Thanks for the review. Really helpful. Currently torn between the Cowboy Cruiser and the Tenways CGO009 - mainly due to the price difference between them. Tenways about £2050, Cowboy with performance/connectivity spec about £2800. Do you have any insight as to whether it's worth the significany extra expenditure?

I e bad my cowboy 4 (classic) for 2 years now. To be honest i didnt expect it to be as good and last as well as it has. It still doesnt make any noises, feels solid and battery still lasts as long as when new ! Ive literally have only changed the brake pads (twice) and one new tyre. The only thing id change is id prefer the cruiser ride position. That will be by next bike i think.

You seem like an expert. I bought one of these from a police auction and I have none of the info required to run it. Do you know if there is a way to unlock it?

I really hope they fix the lights in a new version. Rear light should be as much to the back as possible (on the rear fender ideally), and front light should absolutely be better and turn with the steering angle. With the current version, once you turn a corner, the light will not follow into the curve.

Till when is the discount valid?

Tip: Use the light of your phone when it is connected to the quad lock mount. The light of my iPhone works well at night as an additional light.

Great video, thanks Dan. I have a Vanmoof S5, great bike. I did look at Cowboy before buying the Vanmoof, ironically when looking into the history of the owner seeing that he’d gone bust a couple of times turn me away from Cowboy. Well you just don’t know what’s around the corner 😂. I agree about the front lamp. I cycle country lanes in the UK. At night the Vanmoof is great, though I do have a second lamp on the handle bar making cornering safer, we have many potholes to avoid. I’d be very interested in your mountain bike review. I’m planning to buy a second e-bike for off road use, though I am fussy in what I’m looking for 😂. You may be able to help me. I’m in need of a E-shifter for my S5. Do you know anywhere in the Netherlands where I could buy one?

How to do it: 1- Ensure changing the region settings on your iPhone to the United States. You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Language & Region > Region 2- you should connect your phone to a VPN app and set to the United States. Start the initial registration process. 3- Just scan the QR code, this will ensure that your bike is in US mode from the start. 32 km/h unlocked! 4- Now you can safely switch your phone’s region back to your home country and turn off the VPN while retaining the US mode on your bike.

The bike did not arrive until February 2023, six months after my check was cashed. It came broken and missing parts. It does not shift gears and the motor does not work, never has. It is now April 7, 2023. They can take six months to ship the bike, but you only have two weeks to return it even if it arrives broken and you don’t figure it out because it is the middle of the Colorado winter. Customer service wants to know if I took it to an authorized bike doctor. There isn’t one in Colorado. This company is ill-equipped to sell to North America.

any update as to when this will be released? The motor in my s5 with the latest firmware (v1.1.10) stops support at 25 kmh and I can only reach 27.5 when I use the boost button (which I have found uses a lot of battery). This is really bothering me because my old ebike (RadPower Radcity 5+) would support till 27.5 kmh without needing to press a button. Did you notice a change with a recent firmware update? I hope Vanmoof changes it back. At the moment the bike is simply too slow for my preference

I live around some steep hills, with grades up to 10%, I'm wondering if the S5 can make it up those easily where you're barely breaking a sweat and even someone without the leg power could do it, or if it struggles near a 10% grade? The 10% grades are about 200m long, and then there's maybe some 3-7% grades that can go 1km long. Thank you !
