Excellent very informative video. I typically end up with too many puts thus increasing my score. My putting is fair but quite inconsistent. Think this drill will really help getting better feedback when putting.

Adding variation to block practice is probably the most useful piece of advice I've heard. It's simple but you learn more about yourself

jack said when i was kid practice your putts at a whole that just big enough ball go in an then when you get to course it will look like a 5 gallon bucket..you right most people cant feel what they doing playing golf i hit ball i can tell you without seeing the ball what i did push pull straight every club.putting if you dont see the head hit ball you got easy problem to fix wait to you hear ball go in whole way jack said practice

Great video! One thing missing is talking about length in the setup. Looks like clay is using a 35” most players use a way to long flat stick. Plus putter tech has evolved... look like clay is using an Evnroll and maybe the gravity grip which is loaded with tech compared to a Scotty and standard grips... don’t go change putters but first look at length and lie angle then go from there!

I'll be honest, I can't yet sink putt after putt at home on my putting mat like you 😂 But that is why I am here haha.

Clay, I notice that you move your head slightly to the right when you make your stroke. I have an Eyeline Mirror and have noticed I do the same thing. This happens when I make the through stroke down the line. Is this a flaw or is it OK? Thanks for your help!
Are you trying to take the putter back on a particular path? It looks like it's inside the black line that runs down the center? Thanks for the video Clay. I actually ordered an eyeline mirror today!

Some of the greatest putters didn’t need gadgets. They still don’t.
You'll not see a single professional today that doesn't use "gadgets" of some kind ...not a single one. In fact, 16 of the top 20 players in the world use some version of the "eyeline mirror" (gadget) that is being used in this clip. Plus ...when you say, "....the greatest putters in the world ...", & by that, you mean guys like Nicholas, Palmer, Faldo, Norman, Player, etc, etc, the condition of the greens have changed DRASTICALLY since those guys were "doing their thing". & by the way, THOSE GUYS are using "gadgets" today!

I Get your message and your video is great! But talking about putting Mats at hope dosent help ur putting, is NOT true at all. Ofc u have to play the Real Deal, but technique, setup and execution of the put can easierly be done on at mat at home.
Thanks! The truth is that there are no true surfaces. Even the real deal will have a lot of imperfections. You can roll the same putt from 20 ft and it can do something different every single time. You can only work on what you can control. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
