I call bugs that get into your house free toys. My cats go bonkers when there is a fly in the house. Keeps them entertained for ever...lol
Your black kitty is beautiful. Leaving music playing helps a one cat house not feel lonely when you're away from home
Luna says thanks! :D :D
Same😁. I do this with my cat now. And it was a habit from when I was a kid and our family had a dog. If we were gone for the day we left the radio on (and she liked soft music). Before we left her alone she would chew up the kitchen chairs, then when we started leaving the radio on she stopped chewing...no more separation anxiety.😁
What about the ginger cat ? 😐😐
We leave the radio on all the time.
Their all beautiful
I used to say the same about cats going outdoors - the reward outweighed the risk. Then we found our beautiful 2 year old Siberian dead on the kerb right outside our house.
I’ve got three new kittens now and am leash training them as well as watching videos like this for stimulating ideas 😄
I'm sorry for your loss.
Ping-pong balls - my kitty used to LOVE them. If they disappear, look under the fridge. ;0)
Great idea! We used to have some ping pong balls for the kitties at my parent's house, but I had completely forgotten about it! I might amazon some now :)
Jean Vignes my cat loves those too!
So did mine för about 3 weeks but got tired of them forever it seems. I would like to find something as amusing for a longer time than a couple of weeks.
my cat lost all of them
I couldn’t find my cats ping pong ball for a week. I just looked under the fridge but it wasn’t there. However I did find it next to the fridge, thanks!
When we lived in Texas our cats thought cockroaches were cat toys. And when an occasional gecko came in, that too became a toy.
LASER POINTER
My cat has memorized the sound of the click. 2 rooms away and on the other floor, you turn it on, she’s there
you should build a catio!!! and do a video on it
Would love to see that!
Wait..... what’s a catio?
gary snyder am enclosed patio for cats.
This is probably the best channel I've discovered for cats. Feels relatable, casual, simple, and to the point. Preparing myself to adopt a cat soon. So thanks for the ideas. 👏
I prefer to keep my 3 at home cause the rd in the uk are dangerous . But I take them out on harness cAuse I feel safer that way . Love your videos.
yeah that's were i'm going
I really like the clever little camera transitions and stuff in this one!
You’ll notice that the more you play with your cats the more they will improve- if they get enough fulfillment they’ll also be more affectionate, like these wonderful lil babies.
My cat disco; aka the Bubbers; aka the chubbers- was an indoor outdoor cat by a lake for his first 2 years but now we live in the city, also near a main road and where many residents have large dogs so he’s indoor only. It’s been a constant challenge to find things he likes but I do and it really makes a difference in his demeanor. Now he will play on his own and is less pitiful about asking to go out bc I’ve started playing with him every time I have my tea, as a rule- and I drink a lot of tea. I taught my younger kitty to fetch and he’s suuuper easy to keep entertained (although he requires it CONSTANTLY, it’s always better than whatever my phone screen has to offer and it’s really hard to play with a cat and not giggle.
Also I’ve never met a cat that could just let a string disappear around a corner, without at least a warning - it’s a sacred duty they all must perform.
Giving a cat a window is truly the biggest change you can make in one swoop. I put a blanket and a few varying heights of ottomans and stools by my window and they live in it, but just recently I finagled a kitty area in my bedroom area as well, and they are just elated with a new option to choose from as they were with the first window area I made cat friendly. I open and raise the blinds and curtains every morning so they can really get up in there and do their important work of keeping an eye on the perimeter. I’m not even bothered to clean up the happy cat snot they get on my windows bc that just means some stink bug really got meowed and swiped-at that day! Perspective is so important. Literally and figuratively, when you have cats.
Great video and you have such a terrific attitude about your cats! Yes, cats love all kinds of toys, mine especially love string "snakes", and gift bags with tissue paper, as well as cardboard boxes. I cannot allow my cats out into the wild on their own, so I built a heavy steel-wire cat-enclosure to let them go outside for fresh air and some non-human "me-ow time." They go out from the window of my house right into their enclosure, on my porch. I also made a sturdy cardboard panel with a cardboard cat door. I insert this into the open window so I don't lose too much heat or air conditioning while letting the cats go out and come in at will. I only allow them out when I am home, just in case of feral cats or other animals, and of course to keep my home secure also.
