How to do it: 1- Ensure changing the region settings on your iPhone to the United States. You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Language & Region > Region 2- you should connect your phone to a VPN app and set to the United States. Start the initial registration process. 3- Just scan the QR code, this will ensure that your bike is in US mode from the start. 32 km/h unlocked! 4- Now you can safely switch your phone’s region back to your home country and turn off the VPN while retaining the US mode on your bike.
Hi Dan, could you give more information on how to install the 32km/h mode on the S5? And how do you know that the moofer app will support the S5 any time soon?
I live around some steep hills, with grades up to 10%, I'm wondering if the S5 can make it up those easily where you're barely breaking a sweat and even someone without the leg power could do it, or if it struggles near a 10% grade? The 10% grades are about 200m long, and then there's maybe some 3-7% grades that can go 1km long. Thank you !
It’s in beta at the moment, but will be released very soon. Join https//facebook.com/groups/vanmoofing if you’re not already a member, and you’ll be among the first to know ;)
any update as to when this will be released? The motor in my s5 with the latest firmware (v1.1.10) stops support at 25 kmh and I can only reach 27.5 when I use the boost button (which I have found uses a lot of battery). This is really bothering me because my old ebike (RadPower Radcity 5+) would support till 27.5 kmh without needing to press a button. Did you notice a change with a recent firmware update? I hope Vanmoof changes it back. At the moment the bike is simply too slow for my preference
I habe an EU S5 already. What the hell I have to do to enable the 32km/h Mode? As far as I understood it is only posible By Ordering a new S5? I Don,t want to send my back and Wait forma new one? There Must be an Easier way…..
Ordering a new S5 won’t help; in Europe they’re all 25km/h as standard. All I can say is that 32km/h should be coming ‘soon’ to a 3rd party app near you…
Mechanical build quality is WAY up on the first generation S1. Later generation S3s were fairly solid as well, but so far I’m very impressed with the S5
Love your videos about the S5, maybe this is a weird question but do you have any problems with the bike. Not responding buttons or something else as repairing? I have a preorder but there was a arikel about that Vanmoof needed money otherwise it may stopping their business after Q1 2023. Now i'm doubting to cancel it because everything is custom made by Vanmoof.
Not a weird question at all. Since I made this video I received a tip on how to (unofficially) activate Find My by resetting and pressing the power button in a certain sequence; when I did this the ECU (smart module) stopped responding. VM very kindly reset it for me, and also took the opportunity to ask me nicely to stop playing with buttons ;)) Normal riders won’t have this issue unless they’re actively messing around with things they shouldn’t. I could have disconnected it myself (pretty sure it just needed a physical power disconnect) but VM were fine to do it for me. They also took the opportunity to ‘officially’ update the firmware to include Find My. On VM’s financial situation; nothing’s really changed. The company is investor-funded and primarily focused on growth rather than profit, so the recent message regarding reinvestment doesn’t worry me. It WOULD worry me if investors started to pull out, or VM defaulted on payments; neither of which has occurred.
Hi Daniel! Ik denk dat je het in het Nederland ook begrijpt, but I’ll keep it in you native language. In all your videos you did not mention the phone case. It seems that the connector on the S and A5 are sort of special. Did you need to buy a special adapter for that or did the SPC(+) fit straight away? (I’m still waiting for my bikes, but one will be here in a few days). I want to install this app as well, but I read somewhere in the comments that it’s still beta. What’s the name of the app? Thanks!😘
Hi @drewbase the connector on the bike is SPC (not SPC+). If you have an SPC+ case it will also fit via an adaptor; included with your SPC+ case if you bought it new.
Hi Dan, I’m very jealous of your speed with the S5. I wonder which app you use because the moofer app don’t support the S5 (yet). Or is there another trick to get this bike speeding up?
I don’t quite understand, this mode isn’t available through vanmoof? The vanmoof-only mode feels sluggish an uninspiring? That’s my takeaway from the video.
Nice to experience, but im affraid this only adds to the call for extra regulation by critics regarding e-bikes. For example mandatory use of helmets and the need for exta police checks.
There have been calls to throttle progress since the beginning of time. When Man invented fire, there was almost certainly somebody in the background saying ‘that’s bloody dangerous and should be forbidden’ 🤷🏻♂️
@@danmoof yeah i agree. But i dont know. I think they will take this as an example again. I already see 'vanmoof antisocials/ race monsters' in the media more often. I gues it gives the brand a bad name and it doesnt help the situation when the s5 can be set to the us that easily.

Can it also be done with andoid phones like this?
And do I have to do this with the initial registration? Or can it also be done later?

Does it drain the battery? Heard that the range is only 35 km…

Has anyone tried to activate Apple find my after switching to US mode? I can't anymore. What about with you?
Thanks for the video. Which app do you need to adjust the speed?
