Ossege reveals that her best friend died beside her while she lay on the ground, not being able to move after being shot in the back by shooter, Ethan Crumbley. Crumbley still awaits sentencing

Thier college is Dutch and French Culinary school. they Never knew a US citizen unless it was my friends and their children visiting for vacation!

What an all-around incredible human! Her strength and vulnerability in telling her story, was incredibly moving. And her vivid descriptions of the horrors she experienced were gut-wrenching.
Solving math equations in her head while stroking her dying friend's hair, laying in a pool of her own blood? Jesus. And the irony of it being on the same day she was teaching 6th graders about bullying? Crushing.
I hope she continues to receive all the care and support she needs.
And im grateful there was someone beside her to provide quiet reassurance.

She described her experience so well, so eloquent. Moving. She's so strong as are those surrounding her in love. I cannot imagine going through the amount of pain on so many levels as she is. She's a warrior for love.

My nephew was there at the michigan state shooting..he was right in his room, around the corner from the shooting..he was told to stay there for many hours before he was allowed to leave
As an MSU alum, I'm so glad to hear that they are helping Kylie with accomodations. I live about 6 miles from campus and if it wasn't weird, I would go there and hug her.
This poor baby, my heart shatters for her and everyone else who went through what they did. I became disabled from many spine diseases at 19 and now at 29 all I feel is pain 24/7 like she’s talking about. People who don’t know what it’s like to not function like a normal person from severe pain and can’t stand or sit for long periods because the pain is 10/10 everyday. You can’t fathom it unless it happens to you and you go through years of it not just the kind where you have pain for a few months then you heal. This never goes away. 💔sending her so much love. I’m in Michigan too, and not only did they go through this shooting but many of them who went to MSU experienced a shooting lockdown again once they got there. Absolutely heartbreaking

I went to OHS. Each and everyone’s story leaves a mark on my heart, but Kylie’s is one of the stories that stick out most. You don’t always have to be strong, but your strength is so inspiring. You are such a light in this world and your community is always behind you. ❤️
Huge props to Mr. Weaver too. He used to be my principal and genuinely cared about us, so I’m not surprised he was there to help.

I just realized this was on Law and Crime and not WNEM. I am thankful that this is finally getting the reach it should. This is so utterly heartbreaking. I hope that she, and everyone else involved, finds healing, on both a physical and emotional level. This is devastating.

@@yoshiwoollyworld No that was Jackie Matthews who went to a school nearby sandy hook when the shooting happened there she suffered a PTSD stress fracture in her back I met her a few times a while back through a friend of mine who was also friends with her
I love how she described her survivor's guilt and what her spinal injury has really meant for her, and the fact that she will have to live with this disability for the rest of her life. I hope the shooter's parents take all of this into account and understand the damage that they have done by neglecting their son and by making a weapon readily available to a mentally ill child.

Me too, it terrifies me that they start to all blend together. I feel terribly for all the victims and their families, but the only ones that really stick out in memory are the elementary school ones.
If you aren’t from Michigan, it wouldn’t be surprising that you don’t remember. This one hasn’t gotten as much reach as the others. It is also the first case of the parents being in trial for it as well.

My heart dropped when the victim said she’s @ MSU. On 2/13/23, a mass shooting occurred on the campus. 3 students were killed and 5 others injured.
What an amazing soul. I have no doubt she will make a positive impact on everyone who meets her.

The US should have to financially support every single disabled student victim of school shootings in the custom considered exceptional by economic standards. Also anyone employed by that school and first responder that was injured as well. This is an American burden.
At the very least, gun buyers should have to purchase insurance policies to pay off gun shooting victims. Just like we all have to buy car insurance, mandatory law, to pay off in the event of car accidents

I'm not joking when I say that "pre-traumatic stress disorder" needs to be recognized as a thing. Imagine being an entering freshman there in the fall of 2022. More effective measures are needed to make schools safe.

I was hearing more and more and more about school shootings after I had dropped out (never went to HS) and it was. terrifying. I have 4 younger siblings and the anxiety I feel when I know they are going to school, and how common these are, is so scary. No matter children or teens, the fact that we can't trust in our schools is just so sad, it's horrible all around.

It was sad listening to this and the day in 6th grade listening to my male math teacher tell me his daughter was in the school bathroom during this tragic event at this school I can't believe my teacher had to realize his daughter could have been lost. Bless this event with good intentions and to the injured and families of the wounded...

When i listen is s bizarre im like feeing so sad for her situation but on the other hand so incredibly angry that law makers in US has effectively listened to these stories over and over again after so many mass shootings and choosing to take money and power over actually trying to provent them. And i feel proud that i live in a country that in the 1990s we our only school shooting in scotland and law makers changed laws around restricting guns and safety and now we noone longer have any mass shootings at all. Basically our country cared enough about its citizens more than it cared about money.

I was at pcep, I was at Oxford. I was also at Michigan State visiting. 3 shootings. For me to go through back to back was the most horrifying thing I’ve ever experienced
My heart breaks for her. I was born with a bad back and know what it's like to be in constant pain every single day. It does hot hard every single morning. Mine was always there, and by the age of 15, I knew something was wrong, that not everyone had this constant pain. I'm almost 50 now. I pray that technology improves enough in her lifetime that she will one day be able to live without constant pain.

I'm guessing shooter was still active, he had to get to shooter. He knew that medics would be along to help victims.

I feel so bad for everyone that’s been affected by these tragedies. So many lives are altered…. I applaud Law enforcement for doing proactive work to stop potential threats ahead of time…..
This is what he wanted to see people in pain and fear .So he got what he wanted.That is what he wrote in his journal.
The fact that so many people told the school officials that the school shooter is planing this but no one took it seriously. Some even stayed home because of those rumors

The shooters parents are both in jail with no chance for release. Both have been charged with 4 counts of murder. I doubt they will ever see civilian life again.

When they say “injured” several more, those are BASICALLY casualties as well, and this proof, that needs to be stressed… not that even one causality isn’t too many, but just saying…
This traumatic event will be with her & the other survivors forever. I hate that she had to endure this. She's a strong girl. One peice of advice I want to share with her if she should read this, is be careful with the opioids should you be taking them. I wish I had someone to tell me that after my car accident at 17. Where I received a torn aorta, broken femur, crushed pelvis, fractured lumbar & a fractured tibia. Try CBD and other natural treatments for pain. Also, pray.......God is with you sweetheart always remember that.
