In the middle of the earth, in the land of the Shire There's a brave little hobbit whom we all admire With his long wooden pipe, fuzzy woolly toes Lives in a hobbit-hole and everybody knows him. Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins Only three feet tall, Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins The bravest little hobbit of them all Now hobbits are a peace-lovin' folk you know They're never in a hurry and they take things slow They don't like to travel away from home They just want to eat and be left alone. But one day Bilbo was asked to go On a big adventure to the caves below To help some dwarves get back their gold That was stolen by a dragon in the days of old. Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins Only three feet tall, Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins The bravest little hobbit of them all Well he fought with the goblins! He battled the trolls! He riddled with Gollum! The magic ring he stole! He was chased by wolves, Lost in the forest, Escaped in a barrel from the elf-king's halls. Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins Only three feet tall, Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins The bravest little hobbit of them all Now he's back in his home in the land of the Shire, That brave little hobbit whom we all admire, Just a-sittin' on a treasure of silver and gold, A-puffin' on his pipe in his hobbit-hole. Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins Only three feet tall, Bilbo, Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins The bravest little hobbit of them all!
“No!” said Thorin. “There is more in you of good than you know, child of the kindly West. Some courage and some wisdom, blended in measure. If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. But sad or merry, I must leave it now. Farewell!” Thorin's final words to Bilbo reiterates that people are more important than material wealth like gold, and simple pleasures such as song and food make us happier than gold. Bilbo definitely took these words to heart and happy Hobbit Day Yoystan.
That one scene at the beginning of the Lord of the Rings shows the true strength of Bilbo's character. He gives up the One Ring, after decades of possessing it. That is something no one, not even Frodo, could do.
“I’m going on an adventure!” “Well I've made up my mind, anyway. I want to see mountains again, Gandalf - mountains; and then find somewhere where I can rest. In peace and quiet, without a lot of relatives prying around, and string of confounded visitors hanging on the bell. I might find somewhere where I can finish my book. I have thought of a nice ending for it: and he lived happily ever after to the end of his days.” To think he almost decided to not go on his adventure! Bilbo will always have a special place in my heart! Great job on this Yoystan!
Yes. Rest In Peace Mr. Orson Bean to whom I grew up with in the animated film, and Mr. Ian Holm when I watched you in both the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films.
How tragic and uncanny that both Sir Ian Holm and Orson Bean would pass in the same year. Middle Earth becomes a shade darker :( This was a great video of a beloved character, with wonderful, nostalgic art. It's a pleasure catching up on your older content.

This memoriam had a few tears for me, such a full, honest life. It is the tales of Hobbits like Bilbo that motivate me to be a better person. To appreciate the simple things in life, to fight for good.
A merry Hobbit day indeed which carries a sorrowful tune . . . May we all be united regardless of how we came to love middle earth be it books, movies, or games.
Your the best lotr guy on youtube. I have watched as much as I find for anything lotr on youtube. Your by far the best. I think your spirit and soul reminds me of the joy tolkien wanted to create in middle earth. Your videos are truely quality as well. Well edited and visually astounding and sound voice reading superior. I like geek zone as well bit I think it's just his accent and his style too similar to yours. Others do a fine job. Don't get me wrong. But men of the west is the best when it comes to middle earth lore or lotr lore I just say.
Thank you for honoring Orson Bean! Without him as Bilbo, I probably would have never ever stepped foot out of my Hobbit hole to discover the vast lore of Tolkiens work in the 2nd grade.
I really enjoyed this video, like so many others on your channel, and thanks for all your hard work! I had a huge smile on my face when you ended with the video with a reference to Thorin's last words to Bilbo, for how the world can be a "merrier place" is one of my favorite lines/messages from the entirely of Tolkien's work.

On Samwise Gamgee my memory stays, Remembering his simple lovable ways! To Frodo I bow on my knee, Remembering him to bore the burden so bravely. Yes the Hobbits are kind and brave, So let us remember them on this great day!
8:20 I think the greatest deed in all of middle earths history is rather when bilbo gave up the ring of his own volition 11:40. Even the movies encapsulated that moment perfectly, with the painful reluctance of bilbo's hand and the heavy thud of the ring touching the floor. Keep up the great vids, i love how you manage to squeeze an appropriate life lesson at the end of each one.
Happy belated Hobbit Day, everyone! Another great video as always, Yoystan. Rest in peace, Ian Holm. I hope the grey ships will bring you safely to a well deserved rest in Valinor.
Lovin your videos my friend Brings me much joy to indulge in a lore that has been in my life since I was a toddler being told bedtime stories I have always read and dreamed about This wonderfully imaginative and cherished world Ty so much for your input to this ever expanding and evolving world of legendary people and encounters
Great video yoystan I think you did a fantastic job with this video and I feel like if Ian and orsen were still alive they’d be proud of this video and who knows maybe Martin freeman will give you his congratulations as well as Ian mckellen aka Gandalf, and many more cast members of the lord of the rings and the hobbit!! And happy hobbit day even though I’m a day late and I apologize for that!
Man, that scene where Bilbo came back to the dwarves and Thorin asked him why he did - Bilbo simply answered that he missed his home and simple life, but then realized the dwarves did not have such things to come back to, and so Bilbo was willing to help them take back their home if he could...

Happy Hobbit Day, my friend! Thank you! Bilbo is one of my favorites!
I really loved this tribute to Ian Holms and Hobbit Day. Thank you for your untiring dedication to JRR Tolkien's literary masterpieces.
You are, by far, the best Tolkien-themed RUclips channel. Thank you for all that you do!
Nice to listen to while I'm doing a diamond painting of the One Ring