Train your kitty on a leash.............best of both worlds!
Yep! I keep saying I need to start...
My sister got me a leash for my cat and I thought she was crazy. Can you tell me why it’s good?
@@captenmurica8843 a bit late but basically your cat gets to see more new things outside, than when he is at home all the time. scents of other animals, plants, bugs etc there is a lot of happening and it is very stimulating for kitties :)
I paid $65.00 for cat furniture and they never used it once. I wound up giving it away - like new.
Just like humans, cats don’t like some furniture that might be cute to you and uncomfortable for them.
My kitties free favs: old markers, porexpan balls, twinkie thingies made with pipe cleaner, mouse toys, my hairbands...
Flax seeds work great for cat grass! Soak the seeds briefly, then sprinkle the seeds amongst the soil. The sprouts will reach 6 inches tall, then a cat may Enjoy chewing the sprouts. Flax seeds are also a healthy food for people!
Woody Cavallo great idea my don’t like cat grass I will try this .
I agree about letting cats go outside. I have always let mine go out. They need fresh air, exercise and sunshine. They eat grass. My cats are very happy and I always have them for years. I had one beloved cat get killed by a dog. I was devastated but I do not regret letting her go out. She had a very happy fulfilled 7 years with me. My cats have a great quality of life. When they can't go out they really get cabin fever, they will fight and pace and get into things. They need to go outside just like we do
GREAT video-very creative presentation! LOVE seeing so much of the kitties! The one you were holding at the end seems so sweet!
Thanks! All my kitties are pretty sweet thankfully :) My little kitty Luna can be pretty sassy though :)
dang he's so cute for some reason
You just need to look at the statistics. Outdoor cat life time: 2-5 years, indoor cat life time: 10-15 years. Its an absolutely significant difference. Keep your cats inside, if you love them
Leo & Gracie love sitting on the cat tower watching birds outside. We have tried bird feeders, but they are always stolen by bears.
Haha, that's not how I expected that sentence to end. We don't have too many bears around us, so hasn't been a concern :)
A big hit for all my family's cats is a marble in a shoe. This works especially well if you have a big clunky shoe like a doc marten or your boyfriend's trainers (tell him you have no idea why his shoe laces are shredded). The other game is a paper shopping bag (no handles) and you cut a little hole in the bottom. Put the bag on the side and push a wand toy through the little hole. Your kitty will go nuts and dive into the bag, trying to catch the toy. You can also use the other side of the wand to push under the bag or scratch the sides and top.
When you sang the orangie borangie song at the end i thought that was so cool!!! True cat lovers seem to always have like 50 nonsense nicknames for thier kitties sing silly songs to them etc. LOVED THAT!😊😄
My little kitty loves playing with dry beans its the funnies thing ever. She can’t get enough of it. An accidental spill of beans turned into some fun for my kitty cat
I really wish my cat were more interested in cat toys. For whatever reason she doesn’t play with them. Any suggestions for alternatives?
I know I'm kinda but my cat looooooves these feathers on a elastic leash kinda toys. I try to play the act of a prey
same with mine. she gets bored super easily but will meow for me to play while not paying attention to the toy. you’d say she’s bored and wants to go out etc. NO super scared. Company? No, hates other cats. I’ve tried everything and i’m super miserable at this point. Please cat people help me!
@5:18 cat says put that down I wanna play
I love your approach to free/Diy toys...animals do not know the difference usually lol
yarn straws ping pong balls aluminum foil ball garbage bags or bags they love this stuff
I lost a stray microchipped cat. I glad he died having fun, instead of being forced to stay with me❤️
How did he die
@@Cookiekeks sappy story. He showed up at my doorstep, ragged and moaning. He didn’t seem to know what to do with the unsolicited affection, being taken to the vet twice and treatments. He made a slow exit. And then I didn’t see him anymore. I can only assume he’s dead because that is too sweet to leave me hanging.
Your cats are the cutest things ever! I have 6 indoor cats and I am constantly trying to keep them entertained! Thanks for the info on all this!
