Video location: Manila, Philippines. Greenhills Market.
Philippines travel vlog.
#Philippines #Philippinestravel #manila #greenhillsmarket
Yes, it's true filipinos are more respectful than other nationalities, anyway, price negotiations are common here in the Philippine ,specially if you're buying in this kind of market...
"Abot Kaya" means affordable and economical food choices.
she's right about romblon. it's got pretty beaches but it's not touristy because it really hasn't been discovered by tourists yet.
It's a common thing in the Philippines to haggle over the price of a merchandise or to ask for a discount especially if it has no price tag because the seller might be overpricing it. Don't settle for the price being quoted for but bargain for more until you reach a price you're both comfortable with. You will immediately sense if it is overpriced or not when you do the rounds of this particular section of the market where the same item you're looking for are being sold. Almost always, no two sellers will quote the same price.
Abot kaya means affordable. Thanks for visiting the Philippines. Enjoy your stay.
"Do you know why Filipinos are hospitable and friendly to you? Because you are guests or visitors
in our country."
At least they are still friendly…other countries even if guests or visitors they don’t seem hospitable or friendly, that’s my thoughts. I’m Filipina but currently residing in Canada, when I visited Philippines last year, Filipinos were nice & friendly to us.
Yah ,but other country is not like that.i mean most of other countries.i travel so many countries and only philippines is the one.
In March 16, 1521 Portugueze Explorer in the service of Spain Ferdinand Magellan after long transpacific voyage from what is now South America, and drop anchor on Homonhon Island on the southern tip of what is now Suluan of Samar Island. They found Homonhon to be uninhabited. Warrior natives led by the local chief showed hospitality rather than offer war, to the distraught and unfortunate souls who are undernourished and frail from lack of food of months of voyage. Locals offered food, fruits, livestock. The chief offered Magellan a bar of gold, basket of ginger, banana, fruits, coconuts while Magellan gave the Chieftain Trinket, Red Scarf and Mirror. Chief advised Magellan that their is a big Kingdom of Sugbo to further west in which he could traded with. The following day Magellan arrived in Sugbo known later as Cebu. Natives are called Sugbuanons, now Cebuanos. This is the first evidence that instead of war that normally occur when people of history since antiquity intrudes other lands, war started. But the locals offered their humanity their hospitality to people that needed help and accommodated them. This is a Filipino trait. Unluckily for Magellan he interfered with domestic and political rivalry between two warring chieftains back then Rajah Humabon, King of Indianised Kingdom of Sugbo, and island Muslim chief of what is now Mactan Island Datu Pula known later in history as Lapu-lapu that culminated in the Battle of Mactan in April 27, 1521.
Very true about the sales ladies here, very respectful and not aggressive. It's stressful enough if you get the hard selling & it'll be hard to say no.
*_omg, you have a perfect pointed nose dan. i can see it when you looked up on sweater shop! it looks like a bar of tobleron._*
😅😅😅
Please more interactions with the locals - you guys will soon find out how kind and welcoming Filipinos really are. Nice vlog btw😊 hi from Bella Vista Australia 😊😊
Your new subscriber here in Saudi Arabia. I'm from the Northwestern Mindanao, Philippines
1300 ph pesos is a good price for your hoody. It is equivalent to about 25 US $.
Those jackets prices are expensive plus its all imitation not a good quality. Much more better if you go to a department store they can offer a good quality and not. Imitation
Tip: if they don’t want to get filmed, unless it’s a police or guard that tells you not to, run away! It’s sketchy.
We always remind tourists to budget first because if you run out of money here in the Philippines, it might be difficult for you, especially if you are not used to it, so before going to another place in the Philippines, avoid scammers, and always ask questions.
thank you
If they don't want to be filmed, that's a sign that something is not right hahaha better try different stores before buying anything because some stores would charge more if you look rich or if you are a foreigner
I found your vlog on RUclips with its travel content very inspiring to me, really enjoyed seeing both of you looking sweet and enjoyable to watch, I really liked it, try visiting Bandung city, West Java, Indonesia, and see its art district and tourist spots, how exciting for you to visit 😅
Glad you had a great experience shopping in Greenhills. And it's good that you chose to shop there instead of Divisoria. Even though you can get stuff cheaper in Divisioria, it's much nicer in Greenhills and less chaotic. It's actually a rich area. The residential areas there is were the old rich live (as opposed to the nouveau riche.) :)
Beautiful couple! Enjoy your time in the Philippines. I miss it so much.
