I will never forget the first time I heard of this band on the radio on some low budget radio station playing "I will follow". Started asking my close friends if they've ever heard of some band called U2...The 5 of us have been life long fans since then. Greatest band of all time! Can't wait to see them in Boston next month!
I'm a die hard fan and was at the Joshua Tree tour in Montreal in 1987. I now live in Vancouver and was at the Joshua Tree tour 2017 Vancouver opening show. Though it was wonderful in its own way, Seattle's show truly kicked our ass. I was hoping to hear Bad (though we got some other great vintage tracks), along with the opening show of the tour with all of its rusty nuances. I also got to see it with my best friend who was at both the '87 show along with this, the 2017 show. He flew out from Philly for the reunion. So yes, I feel blessed. I'm happy that the show appears to be evolving and morphing into what it should be.. A celebration of this miraculous album along with a number of variations and surprises in each city. Man, do I ever love this band. If you're a fan and have the slightest chance to see this tour, dive in head first as I promise it will stay with you unlike any other U2 show. One love.
Beautiful words. Thanks for sharing. I can't even recall how many gigs of theirs I caught in 1984-85, then in Syracuse in 1987 (I'm in the video looking preppy), and I stalked them again on 2005 on the Vertigo tour. So you can imagine how flooded my emotions are at hearing these songs some 30+ years later. Just grateful that they still mean what they sing and sing what they feel.
Ohhh I tried Brian to grab tickets, but SOLD OUT :(( I been a fan since since day 1 "I will Follow" hit the airwaves back in the early eighties. I went to see the Unforgettable Fire Tour and when then played Pride....the back of the stage was illuminated with MLK's photo..... Their was not a dry eye in that entire arena.
Dj Toman Wow, and I thought that I was a die hard fan! :) I love hearing various U2 stories, especially when they're described using specific emotions as this is what U2 does so well live.. They create a space where you will feel as a collective AND as an individual. This show in particular drives this home and like you said, I'm so happy that the band feels this album as much as we do some 30 years later. I went into a veritable trance during Exit and Ultraviolet, especially due to that brilliant screen. Thanks again for sharing DJ. I'll be sure to look for you and your preppy attire in the video. One love!
Jason W Jason! There are still ways to see a sold out show (that don't involve a second mortgage for expensive tix). Look around on Craigslist as I saw a number of reasonably priced tickets the week before our show in Vancouver. Give it a shot as I'd love for you to experience this sublime tour. Wow. That image of Pride with MLK's image and not a dry eye gave me the shivers. Thanks for sharing that! I absolutely love when Bono is in the zone and is on point when he speaks.. He killed it in Seattle with a little speech about social movements and in this tour, there's a brilliantly clever bit about Trump on the glorious screen just before Exit (200 ft by 45 feet in ultra HD).
Thank you so much. Around 4:57, "Whatever it is, let it go" begins, then becomes "You know what is." Bless all those people waving their arms like church. Oh yes, it is church.
apple-sauce I am pretty positive the OP did not mean actual religious church, but rather a church for the inner soul - I worked at this particular show (guest services) and when this song came on, it was MAGIC. The world truly fell away for me...this is my favorite song from them; it goes way back with me, trying to hold myself together...
Bad, my all time favourite U2 song, but I agree with one of the comments, the 1985 version when he was so high singing this song with long hair? Still rocks the best...
I think I'd trade Bad for MLK that we got in Vancouver. But I sure was surprised by MLK and sang along the whole way. It's a song I sometimes sing to my son as he goes to bed, so great to hear live. Seattle got a third encore too, I Will Follow. Maybe we were too apathetic to cheer them back out in Vancouver. Notes for the Seattle show say I Will Follow was not on the setlist.

I flove 'Bad"
Love the way U2 have become more organic the older they´ve become injecting new pathos into their classics. It´s Artful.
Fantastic group, fantastic song, fantastic performance!!!! U2 forever...
Just amazing, greatest bad ever
Thank you! I was there with you, awesome show :)
so hard to pick "one" song, but BAD was always right there for me. just beautiful work.
This song takes the listener to places other songs can't reach! #U2 #Bad
I was there. An amazing performance. Never will forget it.
Maybe one of the best performances of Bad that they've played in a while!! The band is sounding truly magical on this tour!! Great vocals Bono!!#
GREAT GREAT GREAT SONG....KEEP ROCKING
STILL THE BIGGEST BAND ON THE PLANET

Nah they are good but they are not Queen are they........
Kevin Ruscoe no they re not , they re u2 a band who had more success then queen before Freddie passed away in 91 , sorry sport nice tty
Adam Guitar no they didn't were greater then Queen at the 80's Search in internet.
Adam chill out - I just prefer Queen and to be honest they were the better band just look at Liveaid...........
Masterpiece Forever!

Bad, my all time favourite U2 song, but I agree with one of the comments, the 1985 version when he was so high singing this song with long hair? Still rocks the best...

I hope they play this at the Metlife in NJ concert. One of my all time fav songs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_(U2_song)
Seattle got bad and I will follow... Not too shabby... Vancouver didn't.... :(
I think I'd trade Bad for MLK that we got in Vancouver. But I sure was surprised by MLK and sang along the whole way. It's a song I sometimes sing to my son as he goes to bed, so great to hear live. I will follow was linked to Mother's Day apparently...
'A boy tries hard to be a man his mother takes him by his hand... '
The song is about his mother, actually.
Yuppers
audiofreak he sang it on Mother's Day :) to his mom
GOSTEI ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
One question, you can enter the concert photography camera with removable lens
I think BONO is using some Rogain or something like that.
Is that a camera on Edge's guitar head?
Very nice reference to another great american songwriter. Let's find out who of you also recongized it?
semingly bono has lost his voice. would love to know where he got this new one.
Thank god there is a teleprompter...
Yeah him looking at it gets distracting a bit lol. I wonder how the other guys remember their parts?
Rez As, long as they play these phantastic songs it is OK for me 😊
Yeah, I know that him forgetting words is common now.
Rez that's why they didn't play Homecoming for 16 years, Bono couldn't remember the lyrics. Even in 2001, when they tried it, he could barely sing it.
With enough rehearsal, you can rely on muscle memory for a great deal of playing an instrumental part.
DIO BONO .😄
old Harry potter
Been watching U2 live since 84, the least you expect is the singer to have rehearsed. This is worse than a tribute band tbh
This is really bad.
His voice @liveaid 85 was so much better.
Jan Klaasen it's different, but in my opinion, it's still good
LOL- his voice was better at the age of 25 was better than at the age of 60?? SHOCKING
Bono cant sing anymore. Glad I kept my money
DJ Well you are just a deaf stupid deuce bag!!! Obviously knows nothing!!!! Piss off then fuck head...
