How This SOUTHERN BOY Does MONGOLIAN BEEF - New Favorite Asian Beef Recipe!

- If you're looking for new Asian recipes to make on the griddle, then you've got to try this crispy Asian beef, our version of Mongolian Beef on the griddle. Don't come at me... I know that vegetables and noodles aren't traditional - but this Chinese beef recipe was fantastic anyway!
The secret is tossing the sliced steak in cornstarch so it gets crispy outer layer as it cooks on the griddle. And the cornstarch also helps thicken the simple Mongolian beef sauce too. The wife and I devoured this one... hope y'all enjoy!

you guys should be at 1 Million subscribers .... another outstanding video ... best backyard cooking channel on RUclips !!
WOW....i wish ahhhah really appreciate that thinking though...really do
They really do have a great channel.
The recipes are great, but the rapport between you and Amy, to me, makes your videos the best. Keep cooking brother.
This is a tasty recipe. I used NY strip steaks and added chicken thighs for a beef or chicken option. I do need to work on how-to keep the noodles from sticking together. I would also add more cabbage, and other veggies like broccoli and bean sprouts. Adding the butter & red pepper flakes to the noodles is a definite pro tip. It adds very subtle hint of heat. Very nice touch.
Chef I ain't nobody but your knife skills are 100+
I’m so glad you included your cleaning instructions.
Looks great. I can almost smell it.
So nice to see you two having so much fun together! "Husband of the year" award - "Wife of the year" - too? - Thanks so much! - Cheers!
This dish was excellent and so easy. We have to watch our budget so used pork steaks. Started griddling 6 months ago and would like to thank you for all I have learned from your videos.
Hey thats awesome....really appreciate that...
I dig content like this. I pretty much think that I've got my beef/pork/chicken game dialed in. I'm looking at stuff like this more and more.
Love the technique here! 🎉
I love Asian dishes on the flat top
Absolutely....
Neal, When I stir-fry using beef or chicken I always velvet them makes all the difference in looks and taste. I enjoy your different take on your cooking style and what tickles your taste buds….thats what cooking is all about enjoying how other people cook and getting ideas from them. An interchange of encouragement wrapped around one’s taste buds! Nicely done mate do more stir fry’s!
Really looked good Neil and Amy, fantastic job on the flattop. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and keep up the fun you all have. Fred.
Boss, you hit me right in the taste buds again 😋. It may not be as traditional as some recipes, but it looks delicious! Well done 👏
That crispy beef is what set this whole thing up...cheer bud
That looks absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to give it a try! Thank you Neal and Amy!!
Looks great, nice idea for something a little different, can’t wait to try! Thanks!
I love your content but think you hammered that beef. You can make a marinade with sugar, a bit of corn starch, soy and a bit of baking soda. Needs only about 20 minutes and then hit the grill for 1 minute on either side. Great maillard reaction, the sugar helps, and it will continue to cook a bit as it rests. You will need a sauce at the end for the noodles and veggies but it won't have evaporated on the grill. You are spot on about placing the beef, I do it in a wok and do the same thing. You want every slice hitting the hot surface for a short period on each side, piles aren't helpful in that regard. Thanks for sharing, I am sure it was great despite my beef ramblings.
FEED that hungry woman. This is something I will try making. Fascinating to watch. I need to get more into cooking the veggies on griddle. THX.
Holy moly! That Asian stuff gets me every time! You’re making me search for NY strip on sale!
That looks so delicious. Nicely done 👑. Awesome job of cleaning your griddle afterwards. ✌️
Enjoying your videos!!! Gonna share your content with my friends and family. Go Navy!
I've never cooked it like that before. Thanks for some new interesting ideas. No wrong just delicious.
That looks fantastic!👍😊
Looks so good! And if you can find dry Lo Mein noodles in TN, I'm sure I can find them at my local Kroger :) I also need to check out that Chili sauce! You two are awesome, thank you!!
Wow that looks good! Gonna have to try it.
I made my first Asian dish on the griddle the other night. I need to remember to use the method you show here so the sauce doesn’t reduce so quickly. Thanks for sharing that method again! Every video I pick up something new! So thank you for the great content!!
And for chili crisp - I haven’t had the brand you showed, but my favorite is Lao Ga Ma. It is excellent compared to the others I’ve had.
Another favourite recipe, I need a blackstone bbq for Mothers Day!
Just bought the treager flat rock. Can't wait to start cooking on it. Definitely gonna cook up some Asian food soon.
Awesome
Excellent thanks
Neil, or Neal, lol, that dish looks absolutely delicious, another masterpiece from my favorite cooking guy. I will definitely have to try this. 👍👍
John, your food looks great.. I noticed you using your griddle and the beef plus others seem scrumptious.
Used to have this in Taiwan. There was a great place by the hotel in Taipei. Outstanding!
As you were plating it, I was thinking a Sriracha drizzle would be perfect, and then…
Nice job, and I agree with noodles vs rice. Gotta do this.
Stunning Neal, looks amazing 👏. Cheers brother 🍺
Thanks 👍
That looks great, love cooking Asian food outside on the Flatrock.
So good
That looks good!
Great recipe to create the dish, super griddle instruction and use, of course the video work matches the griddlin. Combine all three, that is why this is the source for good griddlin. Going to have to search for some of the ingredients when we go to the "big stores". Great job.
Your wife and family are so lucky!😋😋😋😋
It looks amazing
TY.....
Dang, this looks amazing. We just got the smaller 22” black stone adventure griddle for camping. Brand new to griddle cooking. I’m here to learn. 👍
My goodness, ya killin me man! That looks SOOOOOO good!
I wasn’t hungry a few minutes ago…NOW I am!
Great job! ❤
TY
Damn! I bet that smell off the beef cooking when you were adding the sauce must have been amazing!
Love your channel!
So as a Navy Seabee what did you do in the Navy? Squid?

