This song is so much like we're back in the 90's that it took 5 hours to watch this video because it fooled my computer into thinking all it had was dialup internet.
Listening to this track sent chills down my spine. How I miss this music. Kinda wish new tracks like this were made today using these older 90s sounds.
When it came out at the end of the 80's I was 7 years old. If someone would have parked me in front of this synth at that time they would had to drag me away from it kicking and screaming :D
@@Estuera Same here. I was a bit older, but the sounds from that synth gave me goose bumps, and some of them still do. That combination of sampled attack and digital synthesis is quite unique. The D50 was a precursor, but the Korg M1 just took things to the next level.
0:40 Ahhh, yes, the essential Robin S bass of the 90's. 2:19 Oh yeah! Back clubbing in the 90's! 8:30 DAMN you should release this, that's pretty darn good! 9:40 Ohhhh, MORE!
I was very big into the club scene and all weekend hardcore raves back then and I can tell you this would have me going none stop. Well played. Very very well played.
I really enjoy your creations and you inspire people to make music. With you breaking down how to make a tune. You're showing people like me its not hard or scary its easy and fun. Thank you.
I really appreciate the kind of content you make man. Learning the production processes for modern music is difficult enough, but being a young dude and wanting to know how iconic sounds from yesteryear were made is even harder without the top-notch work creators like you do. It's hard to overstate how excited I get when I hear some of these sounds and like 50 songs I love that made use of them flash through my mind at once, lol. Immense inspiration. Edit: And then your track is a banger on top of all of that, god damn.
Didn't think I would like this at_all for being so many emulations and/or samples. Put it all together by someone with skills, good taste is a different story.
I have a M1R with a 4MB upgrade. It chained to a 303 like bass generator is sick. Piano 16 is a hell of thing. The harpsichord on it chained to x0x drum machine can work well too. I have a halcyon box that takes audio signals and converts them to midi. I sing into it, into a volca bass, which drives a talking machine 😂 It sounds pretty cool.
I chased that Organ 2 patch for so long. Through Loona - Vamos a la Playa (Movetown Remix), through Robin S - Show Me Love, through Nightcrawlers - Push the Feeling On, just so many songs to find out what exactly it was.
@@ctflwrs1197That's basically called "Lo-Fi-House". Amazing genre haha. But it's sometimes a bit "too gritty, and too modern". But definitely the closest you can get to late 80s/early 90s house/acid. 🤍😊👍🏻

@@MichaelRenders The JP8000 certainly is a classic in its own right for sure. I wanted to have one so much back in the 90's. Got a (1 year old second hand) CS1x instead as that was all that I could afford as a 17 year old (and I actually still use it in new tracks sometimes)
Not dubstep worshippers, but Skrillex is not a bad person. That’s obvious, obviously we don’t know. 🤔 can’t be me. DAMN! good work man :) god i love the Korg M1 sound ❤ u absolutely nailed it with the melody, bassline, the high pitched string.. it just works how u put this together its amazing! i love it!
The syncopated entry of the piano a half measure before the drop is such a tasteful move. Love the sound! It's like every M People track of that time. Thanks for the insight into the sounds used. Good tips. Off to fire up my M1 VST.
For 909 drum sounds on M1 you can buy the waverex card and download 909 samples to it from their app your PC or Mac Then insert the waverex card into the M1s PCM slot. I've done it because I own the waverex card and an M1. The M1 will recognise the waverex card like any other M1 PCM card, and then you can make a new M1 Program patch sound entry based around these samples.
That shows exactly why there isn't the definition of old music or new music. Instead there is bad music and good music. To my shocking realization I came across a video about classical music composers whose music were simply "copied" for modern compositions. And then there was Kraftwerk who were "plundered" by endless modern musicians for good riffs.
Great example video! I have M1 and DX7, i just miss a TR909 but there many samples available here and there to substute it with a sampler and cubase drum map
