You are absolutely right. I’m over 70 ..I’ve been wearing multi color bandannas with brite colors and someone made fun of me but I love them and they can just keep their comments to themselves. The scarves cheer me up. They’re just jealous of my freedom to do something different. Don’t you agree?😁😁
Yes I agree. It sounds like you have a beautiful bohemian spirit. I love that you can change them according to your mood or the season. Keep doing you!
Some older people are not nice, if you look good wearing colour, they can be jealous , especially if they wear grey ,black, and brown. Colour frightens a lot of older people. I love colour, it lifts your spirit, and knocks a few years off you, who wouldn't won't that. You go girl, bet you look great. Cheers. 🌈🌟🌷👍
Thank you for continuing to encourage women to be themselves. Among all my friends I always said I would let my hair go gray and never color it. Here I am at 67, with brown hair, silver highlights, and a small stripe of gray no one really sees. Good for all of you ladies that have gone gray, I think nature tells us what color is best for our complexion.
I’ve decided to no longer color my hair. I’m 57 and I just want to simplify my life so my journey begins. I’m am rocking this! I’m not afraid to be myself and I don’t care what others say. I love my age and my look. It really makes me feel good when someone else gives positive encouragement to us women. We seem to be always be put into a box where beauty is about how skinny you are, if you have gray hair, how youthful you looking you are. Confidence in yourself and loving yourself is so important. Having fun as you age is awesome and amazing, 😉😁
A tough decision but my patch of psoriasis in the nape of my neck made me decide to go grey gracefully and as long as my husband is complimenting me on my the " hints " of grey WHO cares !!
I'm 65 and I decided to stop dying my hair at age 57 too. I am so happy with it! It is my own unique color, it is much healthier than when I dyed it, much simpler upkeep and huge savings, less chemicals on my skin, don't have to worry if that great looking color looks brassy when I get out into the sun. Also, it's been fun working with different make up and clothing colors. (And boy was I glad I did it before Covid hit!)
I've been going grey since my early 20s. I've learned to embrace it. Now, at 48, I rock waist length multicolored white and brown and gold hair (which I haven't colored in about 15 years) and I couldn't be happier! I love my hair!!!
My mother went grey in her late 40’s. The way it grew in people thought she actually went to the hair dresser and got it dyed that way. Which she did not. She is now 92 and she wears about every color she likes, she even has tops that are multi color and she looks absolutely gorgeous in them. She wears jewelry that has silver in them but also with color blues, pinks. mauves and such, she loves color and her makeup is flawless as well. Her attitude is the same as yours when comes to colors etc.
After a long illness I lost most of my hair. When it grew back, I just did not want to devote any time or money to dyeing my hair that was reluctant to accept color. You helped me see that it's more than okay to be myself. It is the right choice for me. Thank you!
I am 72 and finally had allowed my hair to go natural when I was about 68ish. My hubby was my best "cheerleader". He loved my gray even more than I did (I wanted the pure white and yet here I am with more peppered with only some very white - hoping eventually it will get there). He would tell me how great I looked and why did I color my hair for so long. With him gone, I think that will be one of the biggest things I will miss from him.
I was starting to go grey when I was 16, and dyed for decades. I finally decided in 2018 to make the transition to my natural white, and I found I needed to completely re-vamp my wardrobe! Some colours no longer flattered me, but many more are now fabulous. 😎
I just need to say how incredibly inspired I am by you and your attitude. Whenever I watch your videos I'm left with a sense of I can do anything! So thank you for being you 💞
For quite a whole others have told me to color my gray-silver hair.I love my color hair! Also, told what colors to wear. Well, they were wrong! I love wearing red, blueish pink and my favorite blues. I earned all my gray by raising two sons on my own. Thank you so much for this video.
I literally just ordered a red blouse because I forgot how much I love red ♥️. I also received my FBS order today and I love the colors. Coco gloss & Know Your Worth Vinyl Lip Lacquer. THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊 Ladies try her products, there is nothing I have ordered I don’t love, I use everything.