Hellow guys Abot Kaya meaning is low price of food it's cheap price but the food is good and so tasty the philippines is so many deferent delecacy you chose sisig and Kari kari apretada menudo adubo there's a lot of tasty food in the philippines ok guys enjoy your food have a good day🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
actually they have cheaper prizes here than when you go to Platinum in Bangkok..
Rip off...
We Filipinos loves you guys 👍❤❤❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 enjoy and be safe always 👍🥰❤
Go to BAGUIO CITY. RIDE VICTORY LINER FIRST CLASS GOING THERE.
If you can, try and get over to Bohol and also either Coron or Palawan.
Its nearly a year since I was last over there, currently trying to get a UK visitor visa to bring my girlfriend over here for a month or two this year before I move to the Philippines permanently next year.
Just a common sense tip, never take videos in a fake branded item section of stores, for they sell imitation products, illegal & you would indanger their livelihood, it is confiscated & closed if the real patent owner reported. Local authorities allowed them to sell hidden just for d sake of empathy to earn living, as human survival, call it hypocricy, but please don't advertise them in your vlog.
you are naïve if you think that the genuine brands do not know that Greenhills market (and others) does not exist.
Oh common, everybody knows it, even the authorities.
The authorities know, but they are tolerating it.
You're joking right?? Lol that never happened ever since..
Yah right!! That's a big joke Lol
Mike and Nelly look different now . ❤❤❤
Abot-kaya is slang for budget friendly
Awesome video guy’s 👍👍👍👍💪💪✌️👌🙏
Enjoy sir mom
Betul para penjual ramah dan sopan 34:26
Romblon is awesome not touristy and a virgin beach. If you like the movie the beach with Leonardo De Caprio. It's the same vibes.
“Abot kaya” means budget friendly / affordable.
At 3:51 you can see a Messi jersey there, inter miami, Argentina, PSG, etc. So I guess if you looked closely, you can find Arsenal shirt.
Learn to haggle. Always start 40% of original price.
Green hills is where expensive fakes are. Cheaper fakes won’t be in a mall. They’ll be in more local areas.
Enjoy the philippines guys.. Hope u can visit some of our top tourist island destinations..
Boracay, Siargao, El nido, Coron to name the few.. Stay safe guys.. 👌🙏🇵🇭
Hello beautiful couples,, im new follower here, i just saw ur vlog in yT, and i really inspired ur vlogs guys ,, yes right Filipinos are really friendly and welcoming this our traditional, welcome my country and have fun ur vacation here, im a diver in Malapascua cebu, i also dive different islands, like big dream boatman island palawan, station 1 Boracay. Love the Pinoys. Carefull with taxi drivers
ABOT-KAYA is roughly “affordable”… a good deal.
New subscriber here, just happened to see your video, i find it inspiring & genuine. Thanks for sharing your journey in the Phils. May i know the name of that market where you bought your sweaters with hood. Thanks. Wish you enjoy the most of your stay.
Try to visit BGC and Makati to see the more modern part of Manila before you go to the islands...
It is obviously a "fake market" or knock-offs as you point out so they would not want to be raided, right? It us true all over Asua, abd esoecially in HonKong wherw shopkeeper shout or chasw you out!
Started to go to the Philippines about 10yrs ago and yeh struggled to find mens clothing and definitely no football tops 😂 ( gooner too )😊😊 enjoy the rest of ur stay ,but would def say visit other island that locals recommend as Boracay over rated
P1,300 for that pullover with a hoodie is just about right but if you haggled you could have gotten it for maybe P200 less but if you say the shopgirl is worth all the trouble, then that’s a good deal.
Abot-kaya meals are affordable meals. Not pricey.
Tapping the customer's money over the remaining store items after you made your first sale of the day is quintessential Filipino superstition. 😅
foreigners go to boracay, coron, el nido, siargao locals go to guimaras, tablas island, romblon and siquijor.
Careful…some materials shrink when you stick them in the dryer
If your looking for chieper and a diverse variety of brand new clothing i invite you to Taytay rizal
You read that wrong. It was sisig(see-sig) not sausage. Sisig is a pork dish. Its also a good late night meal paired with beer.
Filipinos are chill but foriegners is more on being alone and more space and or privacy so my advise to them skip them or avoud them when you know these are filipinos but if your are in & chill join them.
i 'm surprise the locals are not rippin you off as foreigners. its really the same price they give locals and maybe even less judging from the quality of the clothing. i think they even charge me more even when i'm in the cheapest mall in philippines which is divisioria.
Abot-kaya is a slang word for affordable.