I am a proponent of taking your cat outside on a leash....happy medium as far as I am concerned!
Yeah I really need to do some leash training, I've just been nervous that they will escape out of their harness and escape :/
orlendatube a leash Is a good compromise :) 👍
If you can't keep them away from roads and coyotes, cat-proof fencing is available and allows them to lounge outside/kill little things/soak up the sun without being physically restrained and without you having to stay outside with them or bring them in before they're ready.
Sarah Baiocchi Another option is supervised outside time. Just train your cats to return when called. Just start with 5 minutes than work up to an hour at a time.
ir you want to take a cat our on a leash they adapt to a harness much more than a collar as far as the leash thing goes.
I have 3 cat trees, nice ones so they can jump from one to another. And feed squirrels to let them watch. Put peanuts in ironwork of door for squirrels to climb, cats love that. But toys don't intrst them. My boy just needs some more mental stimulus.
my cat has been and indoor outdoor cat, for 6 yrs but in the last 5 months she has been bitten and attacked 6 times so now the vet has said she needs to be indoors from now on so looking for great ideas to keep her happy and relaxed but interested
I had to move and now I am on the second floor. So any advice ? What worked for you? My Poe just sits by the door and cries . Nothing can distract him. I play with him a lot, try to ignore his cries 😿eventhough it’s heartbreaking. I have trees and even a small balcony but he just wants his yard back. I welcome Any worked experiences . Plz
Thanks for this. Lol me and my cat move to a bee place two days ago & I don’t want him to get bored in my room. He’s a little low maintenance from what I can tell since I’ve had him.
I have a red point siamese hes an indoor outdoor cat and our neighbors reported him for being in their yard (idk why he doesn't destroy anything or make a mess) and so we had to pick him up from the animal shelter so we have to keep him inside and as you know siamese cats need mental stimulation and so with him staying inside I needed ideas for him to be happy and energized so this was very helpful!
Wow! Your getting more famous by the day. You have 2k subscribers and a lot more views! Congrats!
Growing every day! Thank you!
Even if I let my cat out she is terrified of outside, because there is this one cat thats fourteen years old that dominates, her name is Zoe. If Zoe sees another cat she fights it exept if the other cat is less than one year old. She fought her son, her sons name is Tim. Tim had a trip to the vet after that.
My family just got a litter of three new kittens. They're all basically half a pound which is tiny. Anyways, awesome video as always! We have basically everything you suggested in this video, except for Cat grass, and Moths(although we have some spiders). We had one packaging at one point which the kittens loved. The runt chose to stay off to the side, though, as it was too noisy. We also have a Scratching Post, but the kittens are again too small to use it, so they just use the mat we put under their litter box. Our current name ideas for them are: White and black tabby/calico(we aren't sure): Widget, Rider(for the rider shaped silhouette on his back). Black and white: Little Bear. Grey: Eleanor, Eeyore, Cinder. I always feel bad because I talk about my family's kittens instead of the video. Anyways this is like a paragraph now, and a kitten just stepped in water and flicked it on my and my math homework so I have to go. Again, it was a great video! Bye!
Name the most destructive cat Loki please. My kitten Loki died when he was one year old.
Awe, I'm so sorry for your loss. I couldn't imagine how hard it must be. I will definitely name one of our kittens Loki. Stay strong ❤️
Thanks, my profile picture is him by the way. If you end up doing it a good nick-name is loki-tty
He looks unbelievably precious. I bet he still hangs around you though. They say that cats always go back to the life they like most, so maybe you'll find a kitten that's just like him, or just know that he's there. ❤️
I have another one now. His name is Wrigley. I still miss loki though. It is sad that I had less than a year with him. I hope I get to spend longer with Wrigley.
What is that red cat toy called with the ball that spins around in the circular track??? That looks like it would be a lot of fun😻
always keep my cats inside :)
luv a man that loves cats!!! rare find!
