- Two bystanders managed to subdue a gunman who opened fire at an LGBT nightclub in the US state of Colorado, it has emerged.
The attacker killed five people and left 17 others with injuries at Club Q in Colorado Springs on Saturday night.
Officials named the "heroes" who halted the attack as Richard Fierro and Thomas James.

@Steven That shooter is an amateur. Using an AR-15 in close quarters where it is so easy to grab the barrel or the barrel shroud? For close-in work you use something compact, maybe from the H&K platform, like the MP5 series. If on a limited budget, an M-10 would suffice. Both are difficult to be taken off of you.

My heart, yet again, goes out to families I don't know but I know that they're grieving. If I could take away some of the pain, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Yet again there will be the "we'll look into tightening gun laws" words, but the politicians are too afraid of the gun lobby to do anything about it. They're as cowardly as anyone who hides their ideals behind a mask of sorts, like gun fanatics, the kkk, etc. If they truly want to put an end to the ridiculous number of mass shootings there are (let alone the one-on-one or suicide deaths, of which there are _far,_ *far* too many), they'd make a start in creating sensible laws.
It's a shame our politicians are too worried about the car lobby, too; gun deaths and car deaths are around the same every year. We should really just ban both of them.
After that, we can start banning knives; the knife lobby can sit and spin.
