I am speaking of the bombers, the American plane designed for world war 2 but due to the wartime effort, it was introduced to the early cold war. The name of this aircraft is commonly known as the B-36 Peacemaker, Magnesium overcast, and the plane that never dropped a bomb in anger along with a funny joke told by the men who’ve flown and worked with her during its service, six turning, four burning" into two turning, two burning, two smoking, two choking and two more unaccounted for. The reason for this slogan was due to the massive unit of a plane this was, it was powered by 6 engines designated the P&W R-4360 Wasp Major and 4 J47-GE-19 Jet engines modified to run on a select fuel that the plane was carrying with later modifications and iterations of the engines the last variant produced were able to achieve 395 mph(409 at combat speed, in war thunder this is known as WEP), at its optimum altitude it would be 410 mph at 36,400 feet and its cruising speed being 227 mph at 5000ft this would change along with the flight as you would below to avoid radar and then climb to a higher altitude to avoid confrontation with the enemy speaking of the armament. The Peacemaker could be view as big and slow to some but it can protect itself with 16 20mm type M24A1 guns, 2 of these cannons in turrets there are 8 turrets throughout the aircraft the nose, tail (the tail is the first in American bombers to have a radar-based defense with a AN/APG-41A gun-laying radar), uppermost and rear top fuselage, and lastly the rearmost bottom turrets. These defenses could be stowed within the aircraft while in flight to reduce drag, at any point in time you could have up to 2 turrets which is four deadly fast firing cannons trained on your aircraft, the fire rate and the type of ammunition being a API and an HEI shell the gunners can make quick work of any unwanted foe. There was a featherweight program to reduce the weight of the aircraft. This allowed an increased speed and rage but not without its drawbacks. 'featherweighting' mods. (I) was the removal of all defensive guns except the tail gun, and (II) was the removal of the bunks, stove, and fire suppression system. For nerd reasons, both mods together were (III). This was implicated late in its service life as the rise of jets with higher altitude hindered the advantage of the aircraft in its high altitude at the time it was built and meant for. She was designed for WW2 if Britain was ever lost the Americans would need a way to bomb Germany and come back home. With a range up to 8221 miles and a radius of 10,650 miles along with a maximum bomb capacity of 86,000 pounds, the Peacemaker could start and end a war in a fell swoop. From its development in 1946 to its beginning trials in 1948 and its service from 1949 to 1959 she was the backbone of the United States Airforce which was starting out but made a name for itself. I was surprised that the Fairey battle bomber isn't in the game Yet. But so far I love the Halifax heavy bomber it's Pretty good at climbing to the sweet spot ( Which is around 20,000ft) real easy.
I remember when Kermit Weeks brought his Sotherland to Oshkosh. It was moored in Lake Winnebago until he finished the facilities for it at Fantasy of Flight
Blenheim Mk II is shown in the video. The original Blenheim was conceived as a heavy fighter and was repurposed because of its inadequate performance in that role.
But yeah the other ones aren't so great. Especially the Wellington. Last I played it a few years ago, it had no climb rate and I kept getting pilot sniped through the back of the bomber.
love the Canberra, I believe there are 2-3 of them down at Cotswold Airfield (Kemble) along with the Few Hawker Hunters The Owner Has (and by the looks of things 2 F-4s there as well now)
There are a lot of bombers that are better than the Avro Manchester for Gaijin to add. Blackburn Skua Vickers Wellesley Fairey Barracuda Fairey Battle Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle Early variants of the Bristol Blenheim and bomber variants of the De Havilland Mosquito
@Vlad Melis None of the aircraft I presented there would be suited a br anywhere near the Do 335. The Skua, Battle and Barracuda are single engined naval light dive/fighter bombers, with the Battle and Barracuda being mass produced aircraft, and the Skua achieved the first air victory of the Second World War when a group of them attacked and shot down a Do 18 (another plane that would be nice to see in game)
@Vlad Melis Really? I believe that a Ki-10 would find it quite challenging to shoot down a B-17, or even a Wellington or Do 17. I don't quite think you get what I'm saying at all. Something like the Skua or Wellesley would be at 1.3 or 1.7, like where the other similar performing light bombers and dive bombers are. I never said anything about War Thunder being close to real life.
Please make a separate gamemode for heavy bombers. So our bases don't get stolen by Strike aircraft, and we don't fall apart by the first burst of machine gun fire from an enemy who sneezes in our direction.
Hidden pieces of History of the Fairey Swordfish and the Lancaster. The Swordfish severely damaged damaged the KMS Bismarck's steering system and the Lancaster actually and literally nuked a battleship with the Tallboy. The Tirpitz sank after literally being nuked by the Lancaster

UK bombers in War Thunder: Apparently made of tissue paper and get popped from halfway across the map by a single burst of fire.
Below are the following specifications for the last variant to be produced with/without modifications

Can you guys make it less hard to get to the next teir. Maybe we can not have a set amount of planes/tanks we need for the next teir, we can just go through the line.
Yeah, in british tech tree, to get a phantom or lightning you need planes in 3 lines now!
@@rokasb9441 yes! So annoying!!! I lost all motivation...😑
@@matiasleivacirici7215 true, i had managed to pick up phantom earlier, but my friend in german tech tree was locked out of his mig21mf with 80k rp left..
no because they make less money that way
i love that it’s a video game channel, but it also gives depth information about history
Fantastic description of the Bombers that served with superb results for the UK. Great video.
We all almost love you war thunder
I was surprised that the Fairey battle bomber isn't in the game Yet. But so far I love the Halifax heavy bomber it's Pretty good at climbing to the sweet spot ( Which is around 20,000ft) real easy.
I still have no idea what the Stirling is doing a tier higher than the Halifax despite the Halifax being objectively superior
Air RB Enduring Confrontation would make top tier bombers actually viable...
More naval enduring conflicts please.
My grandfather's best friend whom i was named after, was a radio operator on a Lancaster in the war, it's a beautiful aircraft

