Synthesizers are definitely undervalued, they're giving endless possibilities to create new sounds that human had ever in history. I love electronic music.
synths are awesome. I own a m1 ( sn 30 273 ) that need some love. I have been in electronic music for the last 7 years, and , while I still somewhat enjoy black metal, I cant turn my back on synth, music production, techno, house, ect..
9 years later and prices have blown up and they have a huge cult following

M1 is such a beast of a work station, I could listen to the organ patch all day!
Urban Cookie Collective: goosebumps everywhere! WOW!!!! One of my favourite 90's classics of all time!
I just realized how many tunes / songs were possible with this keyboard / instrument, although musically very simple, it was an influence over generations, in my teen days I got crazy with that music, and always trying to mimic the sounds on a Yamaha Keyboard without too much success...

Voice preset at 1'10 is the one used in "The first Rebirth" by Jones & Stephenson
Korg m1 is underrated these strings are of a m1 also Sigma - Paroxyms combi mode

This instrument not only looks beautiful but the selection of sounds is really extensive, and very high quality, and with deep programming capabilities. So what that there's no filter resonance? I get best results on my D-50 with resonance down.

thanks ive been trying to find out chords for like electro-funk and indie dance i think and those seem to have a little of those qualities.
The trance track is Lethal Industry and the classical track is Canon in D, if I'm not mistaken.

Are all these sounds in the $49 VST version?
But the Korg M1 isn't a synthesizer, it's a rompler. All sounds are built in. You can't make your own. You can combine presets (stack them up) and add fx but that's it.

Korg relesed software VST of that synth just google Korg Legacy Collection and you will have that sounds on any midi keyboard.

This may be a stupid question - does the M1 predate all of these classic songs? Did people literally just use these presets to make those classics - did producers not do their own sound design? I only ask because nowadays, where many producers work with VSTs in the box, using presets is generally frowned upon, you should make 'new' sounds. I was just so surprised to hear so many songs I recognised being made by the same machine!
The preset at 0:29 was used on Freedom by QFX.
Minilogue hasnt got that other rotary organ luckily ive got it on my casio .
Are all these actual modes pre installed? Absolutely superb..
They were all either factory presets or just saw wave inside it that the main character comes from the internal fx (mainly chorus)
