Dreamworks was working on Prince of Egypt at the time and the company's inside joke/ actual punishment was to send anyone who messed up to work on the Shrek project lol

I always liked the theory that Donkey is one of the boys turned into a donkey in the Pinnochio story. A boy who retained his memories and relearnt how to talk but has never regained his humanity. Of course the theory is not as dark as mother bear getting turned into a rug for Farquad in the background of the film.

Well, the mama bear theory isn't really a theory. You see her body in his room with the bow. And you see the baby bear crying to his papa during the swamp scene and she's missing. It's a purposeful dark joke.

Shrek is one of the most funniest movies ever. Eddie Murphy as Donkey always makes me laugh, so much actions, great songs and true love was made. This will never get old

Since y’all asked: My parents told me when they met, it was love at first sight, for my dad especially. He told me when he saw mom, he knew she was the one. They met on a blind date.
Funny enough, he asked her to marry him that same night.
My mom, being the smart one, said they aught to date and get to know each other better. They married a couple months later.
They’re still together to this day and have been for over 30 years. Considering how uncommon lasting marriages are these days, I am extremely grateful. My dad’s a good man.

Shreks was made at the same time Prince of Egypt was in progress, but it was considered as a second rate movie. When people in the studio didnt know what to do or were "punished" were sent to work on Shrek. They certainly didn't expect it would gain that success lol

You guys should watch this show called Revolution its old but really good.
I can still quote that movie word for word after all these years. But to answer your question, yes, I do believe in love at first sight. And have experienced it a few times throughout my lifetime. But after getting to know each of them, they didn't quite hit the mark of what I was looking for. If I don't feel anything, I don't pursue. Still waiting years later for the moment that changes the rest of my life for the better

Here's how I rank the Shrek films: Shrek 2 is the best, then Shrek 4, Shrek 3, & Shrek 1 is last. I know a lot of people say Shrek 3 is the worst, but I like it more than Shrek 1 since Shrek comes off as too unlikable in the 1st film & I feel Lord Farquad isn't as great of a villain when compared to the others.