I am feeling so down today, because of everything . I am on 9 months of transition to gray hair and is growing out alot like yours. I am 68 and all want to do is cry. Sometimes I feel good with it and other days I feel like I am aging 😌. I am your fan always look at your videos. Today I was listening to what you said, thank you I really needed this .
Love yourself always! Encourage you always!! There is too much negative in the world..don't let some beautiful grey/silver highlights get your mood in a funk.
I feel exactly the same ..I want to leave it yi grow out naturally..but then someone says are you changing your colour soon ? .. don't give up on it .. it will be fabulous.. big hugs and positive vibes xx
I needed to revisit this video and hearing Nikol’s positivity. I quit coloring my very dark brunette hair several years ago. I love my salt and pepper. However I often feel invisible, dislike mirrors and having my photo taken. I wish I could conquer that. I should watch more of Nikol’s videos, she’s such a positive person. 💓
At 60 I grew my hair out because my hair grows so fast I always had roots and the dye wasn’t grabbing the same. It only took me 6 months to grow out my hair to my standard Bob with bangs. Turns it my grey makes me look younger because it so softening and doesn’t create dark shadows. The colors I stay away from is beige. A coral lip and peach blush brighten me. I’ve always loved color and they work with my coloring. I’m 70 and I still love my hair.
Hi Nikol When I go clothes shopping neva shop for a particular colour. Eventho I'm not gray same applies to different coloured hair. If u think the colour looks on u good buy it. Luv hair and fashion and regardless of age always fun to experiment.
It is! I was debating doing a dark brown glaze so I wouldn’t have the grow-out issues if I changed my mind, and my hairstylist pointed out that I’d have all the upkeep again. I like not having to worry about my roots anymore.
I love your honesty. I also love my grey hair! The tips I get here are great, thank you. Yes never save anything for good use or good wear, you may never get to enjoy them, today's the day, every day. Your Irish fan. Mary.
I have found that with my skin tone and my silver hair, I’ve found that I can wear colors that I couldn’t wear before I went silver! I wore more earth tones before I went silver; now I can wear beautiful pinks and aquas! Love it!
Thank you nikol you have solved my wardrobe issue I have platinum grey hair with my black underneath I love it it rich and thick now since I went dye free 2 years ago I will turn 61 on August 7 and I have aged gracefully as on fraternal side the aging process is slow I love my transition and I love your vlogs it’s helped me out a lot with my makeup to my shampoo stay safe🇨🇦
I am 59 and no gray yet. Don’t know really why but if I was turning gray I would celebrate it! I think as women we have earned every one of them. My husband is turning gray and I have to remind him that I love it! He feels fortunate that he has hair! Love your video. You are so up lifting! Thanks
OH ABSOLUTELY!!! You hit the essential element on its head! We all need to understand ourselves first…..and then…. MAGIC happens…BECAUSE WE LOVE THE LOOK! WE are completely happy!!!
Yes! I agree, it's about how you feel when you look at yourself with a colour against your skin and not be boxed into a category according to someone else. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to experiment with brighter lipsticks with my grey hair AND stop saving the "good stuff" for a special day in the future-at 66 how many special times are ahead?? Love you 💖😙
I recently realized that the colors in my closet do not enhance my beautiful grey hair, and wasn't sure where to start. Perfectly timed video, thank you! ❤
Hi Nicole:) I thought I would dye my hair forever and then I started watching you and many other ladies on RUclips and decided to embrace my gray AND my curly hair. You really are an inspiration to women who may not have as much self confidence like you. I used the 8 second rinse that you had mentioned today and I forgot what u had said about the warming sensation! My hair is so soft and my hair color seems brighter than usual. It was fun! I also got the rose shampoo and conditioner and that’s on my agenda this week! I’m now searching for the right hairstyle:). I have very healthy thick curly hair that looks gorgeous in the back but need to update the very top area. You were blessed with beautiful gray hair that would be a shame to color because it is so extraordinary gorgeous. I look forward to ur videos-you are a master at makeup and I’m just experimenting w it as a retired woman. It’s so out of the box for me and I appreciate ur encouragement 😊👍💕
Nikol you look fabulous! And so on point with telling ladies to look at the Undertone of their skin... I used to do makeovers (in the day) with Season colors, Remember Winter, Summer cooler tones, Spring, Fall warmer tones. It helped Women choose the right colors for their skintone and made them look & feel Great!!! ✌️💗
Thank you so much. Since going salt and pepper I got stuck in mostly wearing black ...blah. This morning you inspired me to wear a gorgeous red blouse that's been hanging in in closet and I've just ignored it. I love my red lipstick. So today is going to be a va va woom dag. 💄. You look absolutely fantastic.
