how can i make my audi magically have them bits that wasn’t explained
i like the subtitles. :D
So the key stays in the ignition in the ACC position with the steering wheel unlocked?
Hi there,
Great video. I am looking to tow a Mk1 Golf with a Mk 4 Golf TDi. where do I attach the tow bar to the smaller car as it doesn't have the eyelets you've shown on your red car.?
Brilliant auto sub titles, that was a classic
But, the tow hooks on the car being towed? How did they end up there? That's not factory?
So where is the o ring connected to the car coming from how is it connected?
Do you need to cover the car number plate....or cover it with the mh number?
How do you keep your tyres straight? Is there an mechanism to control or lock your front wheels?
There's no need to lock the wheels; and it can create problems for the towing vehicle and the vehicle in tow. The tyres automatically turn in the direction that the vehicle is being pulled. If the vehicle is being pulled straight, the tyres remain straight and turn as the towing vehicle turns. You want the tyres to have freedom to turn when you tow a vehicle. If you're making a turn, you would want the tyres to move in the same direction. If you lock the wheels from movement, then the tyres and alignment will suffer premature wear.
so simple. thanks
When you have to tell some one to take the frame out the boot befor use they probably shouldn't be driving
If the towed vehicle tyres are not being turned in the right direction when cornering,,,, Surely this will scrub out tyres ?
Really helpful video, thank you. However, the music was so annoying - sorry.
Have to disagree with +BraindeadLemming. It's not the clip that is stupid, but the subtitles. However this kind of 'A' frame is very expensive, requires significant modification to the towed vehicle and would likely have to be professionally fitted to be legal.