🤗🤞❤️🧔🌹👩🦰🤳
That jacket with hoodie i think thats double price..😅
Giligans theme is based from an american comedy series in 60's "Giligans island"... so its more like a filipino retro diner
If the owner or seller is taiwanese, they like to be on cam.most of them have no official papers😅😅😅
That is definitely not sausage. It is “SISIG”
@12:34 with the Blue Stripe Polo she looks like (the late) Karen Carpenter.
do you guys read comments? just a genuine question because many people are suggesting good recommendations for places here in the comments
I think that food you ate with chicken teriyaki and rice is called sisig not sausage. It's a filipino dish with pork face or ears that's why it's crunchy.
The lady who said you are not allowed to do filming is hiding from authorities because they are selling fake items or maybe she is in trouble that's why she's afraid to be filmed, she is indeed annoying 😆😂
Both of u are a nice couple😊
“Abot-kaya” means affordable
Abot-kaya = affordable
Abot-kaya means affordable.
"abot kaya" means reasonable price
Half the fun of going to Greenhills is haggling for the best price. Believe me they are not losing money. Your hoodies, you could've gotten it for PhP 900-1000.
😍😍
Try Mang Inasal the 3rd most popular after Jollibee and Mc Donald. They have the best chicken BBQ and it is very cheap then try Halo-halo most like by foreigners. Go to Baguio City and ride the first class Bus Victory Liner. Baguio is the most beautiful city in the Philippines. Do not forget to do the Canyoneering in Cebu the most popular activity in the Philippines favourite all by foreigners.
*_abot-kaya means cheap or affordable!_*
Get an extra suitcase for the shopping stuff
you can take video here, u just need to get permit and its easy
Abot Kaya means affordable
Other filipino food must try
1. Crispy pata
2. Sour soup pork or seafood
pls try visit BGC and SMMall of asia
Sizzling Tofu in Max’s Restaurant is delicious .. you should try Max’s fried chicken, too
I think yo can take Videos there... you must talk first to the Admin thru the Security Guard....
Maybe they don't have Fair Price that is why they don't allow videos in some Stores... they are doubling the price and start to ask for 50% discount.
Abot-Kaya means AFFORDABLE😀😀
Hello! Dan and Beth, a subscriber and fan here from Cebu, Philippines. Hope you will go here in Cebu. It is one of the top tourist destination in the Philippines aside from Boracay, Palawan(El Nido & Coron) and Siargao. Cebu can offer you diving spots in Moalboal, nice white sand beaches in Bantayan Island, Waterfalls in Badian which you can do Canyoneering and Whale Watching in Oslob. Hope to see you and visit us here in Cebu.
Hope you will meet also Lucy and George a fellow youtuber “The Juicy Vlog” and they are from UK.
You should check Divisoria for the variety of Football jerseys
yes under 500 peso prices
24:50
“Abot kaya” means inexpensive/affordable.
By and large, Filipinos eat rice much more than the meat and vegetables. (e.g.: 75% rice; 25% meat and veggies)
It's okay. The product is worthy and there's no need to negotiate the price as the seller is kind. RE "ABOT-KAYA" ("Abot" - Reach while "kaya" - afford) but if you connect the two words, the word will be different, Abot-Kaya will become affordable/ reasonable.
Watching from California😊 I miss my country 😢 Oh, I missed shopping in Greenhills. It’s a great place to shop many things A-Z even electronics.
Abot kaya means affordable, when used in food terminology it definitely means value meal. If you want to shop for class A shoes, go to the place called Cartimar.
You were lucky to have tried the infamous SISIG(not Sausage), that's very native and a standard to Filipinos. 👏
Abor kaya means affordable.
I hope you visit camiguin boracay bon bon beach in romblon siargao balabac in palawan
Yah you should try romblon. It is my favoriite island. They have cresta de gallo there. Just amazing.
You misread the menu. You did not order crunchy sausage. You ordered crunchy sisg. :)
Thanks for letting me know 😅
Beth looks like miss universe Dyanara Torres from Puerto Rico.
Best place for the fake market is at Divisoria 168 and 999 Mall, just there in Manila 😊
Abot Kaya in Tagalog means Affordable, stay safe 😊
Hope you can visit historic old Spanish town Vigan city in ilocos sur province❤
hi dan & Beth. you want cheap mall San Juan mall,
I hope your next destination is Bangladesh🥰🇧🇩
Must try the beef bulalo
Good girl Beth not the green X
Count me in your new subscriber here .mabuhay and enjoyyyy.
Dan that is Sisig not a sausage.
