I'll say this. The fact that the X1 is newer probably gives it a big advantage, so it makes me optimistic to see how the next-gen X3 will be. Prior to this gen, I could not picture the X1 being better/nicer to drive than the X3.
Very reasonable comment. I'm not sure why companies like BMW often update the smaller models whilst still selling outdated larger models. You would think it would start at the top and trickle it's way down. I purchased a iX1 recently and whilst I was waiting for the dealer to finish off the paperwork I was checking out other vehicles. I remember seeing the X3 and thinking "who would buy this outdated car brand new?".
I like the X3 Interiors, it's has nice gear selector, cockpit like and more ergonomic dashboard design instead of boring monolithic screen. Exteriors of the new X1 are slightly better other than the flush door handles and absence of exaust pipes at the rear.
When you view on video or images it's one thing, but the new designs when you're sitting in the car itself is so special. Massive improvement. It would be nice to have some physical HVAC controls but you get used to the touch pretty quick and there is always voice commands which work very well.
I have X3 330E and it’s a fantastic car with couple of deficiencies ( reduced trunk capacity due to the high positioned battery, if opening trunk door wile being in the car, your load will slip and fall on the floor, extreme fuel consumption i.e. 13-14 l in winter which wouldn’t bother me if the tank capacity is bigger).Though I think that your test wouldn’t really passed scientific rigor, since your are comparing apples and oranges. G03 and U11 are simply different generations of the car. G03 comes from 01 which was introduced 7 years ago, while U11 was introduced 1.5 years ago. Simply difference in technologies used is enormous.
Hello. I own a PHEV BMW X1 xDrive 30e, U11 and I would like to know how to charge it properly. Does it make sense to try to keep the battery between 20 - 80% as with most fully electric cars, or is this not an issue with modern PHEVs and always charge to full? I've heard that PHEVs have the type of battery that don't mind a full discharge and a full charge. Which would even make sense, given their capacity and limited range in electric mode, where you almost always drain the battery all the way while driving. Thank you for your reply and for other hilarious videos, regards Honza K. All the best for 2024.
The X3 advantage in slightly more roomy cockpit doesn’t seem worth the extra purchase price. Maybe the next-gen X3 will be even larger to open up more of a value-gap between the two models? Then the X5 can be made even bigger to look better value than the X3 again…err this is a crazy game with no winners!
I ordered the x1 30e M-package fully specced except the hitch in february, my delivery date has just been rescheduled from end of august to late oct/beginning of nov :(
2 small kids or teenagers fit comfortably on the X1, when you consider the interest, fuel costs, maintenance and insurance, the X3 is really a lot more expensive and the difference seems to be only in size not in overall quality
@@FrancescoSpighi The only advantage it has is cargo space at the back, but if you consider the additional cost of the X3 it only makes sense if for some reason you really the additional cargo space.
@@FrancescoSpighi That is not true, the X3 has definitely more cargo space, I verified this online and with my eyes on the dealership. The X1 cargo space is reasonable for a family of 4 though.

My favourite Is the X1 😊
You should have compared in standard hybrid modes. Who drives x3 in sport xtraboost???
Had a test drive with the X1, the interior is unergonomic.
@Thomas, great review but who's the owner of the beautiful hair, hands and legs in the passenger's seat?
❤ X1 and the Évoque

they really look great inside out. But my 20yo forester 2.5 xt manual is making 5.7 sec. Stock with ease.. being not electric at all ;)
You forget that this X1 -30e have 240kW and X3 - 30e have 215kW ☝😁
And the 30e gives 5.6 sec -100

Why? The x3 doesn't have any apparent advantage on the x1 especially in terms of space

@@Daniel-ef7nk, this is false. They can hold exactly the same volume. I guess those 20cm are all in the front, ahahaha

Naturligtvis så är det tyska bilar som du får betalt för att tycka är bästa bilarna. Pinsamt
Finns det bilar från annat land som är bättre???
I take blondy home
