apparently i need to retype my comment...
this song has gotten me through so many ups and downs, I honestly can't explain how much this song got me through the day ❤
Higschool, 2007. Came home just to listen to andy. Previous to having wifi all over, no high speed 4g and hyperconnectivity. Just me, my bicycle and my red nokia 5200
What a fucking great ride it was. Now im here, 2024, life is still fucking good. Wish you all the readers out there the best of the luck, live your life, love your parents, be good to the elders. Life will reward you
Watching this in 2019, can't belive it's been 13 years since this was released here on RUclips and it's still the number one fingerstyle guitar video to this very day!
Makes you almost wanna tear up a little it's so good
Watched this like 8 years ago and it's still just as amazing
This is the song that is responsible for making me fall in love with music 15 years ago..
Throwback to me being 11 y/o, sitting at my parents stationary Windows XP computer in our "computer cabinet" listening to Drifting on repeat. Such a great piece. Thanks Andy!
I watched this 14 years ago?! Damn... feel old yet? Still the best.
I was in Andy's concert in my Hometown 15min. Ago. Just impressive!
Thirteen years later and I'm still trying to figure out how this dude had enough time to slap his guitar..... truly one of the greats.
This is the reason I started playing guitar. So inspiring. So unique for its time. This sound will always be refreshing and clean. What a song. Andy I hope you understand the impact you had on new musicians even though you are not considered a significant artist. This IS music at its finest. Still in awe.
Such a pleasant tune that brings back old memories like the cool autumn breeze 🔥
I commented on this 12 years ago… and it’s still such a fantastic composition. Love it.
Honestly I am surprised how famous andy mckee has gotten despite him being a skilled and most likely talented musician.
One of the first videos I ever watched on RUclips in 2007 ❤ please never delete this beautiful performance by Andy!
Proof that a video can have a resolution as low as 240P but, if your sound is on point and able to capture something like this so well it doesn't matter.
This is just the camera microphone. The actual recording is on the album from this same session
2023. I found this masterpiece when I was probably 8-10yo, I’m 24 now. I often hear this melody in my mind. It’s been 14-16 years since my ears were first blessed with Drifting and I’ll never forget it.
2006....met my high school sweetheart when i first heard this song. We fell for each other in guitar class. Fast forward to 2021, 2 kids and loving life. Song brings back so much memories.
😢wow this brings back so memories, this help me thru so much pain and made me pic up a guitar. This old guitar has rescue me countless times!

HQDivinity nice mate. Post a video up when you can. Good work.
HQDivinity I'd like to see, been learning it myself.
It's A LOT easier than it looks. When I learned this song a while ago I was surprised how simple it was.
Keep going man! It took me around 2 Weeks to really master it as an amateur, now i am playing this song really good and i am not even able to hold some basic baree chords :) Just go with your passion and you can do this! greetz
Finally found my favorite guitar song after 10 years.
I listened to this back in middle school and now I'm all grown up with kids, family and long career and this just brings me back to simple place. Thank you.
I'm excited! I get to meet this guy in February where I live for a festival!!!
Damn you're lucky! I really want to meet him. I learnt this song and because of him, my perspective on playing the guitar has totally changed.
Wow that's awesome, I'm learning how to play right now, I'm not good yet :P