I am a natural red head with silver streaks popping up. Mom was great at 30...Dad not salt and. Pepper until 65.... I am 47. I am totally embracing the gray and ready for a NEW LOOK!! I have always been a ginger..so I am ready to wear WHATEVER I WANT 🥰
I in my 70s and have been silver for about the last 20 years. A couple of my oldest friends went silver during Covid and are really happy with it, but they did tell me that they didn’t understand it when I did it 20 years ago. We have to be true to ourselves😊
I'm transitioning to grey, so far, cold turkey 🙄and have warm oilve skin. I shine in strong colours, I get most compliments when I wear fuchsia pinks, reds, strong greens, electric blues, and they make me feel alive! So, yay for a pop of colour at every age, especially during the dark and cold winter months.
I started transitioning to grey November 2018 after watching your videos, as well as a few other ladies channels. For those who are undecided if it will look good....I was dying my hair dark brown ( the color I was born with) for almost 30 years. I have had more compliments on my grey hair in the last year than all those years of dying my hair combined. And most colors I could wear before still look just as good on me. I just turned 52, and I love having grey hair!! Thank you for all your great tips, Nikol😊
Same here! People think I had it highlighted. My hairstylist was totally on board when I decided to stop dyeing-I think she was tired of fighting my dye-resistant hair too, although she’d have kept doing it if I wanted-and put silver highlights in to soften the “skunk stripe.” It was an adventure for both of us, seeing it come in.
I am so much more positive about my hair than anyone else. I am all excited about it and "friends" keep saying "No, you must go to the hairdresser and do something about it" I am owning it and thinking I will look fabulous and I do not care what anyone else thinks. I am having fun with make up because I can wear brighter colours than I normally would. I do not know why other women feel compelled to say that this is a bad choice. That becomes a deterrent, but I am continuing on my path. It's only hair!
Love your tip about taking a photo of yourself to see is an outfit or color works. You can usually tell right away. I also live by the 3 second rule. If I hesitate more than 3 seconds then the answer is no.
Thank you for your inspiring words. I’m rocking my curly gray hair. I felt like I needed permission to wear color. I just sent back a bright pink dress because I thought it would be too much. Maybe I’ll give it a try.
Wear what makes YOU happy! I’m 63. Silver haired worn in a short pixie. I’ve had friends say to me: “did you cut your hair into another short pixie? You should let your hair grow.” You do you and I’ll do me…wether it’s my hair or how I dress! I’m not about to restrict my happiness.
Thank You for this. I think as we age with grace and do it naturally, we need more encouragement. I find the more I try new things, clothes , lip color or cheeks or a fabulous hat, I find things that look amazing and I realize I look and feel better then I ever have at 55 almost 56. Yes unapologetic, bold, beautiful and aging with grace. We must change the dialogue and embrace the beautiful aging process. Thank You for doing that. Blessings Nikol and everyone here that is aging with grace 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa
Love the TIPS...I totally agree with the old adage of JUST DO YOU. There are some rules but rules are made to be broken. It's time for us to STEP OUT THE BOX, be reasonable if you want but it's time to just go ALL IN!!!! THANKS 😍
I worked retail, when the color me beautiful came out, I had tons of women bringing in color swatches, what a nightmare! People thinking they could only wear that shade of color, which may not be in. I also feel like most women will gravitate towards colors they love which makes you feel good. Pink is my love color any shade makes me happy!
