- During WW2, a German company called Junkers was one of the major manufacturers supplying the Luftwaffe with aircraft. But in the beginning it had nothing to do with warplanes. The company was founded in 1895 by Hugo Junkers, who initially wanted to make boilers. In just a decade, though, the world entered the pioneer era of aviation, and Hugo Junkers was leading the charge on a lot of it. His company made the first ever all-metal aircraft and was responsible for the first production passenger aircraft… but what Hugo wasn’t very keen on was making war machines...

Lets be honest.. If the durability was realistic some people would complain as well. And propably push for realistic damage models of other aircraft. Those less keen on historical accuracy could find it offputing, and the game has to be financially successfull..

@@bomberbaja111 I think the thing is, aiming a .50 caliber turret with a mouse is downright braindead.
Aiming a .50 caliber mount with weight, inertia, and momentum? With the precision to hit something going that fast? Under that much stress? Not feasible. Those .50s were made to deter aircraft at best, otherwise just infantry.
By the way, complete assumption. I've never shot down a plane before, surprisingly enough.
Too bad the later Stuka models no longer make this scary diving noise.

EHHHH not exactly, The later Stukas, the D variants, Did indeed have Sirens, Although they were rare, Because the noise was effective at causing phycological damage to the Enemy... TOO effective. To the point it started to affect the Pilots of the Stuka Themselves, Plus, The noise was so loud not only it gave away the Stuka's position for enemy Aircraft, But also caused Ear Problems for the pilots when Exposed too often to the sound.

As the Ju. 87 was implemented into the Luftwaffe, the plane showed the same characteristics as the IL-2... It was an flying Tank that was able to fly even with sever damages, like heavily crippled wings
As someone who mostly uses the JU-87 platform in war thunder I’m quite shocked at how little wing damage it takes for other planes to be in a fixed position or to just go into an inescapable spin. The JU-87 is pretty smart and has some great climb capability’s which I’m able to use to negate the turrets poor field of fire. As well the air brakes make this plane an easy lander so getting this plane back into the air is great. Twenty minutes of dive bomber research and this plane is one of the easiest to fly

@@pbjman5809 and still both Planes were designed as Close-Combat Supporters with surprisingly good flight characteristics and an rather sturdy, forgiving airframe

the Laser Pods also do wonders. And if you manage to break off the wheels, it basically mops the floor with the competition.

I literally saw a guy in RB using the D-5 to dogfight, he won a 3v1 before eventually going down due to more enemies diving on him lmao
@@realkingxyro Might of been me Lmao, i love the D-5, i've gotten myself in so many fights like that i can't remember which is which, i use Cannon Pods for effectiveness and Laser Pods for fun and when i'm too poor to use my Phantom's BRRRRT Pods

The Ju 87, the plane you see at all BR's in ground battles. Most often flown by players who haven't researched much of the air tree and who enjoy face planting a 1000kg bomb on an enemy that recently killed them.

It would be a nice easter egg to add to the Stuka siren: it would temporarily reduce crew skills of ground troops. If you incur the drag penalty by having those sirens, it should at least have some gameplay benefits!

Many player still panic for its siren even in mid tier. Even straffing 7.7 over their top armor may cause them run.

Sometimes when I'm playing and hear the stuka siren I have to check if I have Germany on my team to see if i could be a target

Yeahh the he-111 is super underated
fun fact: pilots of the JU Junkers 87 didn't like the siren as it was too noisy, hence why in later designs it was removed to increase speed and to stop the pilots from being annoyed and loosing hearing
I thought it was removed as it gave away their positions not allowing for supprise attacks.
My great grandfather designed several of Junkers heavy planes before WW2

The stuka is an icon of fear destruction and war itself from its looks to its scream diving from the stars...one of my favorite planes of war thunder.
I am sad to find out the best of Junkers came after he was expelled from his own company. I don't think people know just how important they were, as their engines were the go to for practically everything german by wars end, including yes, the 262, chosen over bmw
Thanks really enjoyed this . Everyone has several planes or tanks that are iconic to them . The Junker dive bombers are but 1 of my favourites .

