Never done the installation on a Ford; but I have done the install on my son's Grand Cherokee and my wife's M-class SUV (twice - 2 different SUVs). Why pay for the install if you can DIY. Make sure you have the proper kit and dry fit everything. Agree with 'farmer's' comment - don't tighten bolts until it's fully assembled / installed. There's tolerances on the bolts/studs/nuts/holes - that you may need to accommodate.
What yr is your f150 mines a 2011 and came with the factory chrome..i want to change them to some black ones do I think I could just take off the boards part and put on the new ones without taking the OEM brackets off??? Are would I have to use the brackets that came with the new ones
What size are the nuts holding the running board to the frame? The nuts i ordered from Ford says they fit the 2019 F250 but not doesn’t have info on the 2020
@@christopheraroig7531 my Ford had studs mounted underneath already and they took three 8mm nuts per bracket. Four brackets=12 nuts. Would be the same for washers, I dont remember if I used washers sorry.
So the bolts are already pre existing? I dont have to drill any holes in under it?

Where did you purchase the running boards from?

Mine is a 2018. I would think that you could order black boards 2011 and they would be the same brackets. That would be pretty easy.

My stuff all came as a kit. I used a 13mm wrench/socket. So that's an 8m nut to use on the studs under the pickup.
Can you tell me what running board kit you used?
We ordered them through our local Ford dealership. There are many varieties and styles.
@@FarmersWife thank you!
Is this the same for a ford expedition 2011 el
Nice weather 😅
No flat washers or lock washers in the hardware bag? Thats not good.
Nice 😂 weather
anybody know how many and what bolts you need for the running board install?
It depends what you are installing on but my running boards came with the mounting hardware.
@@FarmersWife unfortunately mine did not, they are OEM ford. 8mm x 1.25 is what I’ve read. Not sure which washers to use.