Thanks for your enthusiasm. I started going gray in my 30s and have loved the freedom of it. You gave some great pics of cool colored outfits but didn't give color specifics for us warm grey haired ladies. I KNOW I can wear anything I want and rock it but I used to love olive green and browns. I'm just not liking that as much. I look great in magenta and deep turquoise but I get a little tired of those. Thanks.
Maybe deep dark-chocolate brown and forest green? I switched from my earth tones to jewel tones with a warm undertone (lots of blue and purple now). I hold colors against my wrist and forearm and see if my skin looks good, or kind of washed out and grayish. I wear coral instead of hot pink. I’m a Deep Autumn, so my palette always had a lot of warm jewel tones, rather than the cool ones Winters wear.
My son says that my grey hair is fantastic ! and looks good, I wear blue and pink and red too they are my colours, the cool versions look the best, and wine colour is great too! good video, thank you for sharing ! your hair is stunning !
I loved this video! You are so eight, why should we let others dictate to us about what we can and can’t do! You are so inspiring and I think you rock!🤗
You know you have beautiful grey hair when a good colourist or stylist refuses to dye it. That's my situation. Of course they would dye it if that's what I wanted. But when they tell you it's beautiful and have many clients wanting my exact colour I say why mess with a good thing! I am going to rock what I have been blessed with.
I would love to have grey hair in your shade! As a natural blonde my hair has morphed into a mixture of pale faded blonde and white with some darker blonde still at the nape and its not very inspiring. Fortunately we can purchase some great wigs these days so I just buy those in the grey shades that I like - so easy!
My family grays early. I started dying my brown hair at 40. At 70 I kept saying I wanted to let it go gray. Hairdresser and friends keep putting me off. Well, at 73, I had my hairdresser take the color out to match my incoming roots. It was a shock even though I wanted it. it has been 3 months now and a hair trim, I am loving it more and more. I do need new clothes.
I absolutely love this your channel! All that watch your channel are truly blessed. Going through the process of going gray, thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement.❤️
I find my grey hair very freeing. I am 65. Women my age and older are often the onesI get the most flack from. It's like they believe if you don't dye your hair you look old. No, you end up looking like you dye your hair!
I went gray in 2018. So glad I did. I am an Autumn and used to wear a lot of browns (dyed medium blond.) I’ve always worn gold, but now it looks wrong. I’ll never like pinks or reds. Just leaving those beiges and browns behind.
Yes to no more "fighting it". The industry makes us believe that hair colour is a lush luxury product. Truth is: We are in the middle of an ongoing fight. Day after day after day ... No more! PS: my yellow shirt never looked better!
I have just found you abd love all your videos that I’ve seen so far. Loved this video because I’m on my journey of going grey right now. I was a brunette with hazel eyes and olive skin. So will be a huge change for me coming up. I am worried about what colours of makeup and clothing I will be able to wear now. Your video helped. Im thinking after I’ve watched your video that I can still wear the colours that I’ve been wearing for olive skin tone. Thank you so much for all your videos! Looking forward to seeing more!
I stop colouring my hair during Covid because of all the lockdowns and I thank Covid 😂to realise that I have a beautiful grey hair that shines and no need to dye it anymore! And since I stopped dyeing my hair it grew so much it’s unbelievable! And I am in my sixties, And a get a nonstop complements from family and strangers!
Interesting Nikol! I was told I was a winter in days gone by, now it appears I have morphed into a summer in taking the quiz. All of this is very fun. I do enjoy your video's very much!
Thank you for the color and skin tone lesson! I now know I am a Cool Neutral! By the way, I loved Winged Wellness. My daughter got some and my friend also. I just bought 4 different ones. These are great!
I love love watching you, you are such a beauty! I am 74yrs old and I have been blonde, blue eyed, delicate always. My hair is turning silver, what to do? My gray hair complement's the blues and purples, periwinkles. The warm eyeshadows do not look good on me anymore. Does your seasonal colors change as you age and gray? Thanks for your time. Ann In Dallas!