Interesting how they had angles mentioned on the canopy side screen at 1:43 for diving but can anybody tell me how would they align the bomber with those angles.

When the world to the right goes sideways you know you're in a proper dive.
They only use the angles for reference to the ground for a correct bombing since the early version of the ju 87 (idk what variant) dive bomb 90° perpendicular to the ground

In Dessau, where the original Junkers boiler factory and the first aircraft factory were located, is a whole Junkers museum, showing Junkers boilers, some of the civilian planes and engines. as well a nice model collection of the later military planes and they have some East German jets and helicopters from the cold war era.
It will be interesting to see all the Messerschmitt planes family in one video, sure, a long video, but necessary in my opinion

I still use the one with the 'Jericho Trumpet' and diving LITERALLY vertical and that is the true definition of man.
Believe it or not, I find it to be the best aircraft in the game at ranks II and III. I'm planning to keep at least two Ju-87's up until I reach the jet era.

But the Jerry did remove the Jericho trumpets later in war, because they were more of an alert of incoming bombers than an effort to weaken enemy morale?
i read somewhere that one of the reasons was that since there were no brakes for the blades, it would become just an annoying noise for the pilot on the way back
and it was easier to remove them than to find a way to stop them after you exit a dive
yeah, the sirens were so effective it starts affecting its own pilot beause it literally can't be stopped
I love all of the Junkers and cant wait to someday see the Ju 88 P series in game (Mostly P-3 with a Twin 37mm Bk 37)

I love the Junkers Jumo 205 opposed piston diesel engines for aircraft. Diesel fuel is less likely to catch fire and aircraft can be refiled at sea by submarines or ships, Obviously were talking about float planes.
You forgot to mention the Ju-52/3m, the trimotor "Tante Ju" that was the backbone of Luftwaffe air mobility throughout the war.

I play things like the P-51H, Bf 109 K-4, F2G-1, F-82E. Yet i still make a consistent amount of monry with those. Turn off auto repair if you dont want to take the risk
Another tip will be to wsit for discount. On christmas and wt anniversary (late oct/early nov) there will be 50% disc on all vehicles. VE day has 30% discount. Save up millions and spend it on the sales

Thanx for the video. Just one correction; Ju-87B/D had really good flight characteristics, but insufficient speed. This applies to the type (all divebombers). Even the hero of Midway, the SBD, had this limitation.

0:43 if you look at the tail you can see the swas on the rear tail, personally, as a historic standpoint I would like if they added that because I don't know why but to me it erases a certain feeling of historical accuracy as well as the feeling of power when you're plunging down to drop a payload on a BT-7

@@andym.s.5231 Historical use is allowed its a Common misunderstanding that Games are banned because of Swastikas. Even Wolfenstein wasnt banned because of that. But Publishers simply remove them to avoid problems. I dont even see a real reason here, since warthunder is a online Game made by russians. But even they dont use it.

it mentioned "Recon aircraft" but in Magik Snail Simulator are not yet introduce the same ability as LT & some TDs that report enemy position to entire ally team's radio, map, marking 3D, this is just sad

One of very few ju88's left in existance is just down the road from me, its with a me262, a he162, a bf109 g6, a fw190a8, and of all things, the only bolton paul defiant still in existance

The Ju 88 A-4 is great when it comes to close air support in naval AB. Just remember what JU are flying! 😄

the Stuka's pilot acutally aren't too fond of the iconic siren because the dive sirens would engiange on its own when you fly beyond a particlar speed, and the noise was quite a nusance to the Stuka pilots, later in the war the siren was modified to be able to manualy engage and disengaged, then during the last pahse of Stuka invovlment in the war, they removed it alltogether to save weight and increase performance

The ju 88 c-6 would have rolled homogenous armoured fuselage and even on it's wings to bounce enemy mg bullets and have lots of jet fuel for jet engines

Hey I’m a huge fan of the game and I’ve played a lot and I’ve noticed that it’s really easy to bomb the targets not the main airfield but use the targets and I’d really like to see better flack over the targets to make it more realistic and give a challenge
