I personally would rate it an 8. Although the ending was kinda "random" I think that the story is very well written. I just can’t give this under an eight because of the fire animation, transitions and fight scenes🔥🔥🔥 In my opinion the second one is better than the first one and the third one is by far the best so I‘d love to see you guys react to the other two movies too 🙌🏾👍🏾🙌🏾

Most sequels tend to decline in quality, but the writing of Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon stays strong throughout the entire series. in fact, in HTTYD's case, I adore the second movie more than the first. Hoping you guys decide to finish off both trilogies :)

It's really sad that,if shifu had visited tai lung in prison,and maybe apologized,tai lung could've turned out better. You can see the emotions running through his face,that apology meant something to him,even if he denied it. But the problem is, tai lung spent 20 years,in solitary confinement, in a straightjacket SO restrictive ,he couldn't even take a full breath,that was shown in one of the stages of unlocking. He spent 20 years in his own head with nothing to do but stew in his hatred of those he felt responsible,sifu and oogway.
Dang never considered the pain and torment of his imprisonment before.

@@orbboom6119 my guess is he just tensed his muscles over and over. Almost each and every one of your muscles has a muscle do do the opposite. Flex both,and have them do a tug of war. Very obviously not as good as a real workout, but combined with whatever Kung Fu awesomeness they have, it probably kept him running at about 30-50%

Not y’all calling the furious five randoms lol. They’re the strongest hero’s in the valley besides the masters (tigress especially) and the only reason they couldn’t beat Tai Lung was because shifu taught him things he was afraid to teach any of his other students after what happened with him

Shifu taught Tai Lung everything, but he didnt wanna teach too much to next students, afraid that if they become evil.
I love the line “I’m not Hungry” as it implies that he’s no longer stressed out like Master Oogway said

when Po said, “I’m not hungry” it’s so meaningful because He binge eats whenever he’s stressed or sad, him saying I’m not hungry and giving the dumpling to Master Shifu means he’s now satisfied with himself and gain back his self-esteem and confidence. He used to always doubt himself but now he realizes he can be the Dragon Warrior

I've watched this movie like 20 times and I didn't realise this ffs
Viper does have teeth they just retract back into her mouth like real snakes. Tigress and Tai Lung's eyes glow in the dart because real cat have special eyes that let them see in the dark, that being said Tigress is a Tiger and Tai Lung is a Snow Leopard they are not related. The similarities in their designs are likely intentional though as a way to bring attention to their similar backstories and the way they contrast each other. Tigress wouldn't be the way she is if it wasn't for shifu failing with Tai Lung. Also Shifu is, funnily enough, a Red Panda.

Shifu is actually something called a Red Panda, and they are somewhat related to raccoons.
It's so many people who mistake Shifu to be a different animal than he actually is. I wish they did a better job at designing him, Because even tho I know he's a red panda he looks nothing like one

If Shifu never sent the messenger to double everything, then Tai Lung wouldn’t have gotten the feather needed to escape.

It's easy to assume that what made the difference for Po was how large in stature he was, but he explained the true difference early. The mental capacity to handle pain is something intrinsic, you either dig deep or you don't. Po was able to sustain more damage and remain unaffected because his literal daily existence was so agonizing. What really made Po an equal Tai Long was they both survived a prison alone while the other always had each other for support. The others didn't truly understand Tai Long, which is why they couldn't defeat him.
Tai Lung is a snow leopard btw. They have the fluffiest tails outta all cats for balance cause they live on steep mountains. Which explains his agility
An interesting fact about them; even though they're called snow leopards, they're actually genetically closer to tigers. So, them calling him a tiger isn't as wrong as you'd think lol.
Ya’ll NEED to watch both How to train your dragon 2 and Kung fu panda 2. Both second movies are the best in my opinion of each trilogy 👌🏼👌🏼

Lol the reaction on OOgway beating Ta lung was hilarious. Master Oogway is a legendary kung fu master on a whole different level. He violated Tai lung instantly. Loved the reaction. Cant wait for the second and third parts. All three are awesome in their own rights.

