You have no idea how much of a lifesaver this tutorial is! I've been looking at plugins to get this same kind of effect for a project for work, but being able to learn this myself is going to be so much more valuable! Love your tutorials and love your work! Thank you!

Thanks Ben, ur tuts are amazing! Love ur content! ❤️
Another tip. You can precomp the Chromatic Aberration, duplicate the original footage, place above the precomp and apply Find Edges. With tint and levels you control the effect then use it as a Luma Matte. In this way you apply Chromatic Aberration in the areas with higher contrast.

I’m not even joking I was thinking about it this week having rewatched “into the spiderverse” and wondered how I could achieve the bleed in After Effects, are you my FBI agent? Jk

Oh my God, I've been emulating this effect for the longest time (using shift channels and moving the layers) but I've been using radial blur and rescaling layers to emulate the "vintage lens" effect--that optics compensation is A HUGE TIME SAVER!! Thank you as always, Ben!

Because I'm a crazy person, I probably would have tied the rotation of the blue and green layers to the red layer ± 120°, then tied the vertical movement to the same, so I could keyframe a single layer. Probably would have even done it to a null.
Fantastic tutorial as usual, Ben, and thanks for the feedback on my countdown video. - Amos
