Such a good video. Reviews on cars like these are interesting cause the car is trying to do quite a lot of things. BMW have seemed to actually build quite a nice small suv, if your rich and live in the city, this will make sense, it’s getting so expensive now
The x1 m sport looks awesome! But it’s still small for families. I sat in one and opted not to drive because it was small. I haven’t drove one but lots of complaints about the transmission when driving.
It’s all relative and very depending on where you’re from (and used to). I drive a 1 serie with the same transmission and it is fine. It is a dual clutch, but it’s quite smooth. I have also driven this X1 and the transmission has even gotten better. I even ordered one!
I've been driving Fiesta with Getrag 6DCT250 and Kuga with Getrag 6DCT450 for around 10 years))) so, i think i will love this car!)))) thanks for the video!
BMW's reliability has increased significantly that Consumer Reports in 2022 ranked them #3 behind Toyota and Lexux (up from #13). With the higher reliable BMWs being the x1, x3, 3 and 4 series vehicles
4:10. I drive a first gen e84 x1. I could never bring down the middle seat flat by itself. If it was stuck, I just put one of the side seats up again. Basically, the middle seat doesn't stay stuck upright if you push them both down simultaneously. Thanks for making reviews.
When it comes to the naming debate on 28i/35i and 30i/40i respectively, you could also throw in that the former is used for the FWD based platforms while the latter is RWD. Just look at the 2-Series Coupe (RWD) vs 2-Series Gran Coupe (FWD).
Please leave the political comments out. Just let us enjoy the review. That stuff permeates literally every aspect of life and sometimes it’s good to just have an escape from that.
I would like this SUV more if it didn’t have the awkward too tall of a roof, very prevalent on the side view and front view. It seems so unnecessary especially for a 'Sporty' small BMW. It seems to go against what they were trying to portray.
i have realized that in the past few months I have become interested in why other countried, even nearer to Germany pay a high sum of money compared to we in the US .
Enjoyed the review, thanks. Did you try the voice recognition? BMW is putting a lot of emphasis on that, the dial will now gradually disappear from all models. You can control almost everything by voice, even for instance saying "open driver's door half way". I'm waiting for my all electric, AWD X1 called "iX1 xDrive 30" in June/July with 313hp. Battery weight gives it better lower gravity point.
Yeah, we used it a bit, and I'm using it some in this M760i we have now. But there are plenty of times when voice controls aren't ideal, such as when listening to music or when you have passengers.
@@DailyMotor Good point. I do have a friend who particularly likes to control temperature and radio volume but at least for those two items there are buttons/wheel. I believe the voice recognition in some way can differentiate between passenger and driver automatically but can't try that out till I get mine.😁
Yeah its nice...but a civic type r would be my choice at that price point. But thats me a single guy,I can see the young aspiring family man choosing this car over the civic.
@@gregkramer5588 I understand. I think what I was trying to convey was that the pricing of this car and the value it represents is different in different markets. For example an X3 is almost 30% more in the EU. This generation X1 has identical (nearly) interior space to the X3.
Charlie please never change we need your freewheeling thoughts
This the same color i have!! Used at less than 7,100k miles too. I just wish the Msport seats were as comfortable as the base trim
You two are hysterical. You forgot to say "just get a Taos for now".

could you elaborate on the reason you mention at 31:45 about people leasing these kind of car instead of buying it.

What will you recommend between BMW X1 and Volvo XC40

Oooo, I like that logic. Thanks!
the iX1 is sold as a 30i
Please carry on going over the bridge with the big bump, it’s actually useful

Mazda made the 4th Gen(ND) Miata smaller than the 3rd Gen(NC) and it closer to the 1st Gen NA.
Good point! Miata is truly always the answer
What is the base MSRP? There are two different quotes out there of $38,600 and $39,100. And does the automatic self parking feature come standard?
the $500 increase in MSRP was effective with x1 built *after Feb 28th* I believe the date was.

You should test a xdrive 30e.
not available in US/Canada, only the ICE 28i
Living in the US is so lucky. When you guys think that's expensive, it costs 70kUSD here. And btw, there's iX1 xDrive30i
i have realized that in the past few months I have become interested in why other countried, even nearer to Germany pay a high sum of money compared to we in the US .
it's alright... maybe putting it in Sport will deactivate start/stop? but idk if it'll do anything tbh
yeah, putting it in Sport mode deactivates the Auto Stop/Start

@@pferdeschorshi Yes I believe it can!
Our neighbor has a nice looking silver one and she likes it - basically a slightly jacked up 4dr hatch like a Crosstrek but nicer and quicker.
And $50,000 too, so definitely makes complete sense to compare it to a Crosstrek!
Do the back seats slide back and forward? I've seen UK models that do it. POV headtop camera shots are nauseating to watch.
Not the US/Canada models, they're fixed mounted.
@@hawaiiguy1 Thanks
Do the fuel economy test on this please
Coming today!
Missed opportunity to do "28i on" lol
Single center one-eye air vent reminds me of the prior gen S60…don’t like it.

And in 24 you can buy the m35i😊

A fairly pointless car IMO.
the car isn't aimed at americans
@@videos1332 I am value oriented and this falls of the side of the chart. IMO.