Also a funny note: “Shifu” means “master” in Chinese; so really, his name is Master Master. Lol.
Hey now,pos dad didn't directly try to break his dreams until po was on a lit chair of fireworks. Before then, he thought he was genuinely excited that she thought his son liked noodles as much as he did. When asked about if he wanted to be anything more,he answered honestly,he had a dream,he gave up on it. Then he tried to bury the dream deeper by saying it was stupid anyways. Seriously,he only ever went directly against Kung Fu when Po strapped himself to a chair full of explosives.even then,I don't think he scolded Po directly,even once. Just a "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" referring to the explosives, and a "let's go home" they clearly weren't getting in. Mr ping probably thought being this close to seeing it would lead Po to do other dangerous things or just make him sad
Tai Lung's name can be translated to "the Great Dragon" but in everyday Chinese his name sounds exactly like "too cold"

Tai Lung is actually a Snow Leopard. They designed all the characters as animals native to China!
So I personally would rate this movie much higher, in my opinion its maybe the best Dreamworks made. And also Po's dad, Mr. Ping, was never an obstacle for Po's dreams. He just didnt knew and thought Po was genuinely excited about helping at the restaurant. The real reason why Po didnt follow his dreams was always himself. I think Mr. Ping is one of the most understanding and supporting fathers in any movie.
Tai Lung pulled up on Shifu like he's the Undertaker. You here the gong and he's just there.
Edit: I love how when Po tells Shifu his true feelings, you can see the genuine regret in his eyes for how he mistreated him when he realizes how much Po really believed in him from the start.

I absolutely love the parallels when Po and Tai Lung look at the scroll. When Po sees it, he says that it's blank (probably meaning that he's a blank canvas but has the potential to become something or that, as an apprentice he is still impressionable and can be influenced by his experiences but I'm probably reading too much into that part) but when Tai Lung sees it he says that it's nothing just blatantly calling himself (his reflection) nothing
The “wuxi finger hold” sends any mortal to the spirit realm also Shifu was kidding about cleaning the mess afterwards

I rlly think its the fact that Tai Lung wasnt rlly serious about his battle with the furious fight while they were serious. But once he was losing, he becomes serious and paralysed them all. As Shifu said, he couldve killed them but left them alive as a warning
I wouldn't say that Mister Ping wants to destroy Po's dream, as he isn't even aware. Po has never gotten up the courage to tell his dad his dreams. As far as Ping knows, Po wants to inherit the restaraunt.

Also, just think about how much work went into animating that death scene. Each of those petals needed to be individually animated. Those animators better have gotten a raise or some shit.

Hey guys, I wanted to give some martial arts insight into the technique Oogway used to stop Tai Lung, because it looks real flashy with the effects but upon rewatching it many times (I'm a nerd like that) it's really plausible, excepting the lights and stuff. You see, when he jumps after beating Shifu, he goes to try and reach the scroll instead of fighting Oogway and clearing all his opponents. There's the opening oogway takes, first striking directly to his neck with his staff (you can bet a hit to your throat chokes you), then, as his throat is probably closed, oogway hits him repeatedly in the upper abdomen area, where the diaphragm is located, thus effectively knocking Tai Lung out due to a lack of oxygen. That's how fire this movie is 🔥
Remember when shifu said the hardest part of the Wuxi-Hold was clean up. I think tai king turned to ashes and his ashes are all over place. Nothing but ash 💀😂

By movie 3, Po's father is proud of Po. He's allowed him to grow up and become his own person, while still being there for him if he needs support. One of the nice things about these movies is that they actually have character development, and not just in the protagonist.

The second movie is really amazing, it also has a really cool villain. There are things the 1st one left in the open that are better explored and resolved at the second one.
Definitely finish the last two movies of both Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon, they get better and better, with both villains visuals music and overall story. Dreamworks has really great movies.
Also another Dreamwork masterpiece to check out is "The Prince of Egypt," and if you want some humor i'd say watch "Madagascar."

If no one has told y’all yet, I’d like to tell you that I believe Tai Lung is a snow Leopard, which (if I remember correctly) are among the rarest big cats still found in the wild, and are only found in the mountainous regions of northern China.
I am honestly surprised that such a movie ended up being this much of a masterpiece.
The pinky move apparently sends the opponent to another plane of existence. We find out more about this in Kung Fu Panda 3.
Master Shifu is a red panda. I also think it was a great addition by the animators to have all the characters specialize in the style of Kung Fu that they represent. There are Tiger, Crane, Monkey, Viper, Mantis, Leopard and yes, Bear styles of Kung Fu that all specialize in different forms of offense and defense.
