I own S3/ Adore my metal horse, Wish Vanmoof actually solve fragile E-shifter problem that like Achilles' heel But I think I will jump straight into VanMoof V skipping S5
@@danmoof Interesting how Vanmoof decided to solve problem just by removing extra gear and adding torque sensor/ Ive tried s5 in the shop indeed is smooth, you don't think anymore about droids sounds under you. But I do do look forward V, It seems like will have no gears -Direct. what Clarkson would say " Speed and POWaaar" - Top Gear
Ordered mine on 12 april 2022, and is stil in transit since the 1st of november. Delivery should be between the 1st and 15th of januari. Thinking of cancalling my order.
Don’t cancel ;) would be a shame. Note that the 32km/h mode is also active now for EU spec S5/A5; it’s a gamechanger. See my other videos for more info!
@@danmoof still thinking about it, my S3 took 6 months and 3 delays. This is also taking 3 delays and 11 week to transit it to the warehouse. But like the video.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the new S5. I really hope it will be possible to switch it US mode again. It feels very frustrating to pedal against this barrier. 32km/h is the perfect speed for such a bike. You're fast enough and still never have the feeling of not being in control anymore. I wish the EU would change max speed limit.
Hey Dan... Got my S5 still inbox thats been sitting in my basement for a few months now.... Meaning to putting it together at some point. Only just learning that they've gone into liquidation 😢😢..... So do you reckon i sell it off still intact to get a better price for it?? or open it to get it activated??... Thanks
Ahh sorry I missed this comment. Probably not relevant any more but if you still have your S5, VanMoof are starting up support again. It'll be paid-for as opposed to under warranty, but that might influence your decision to keep it. If you do decide to sell it the best place to do that is here facebook.com/groups/vanmoofmarketplace
@@danmoof I’m thinking about ordering a S5. The only thing that keeps me from doing it is that there’s a ton people who had really bad experiences with the previous model quality and vanmoof service. I live in Amsterdam where there’s thousands of people riding a vanmoof and every time I ask about the experience they got something bad to say. Vanmoof employees say that the S5 is way better but I only trust these words from a costumer 😂
Be careful! If you live in North America, Vanmoof is a scam!! I spent $3,900 $US on a fully decked-out S3 on August 15, 2022. I live in Windsor, Colorado. The bike did not arrive until February 2023, six months after my check was cashed. It came broken and missing parts. It does not shift gears and the motor does not work, never has. It is now April 7, 2023. They can take six months to ship the bike, but you only have two weeks to return it even if it arrives broken and you don’t figure it out because it is the middle of the Colorado winter. Customer service wants to know if I took it to an authorized bike doctor. There isn’t one in Colorado. This company is ill-equipped to sell to North America.

I‘m sure your bike is now defective. Battery discharges. Not a good idea to keep it for months uncharged

Later S3s are brilliant bikes - I can totally imagine a situation where VM relaunch it and have it alongside the S5

Mechanically nothing at all. Alarm doesn’t currently trigger past stage 1, VM are releasing a firmware update soon to resolve this

it is such a pity that these e bikes do not have removable batteries. Such a shame.
They will do - the click-in battery is planned for release before end of Q1