I see why Tommy sold all his flat tops. no way he can compete with the king lol awesome job
If you ever do a non cooking video I would like to see how you keep a sharp knife. This recipe looks great. Thanks.
I have been asked that alot...i did a video on what knife I use and why....then I was going to a sharpening video..and never got around to it...
Making this for dinner tonight. I just found this channel this morning while trying to learn to make crispy hashbrowns, then this popped up. 🔥
Welcome aboard! I appreciate the support...
Love the recipe! Keep up the great work. Please, call Amy , Amy.

Have you seen the new Camp Chef Gridiron 36? Would love to get your take on it
That looked good, I just turned someone else on the griddling and I told them to watch you.
I want to know what kind of cutting board was that? It sounded like stone of some sorts.
That looks DELICIOUS! I wish I had smell-o-vision on my TV.
So.......THAT"S how it's done in southern Mongolia.............who knew?😉
My god that looks good
Hey I tried to respond to your message on FB and it says I cant...its about hanger steak.....I think it would work...just of course make sure you cut against the grain and super thin
@@TheFlatTopKing ya i was thinking that to
always againts the grain
Thanks for the awsome video neal
Happy Father’s Day Neil and thank you for your recipes, they are spot on. I made the Mongolian beef today for the family and last night the chicken Quesadilla and both were outstanding. New to griddle cooking but love it - just have to balance it with my grill and pizza oven time.
Looks like you were either running the griddle too hot or need to use an oil with a higher smoke point. Otherwise, looks delicious.
I have Yum Yum! Trade?😝 oh, oh…. Oh
ahhhahh very true
Why would someone take time out of their day to watch the video and then add a thumbs down?! This is great content!
Well i appreciate that...truly
Give you some Beef😂😂
ahhahahaha
Wow that beef is so over cooked!
Hey Joe, you should start up your own cooking channel and show us all how it’s done.
What kind of oil are you using?
any high heat will work...i use avocado oil