Nikol, you look beautiful in all colors. I have to admit that when I began watching your videos long ago, I didn’t care for your gray hair. But, but, but.......I can’t see you n any other color hair. I Love your gray hair and if I could rock it, I’d go with it too. Not yet for me though. I tried once and the husband hated it. Went back to coloring it.🤷🏼♀️ blonde
I’m warm skin tone but I hate gold jewellery on me 😆 my favourite foundation is Dior Forever (matte) I wear 2W. I always wear black, it’s just what I like but I go wild with makeup and scarfs oh and bags 😀
Nikol can you do a video of what to do if you have gray hair and nonexistent brows? What do you do? What are good products? I have thin brow hairs (I over plucked in the 90’s). The brow hairs I have do not show up. Now my face just looks washed out and flat. Help!
...a great video about color as Nikol wears white and black with a nude lip!😉 I never looked good in black as a brunette. Now that my hair is white, black is dramatic. I also now wear blues (pale blue, navy blue, aqua, and tie dye blue) which I didn't wear before. Unfortunately, white and off-white don't work well anymore.
Wow you are awesome and such an inspiration ...I too love my grey hair and im enjoying the freedom of not coloring my hair .thanks for sharing your tips on colors
Be aware that lighting changes how color looks on us. Seek out daylight or bulbs that mimic natural light. Florescent light lends a green cast and incandescent light is warm ( yellowish).

How very rude of someone to make fun of your clothing choices/colors. 🤨🤨

I am done with colouring my hair. I am excited to see the transition
Thank you this has been a big help. I’ve always been warm and trying to figure out what colors would look good on me.
Nikol, when you held that white can next to your face, you glowed even more.
I had watched that TED talk before but this time it meant more! No more melting candles!!! Thanks!
Nikol the camera absolutely loves you! You photograph amazingly.
First the first time in my life my gray hair lets me wear black well. I never could before.
Rockin the gray with you Nikol! Love this!
Just love your enthusiasm for life, it's so uplifting .... I'm off to buy some colour !
Thank you for all informations regarding grey hair Nikol. You always look soo beautiful. 😍😍
Everything looks so good on you, and colors too! Great video. I am going gray; 9 months so far…
Love that Ted talk. Thank you for the reminder 😊❤
You are so welcome!
Great tips and information….thank you for another great video! 🌸
What a great video! You are an inspiration! I love your attitude 😘
Thanks, Nikol. I love your attitude. I needed to hear a positive message today.
Watching you has helped me to go gray and I am so grateful for your positive message. You are awesome. THANK YOU>
Yes to no more "fighting it".
And I am in my sixties,
And a get a nonstop complements from family and strangers!
Love pink!!! Love blues! Yes, on red!
Many thanks from a spring girl!!! NIkol you're such an inspiration!!!!! Keep it up!!!!
I love my grey/white hair Nikol
YES!!! Great message 🤍
I love your attitude.
Grey, white, whatever, rocks!
Great as usual!!
You can wear ALL colors but you have to wear the correct tone.
exactly my point in the video today 😘😘
Love your videos.
Depends on your season
The Ted Talk was great!!
Nikol can you do a video of what to do if you have gray hair and nonexistent brows? What do you do? What are good products? I have thin brow hairs (I over plucked in the 90’s). The brow hairs I have do not show up. Now my face just looks washed out and flat. Help!
I adored this video Thank you!!!!!
Great video and thank you Nokal
You are such a delight! 😍
You are so encouraging!
...a great video about color as Nikol wears white and black with a nude lip!😉
I never looked good in black as a brunette. Now that my hair is white, black is dramatic. I also now wear blues (pale blue, navy blue, aqua, and tie dye blue) which I didn't wear before. Unfortunately, white and off-white don't work well anymore.
Same here! Black finally works for me!
I wore a neutral palette on purpose because it was about showing you what I looked like in all the different colors through pictures. 😚
@@NikolJohnson I thought so. No matter what you wear, it works!!
Wow you are awesome and such an inspiration ...I too love my grey hair and im enjoying the freedom of not coloring my hair .thanks for sharing your tips on colors
Great video! Thank you 💜
Be aware that lighting changes how color looks on us. Seek out daylight or bulbs that mimic natural light. Florescent light lends a green cast and incandescent light is warm ( yellowish).
That tip about the color of the vein - yup.
