Might be wrong, but I think the first four movies performed massively well. Definitely internationally (outside of the US, which is weird me saying that since I'm from the UK lol). Collision Course didn't perform too well, but I think it would still be the last one even if it did.
Something I just noticed. Where Sid was looking at everything in the ice, they all represent the different Ice Age movies in order. The fish, Meltdown. The dinosaur, Dawn of the Dinosaurs. The evolution, Continental Drift. And finally, the UFO, Collision Course. I haven't noticed this at all even though I watched a couple of reactors watch this.
I'm gonna put this with a spoiler warning just in case, but another great bit of foreshadowing I like is how each movie has a comment made that foreshadows something about the following movie. In the original, global warming is brought up. In the Meltdown, someone asks about the dinosaurs. In DotD, Ellie says she can't wait to see how Manny handles their (then) upcoming child's teen years. In Continental Drift, Diego says that Sid's family got wiped out by an asteroid.

This movie is so amazing, especially two things I like the most: First: Manny is such an incredible character: humans killed his wife and his child and he still brings a human child back to the father, just fantastic! And second: when the father gives the necklace of his wife to Manny. He gives the only thing that reminds him of his wife to the one who has brought him the most important. I don't know, but even as a kid I always found these two facts magical and just wonderful! But one thing makes me really sad, everytime I'm thinking about it (little SPOILER for the next movies): Manny won't wear the necklace in the other movies :( If he would, that would make my second favourite scene much more heartwarming!!

And ice age wikia also states that he has an unnamed deceased wife and an unnamed deceased child. It's rumored that Manny wanted to kill himself on the cliff in the beginning because he couldn't protect his family. That's why he becomes a father for the human baby in the course of the film because he misses his own son. I think it's quite a shame that he never talks about it, especially not with Elly later. But whether he was the father or the child, his past is just so sad.

Ice Age is an amazing Movie! So glad this is part of my childhood❤️ The music was so beautiful, story was great and the animation was pretty good for a 2001 movie! Hands down one of the best movies in 2001 and present.🙌

So Manny couldn't have been the baby. Although we can say that the baby was a boy/male indeed because in a later movie Manny calls Peaches "his *only* daughter" meaning he never had a daughter before. There's also a "fun" theory that in the begging Manny was standing on the same cliff under which his wife and baby got killed and Manny was about to jump off and commit suicide because of deep depression (or other mental problems) but Sid while escaping from rhinos interrupted him.

Ice age is my favorite animated movie franchise. I can rewatch these movies constantly and never get bored. They are just so funny😂
