50 is probably the minimum they’d sell it for, considering the parts count, 60 is what would’ve been expected from LEGO, but yes, 80 is waaaaaaaaaay too much

It’s amazing that they’ll over charge for the set but won’t even include an accurate obiwan print
SupremeLeaderMatt even £75 is way too much for me over here and it shows since it was one of the only sets to not sell out when it was released August the 1st online anyway. I think most other Star Wars sets sold out that released on the 1st apart from this and maybe anakins Jedi interceptor.
For 80eur you can get the parts on bricklink to make 2 of these...

For anyone who wants to modify their Airborne Clone Trooper, the Marge minifigure from The Simpsons Series 2 has dual-moulded arms with orange at the top and white at the bottom, which can be used to make the orange shoulder pauldron!

You could say that for a lot of characters
RAMA P I wouldn’t really class him as a major character in Revenge of the Sith however I do think that given the amount of time since we last got him in a set I certainly hope Lego will make him available next year. I personally wouldn’t really consider him essential in a set like this even if his inclusion would sweeten the deal for me. As much as I would like to get him in a modern day set I don’t think grevious star fighter would have been a good inclusion. Perhaps our best bet might be if we get more clone wars based sets as opposed to episode 3 sets.

And fix all the little imperfections, like addind a stopper to the landing tail, using a grey technic piece instead of blue, grey piece instead of black for the cockpit, and hiding the tan part, and a shoulder thing

My old Clone Wars Souless One is in pieces, so I was thinking of buying this, but then I saw the price, and worse yet; the figures.
They should've put Phase 2 Commander Cody in there.

If they added Grievous’s Wheel Bike, A Varactyl (Obi-Wan’s Lizard Thing), and a second Airborne Trooper, then maybe this set would be worth $80. As it is, $50 max.

Eitan Frank I could exclude the wheel bike since that was released in a £20 back in 2014 however they certainly could have included the lizard and another clone trooper since that clone is not included in any other sets currently so it should have included another one.

For the overall amount of stuff, I wouldn't mind paying $60 at most, but $80 is way too much for this

I think because its star wars they think it should be worth more than it is
Looking at price per part it should be around 40 maybe 45. So ok we have 3 figures and the Star Wars license so make it 50 or 55. That's the realistic MSRP this set should have had. On the open market it would be sold at 20% off as is basically always the case with Lego these days, so we end up back at 40-45 ish. 80 bucks is plain and simply ridiculous.
Dealers won't earn anything under 60. And that's already a tough sell.
At this point I think Lego is just trying to gauge how far they can go. They just want to experiment and find out how stupid we actually are. If they end up making more money by selling less but at higher prices that's probably fine by them.
So please I implore any of you, don't buy it. If you're a dealer, don't order it, you'll just make losses off this thing. Show Lego that they can't get away with their out of hand pricing strategy. Vote with your wallets cause that's the only thing a company will listen to.

I don't think it's a good move for lego sets to be getting more expensive in this economy
yeah they wanna be all premium, just like smartphones that cost like a thousand euros now when theyre new
and people buy it as a luxury accessory because its status.
maybe lego hopes to achieve this apple iphone glory too, where the people love to buy it the more expensive it gets.
in reality though, it just turns everyone off.
i mean i got my adult responsibilities, sure i could dish out 80 euros for a nice lego model, but i could also buy enough gas to drive for hundreds of km with the same money.
I really want this set because the build looks incredible, but there is absolutely no way that I will pay $80 for this set. I really hope I can find it on major clearance at Walmart or Target.
You could order the parts from Bricklink and get instructions from internet. and make it at a fraction of that price.

Arzola it’s basically one of the only sets out of the summer wave to not sell out on day one on the uk online site so I think this will hopefully receive some significant discount later down the line. I am certainly not picking this up at £75 when the knights of Ren ship costs £10 less and includes the same amount of figures. I guess Lego wanted to release a set at this price and didn’t know which one to pick.

Try getting the second version. It was way better and you can get it cheaper on Bricklink or eBay. I have the Clone wars version and can tell you that it's worth it. It is way better, looks cooler and the minifigure are more interesting.

Was this a "social expirement" from Lego? See how over priced they can make a Star Wars Lego set and see how well it sells? Or did Disney shove in and have a part? I always get nostalgic when I see Grievous’ ship because it reminds of the original Battlefront 2 where it was a bomber and I remember having fun using it to destroy parts of the enemies ship.

I thought maybe the Obi-Wan was supposed to represent Obi-Wan while he's stealing the Soulless One, since he just got shot off the cliff and maybe his clothes were damaged. But I went back and watched it and nope, he looks completely unharmed after that. Weird choice
well Then, it looks nice buuuutttt... it needs to be about $20-$30 cheaper, and this really needed a phase 2 Cody, it’s also baffling they used mustafar obi-wan.

That's right! It was literally just an oversized speeder and grievous + windu. For me and for most other people, it was just a minifigure kit.

The price for this is just insane... this is getting into Duplo territory for prices which is more justified because the pieces are bigger. This should be $45 $50 MAX.
What I don't get is, they used to have a Buildable Figures version of Grievous, which I really liked and bought at the time, and the panels for his body were all tan colored.
Why is his minifig version colored white instead?...
vtr0104 the last set to include grevious was also coloured in white. I think it’s just an excuse to reuse figures same as Obi Wan from another cheap set.
I personally think white looks better, and in revenge of the Sith he looked white, not tan.
Snotty Piglets In his death scene he absolutely looked tan, in battlefront II the EA version he is white sometimes and tan other times, and in clone wars he is tan.
Man, I was so excited about this one. Grievous is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, the design and colors look perfect, and I'm always down for another Airborne Trooper... but I can barely justify the price for this.
This should be €/$ 50 at the max and include the correct Obi-Wan, though I would maybe pay 60 if it came with a tan Grievous and a new Phase II Commander Cody.
