I just bought a model 3 last a week or two ago and got the free month of self driving and think I am going to sub. I love driving and the instant torque too, but to basically have a chauffeur for 100/month for early morning drives to work when I am tired and shit like that is well worth it in my opinion. I realize this video was filmed about a month ago, but I mine version now can track with sunglasses. I get it isn't for everyone, but once I started trusting it, it became my favorite feature of the car - and there's a lot to love. Always disengage or don't turn it on when I want to get a nice pull for that torque, but like you said...the car damn near pulls hard as hell with the FSD lmao
I did a demo on a Model 3 Long Range with FSD. It was way better than I thought it would be. When it got on the freeway and the car in front was driving slower, it just got over and passed it. 😂
@@JVette01 that's the " game changer " part, it drives better than many people I know. Seniors losing their ability to drive could really use this until they're totally unable to pass the drivers test.
I have the refreshed M3 LR. I received the email yesterday and installed it today. It's a month free because of the robo taxi event. It has gotten a lot better and not having any nag is awesome !!!! If it was two thousand I would definitely purchase it
I think Tesla pushed the FSD to every owner for one complimentary use again for one month 2-3 days ago, and I just tried it out after watching yours, lol. It drives pretty well on the highway as expected, but driving around neighborhood with tons of stop signs and maneuvers, it made my head dizzy 🤣
@@RICHOFFTREES lol, I have yet to try the smart summon but still is worried. I will play it around for several more days to see if I like it, but I am not going to use it around my neighborhood again
I am curious as to how much the Super charging will cost after the free period ends. Self driving scares the bejebers out of me. I rarely use ordinary cruise control.
It depends on where you live, local gas prices, and and type of battery size you have, and the time you doing it at aswell, like for california charging can range between $25 to $35 for a full charge.
But it's best to bring it through stuff only if you are comfortable bringing it through. For example I live in a rural area and there is one turn in my town we're it just can't see the cars coming because it can see through the shrubs. So I never use it there.
Isn't autopilot and FSD two different things?? The latter isn't a sub category of the first. Came to check out how good autopilot is as I hear it's finicky 🤦
Tesla just recalled cars with that system after 4 collisions, one which killed a pedestrian and one that struck and killed a motorcyclist. Apparently it has difficulty in fog, bright sunlight, and airborne dust. It’s a great system but driver beware…always pay attention and be ready to take over. For me, I’m happy having lane centering where my hands are on the wheel but the car is doing the driving on the highway. As in all systems, none are absolutely perfect. Just don’t go crazy and set the car on autopilot and then hop into the back seat and take a nap. I remember as stupid teenagers ages ago, the passenger would reach over and steer the car while the driver ran the gas while leaning low in the car, making it appear the car was driving itself. The looks on people’s faces passing us was priceless. Great video….I never knew how easy it was to setup self-drive. Thanks for posting.
The self drive I’m using is called supervised. You need to be facing the road and paying attention and it does the rest. You can’t nap or get in the back lol

Yeah it drives somewhat human-like haha

Yes, FSD will pass slower vehicles and it will tell you that's why it's passing.

I was wondering. Thought it gave it to me for free because of my safe driving 😅 smart summon is so dope!
I just noticed this too! This was shot over a month ago when it was just a trial period

It’s pretty cheap depending on what time of day and which charger you use. I’ll make a video on that in the future

I think the FSD is more capable than you’re giving it credit for?
This was one of my first times trying it. I've grown to trust it a lot more, and it's very impressive.
6:25 look at its blue line right before you took control it would have done the right thing👍

Hey man I got a question…. Did the golf r feel a lot faster than the gti while rolling, not from a dig… so like 40 to 100 or 60 to 100???
Yes

This is real world testing sharing my thoughts trying it for the first time. And yes, it’s called autopilot with full self drive.
Elon is a genius. Do you have to turn it off to take control or does it sense your imput and let you take contro?
If you steer the wheel or brake it will let you take over

Where did you get this from?!
Do your research, invest in Tesla.