I remember when Kermit Weeks brought his Sotherland to Oshkosh. It was moored in Lake Winnebago until he finished the facilities for it at Fantasy of Flight
"Unique geodetic airframe fuselage structure" that completely disintegrates after one German 20 millimetre hits it.
2:27 fun fact. In ww2, the british set a world record by building a Wellington in under 1 day, and they had made it from scratch
This historical series like brand and nation specific history, etc should be listed in the playlist
Wellington.... ' very resilient' Gaijin have you played war thunder?
The script on this one was on point. Congrats to the wt team resp. For the vids
New war breaks out
Warthunder:HUGE Update coming up
Imagine using a bomber in 2021.
imagine
Just give us RB ec already
Imagine being one shooted by 50 cals
Wait, it happens always!
But if gayjin hates bombers, why are they doing these videos? Ohhh only the money matters.
i love 30 cals at 5.0
Blenheim Mk II is shown in the video.
The original Blenheim was conceived as a heavy fighter and was repurposed because of its inadequate performance in that role.
Whenever I get bored of war thunder, this guy makes me wanna play it💜
3:18 You sure it was most famous for its use against the Italian Navy? Its role in sinking the Bismarck did have something to add to its reputation?

Which nation has the best bomber line for the average (below average lol) player in your opinion?

@@mattodonnell232 Sweden
Halifax is IMO the 3rd best heavy in game after the F.222.22 and the Me 264. And Beaufort is fun to use as a fighter.
But yeah the other ones aren't so great. Especially the Wellington. Last I played it a few years ago, it had no climb rate and I kept getting pilot sniped through the back of the bomber.
Why is the Wellington a shot trap in game? Any shot that comes within 10m of the aircraft get directed into the pilot.
I am missing just one small very important bomber for the British, the Vulcan
Pls lower lincoln and shacleton repair cost
and b 29 ?
@@Merluso415 oh yea its 50k repair cost i dont play the us tech tree i just noticed
love the Canberra, I believe there are 2-3 of them down at Cotswold Airfield (Kemble) along with the Few Hawker Hunters The Owner Has (and by the looks of things 2 F-4s there as well now)
are you going to add the manchester? or maybe the vulcan?
There are a lot of bombers that are better than the Avro Manchester for Gaijin to add.
Blackburn Skua
Vickers Wellesley
Fairey Barracuda
Fairey Battle
Armstrong Whitworth Whitley
Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle
Early variants of the Bristol Blenheim
and bomber variants of the De Havilland Mosquito
@Vlad Melis No
Not at all
@Vlad Melis None of the aircraft I presented there would be suited a br anywhere near the Do 335.
2:09 I used to call it the flying church because of its windows
Great video my favourite and it is perfection
Really nice content and gorgeous attention to detail - but I'd LOVE to see the release of the Valiant, Victor and Vulcan.
The Lincoln stuff was interesting. Also Canberra’s pronounced KAN-brə or KAN-bə-rə, at least in Australia.
A outdated slow biplane vs the biggest most armed ship of ww2
Wellington Straight at Silverstone Circuit is named after Vickers Wellington. There's also Hangar Straight there
Britain must be one of the best forces that ever existed on Earth . Just this tiny island takes worlds and understands radar
"The Swordfish is famous for it's use against the Italian navy in the battle of Taranto" I thought it was famous for it's use against another certain navy against a specific certain ship.
The Sunderland is also known for being the first Bomber to have OFFENSIVE armorments

'Battle' of Taranto. More like a massacre. They destroyed around 3/4s of the Italian fleet with (if I recall) ZERO CASULTIES.
a lincoln succesfulyl chopping off a 335 wings. like thats ever happenned in the game.
without losing it's tail at that too.
I have the dambuster airfix plane on my ceiling, it continues to be my favourite bomber
My late grandad absolutely loves the Lancaster.
The Stirling urgently needs a buff, it is worse in every way than the Halifax despite being br 1.7 higher. Let it have a greater number of 1000lb bombs or lower its br
1.7 higher? Tf you on? It is 4.7, Halifax is 4.0. It does just as well at 4.7, as it has lots of firepower
I never knew how large the Wellington was the size comparison surprised me
The Shack was in service until 1991 with the RAF, not 84.
UK bombers in real life: Sturdy, if somewhat vulnerable planes, escorted by fighters to the target where they rain hell down from the sky.
UK bombers in War Thunder: Apparently made of tissue paper and get popped from halfway across the map by a single burst of fire. Good luck trying to find anyone who’ll protect you on the way to the targets!
5:32 "the avro Manchester"
Gajin what are you planning? You don't usually mention tanks planes and ships outside of your game and don't add them
He's explaining the history of the aircraft?....
I still can’t wait for the day we get the V-bombers in the game
The only problem I see with the Lancaster is the lack of a belly turret. The Germans exploited this weakness during the war but the RAF never added a belly gun turret.
Yes! I needed this to finish school.