I work at a fabric store in Australia called "Spotlight" and I brought home some nylon netting (what most tutu's are made from) and my kitties claimed it instantly, one of them especially is obsessed with it, he sleeps on it, he play with it, he pounces out from behind it, he chews on it and he will just sit there moving it around with his paw... His name is Emirate and he looks like a fatter version of your fluffy black kitty. @emirateandtango on Instagram =) ps, I've recently stumbled across your vids while looking up how to make a shelter/bed for a stray cat, quite enjoyed watching and so I've subbed. *And in the past few days I think the stray cat has adopted me, I'm working on get it's trust for now, I really want to take it to a vet ASAP.
Cool great comments
I have a 1 bedroom apartment with a 19month old kitty. So I'm limited on space. But he has plenty of toys and electric that works on detect motion, he's has plenty of cat nip . He still get bored an into trouble trashing my personal things. Like pics , books , phone cords even came home from work an my dishes on the floor broke 😣. He's well taken care of, but every cat video I have seen has two cats 🤔🤔 have the space expensive providing for I may have to consider a playmate his age top things off with his overall happiness an metal health.
I've had singles and doubles, and the doubles are much happier it seems. Plus they chase and fight with EACHOTHER, instead of scratching ME. They do come to me for love though as I'm mommy. And they are very well-behaved because they are COMPETING to be the best kitty and get the most mommy love, even though I'm very equal with them, same exact food for each, same attention always. they're pretty happy.
My cat has an entire box of toys in the basement she can go in and get stuff.
Give me one
To each his own, but I'm afraid to let them out because one of our cats was bitten by a snake. Nursed him for 2 weeks and then he passed. Be careful and try to keep an eye if they're outside.
Where did you get your lion from?
Cats love crinkles-up brown paper from packaging. THey also love paper-chains, of the kind we made from gum wrappers in the 50's and 60's.
My cat is an indoor-outdoor cat but she keeps climbing our walls in the courtyard and gets stuck. Is there any way to stop her from climbing them? Every single time when she is outside she is plotting plans to climb them
One thing we have in the UK that I am really proud off is the RSPSA and we don't have to many strays but with people not having jobs poor things bloody bankers .
I didn't know about the RSPCA, thanks Alison!
We are getting a cat tree for our kitten Wrigley soon!
Woohoo! Cat Trees are the best!
Hi your videos helped alot. And your black cat and mine are identical
Thank you for this video
Get an aquarium and a cat tv with nature video clips.
Sadly, the average life span of cats that go outdoor is 5 years. Reasons include autos, poisoning, accidents - getting into places they can’t escape, eating mice that have been poisoned, etc., predation - dogs, coyotes, wild felines, fighting, diseases they catch from other outside or feral cats - that’s just a few.
It is true that get an average you will have outliers on both ends. Some in/outdoor cats will live to 10 years or a little better, and many will not make it to their first year. Do you really want to gamble with your cat’s life?
Averages mean nothing... If you don't live in the city then you're fine. I grew up in a small village in France, my parents always had a cat, and we would let it go outside. First one died around 15 years old of cancer (parents were giving her the pill instead of having her neutered), and our second cat is still alive and well at 10 years old. Same goes for all my friends there that have cats. I think one even has 2 cats of almost 20 years. Big cities is too dangerous for cats, I agree, but if you live in the country side PLEASE let your poor cat outside
It saddens me that you truly don't think domesticated cats won't survive outdoors. I don't allow any of mine to be outdoors simply because I don't trust my outdoor dogs with the cats. BUT with all that aside outdoor cats can live longer than you think. Cats are amazing, beautiful, smart animals
My cat was 18 when he died
Don't know where you are getting your data, but goodness people! Cats are designed to be hunters, and they have whatcha call "fur", which means they are equipped to live outdoors in the cold and the heat! Cars are the biggest danger to cats statistically. So keeping cats away from busy streets is probably a good idea. My kitty was an outdoor/indoor kitty. I was careful only to let her out at night for about an hour and a half or so. She lived to be 19 yrs old. She was a tabby, and was small and lightweight. I haven't been able to find any data on outdoor/indoor kitties, vs. outdoor, vs. indoor kitties lifespans. Keeping a cat cooped up inside for their whole lives is kinda cruel. I think a happy cat is one that has some freedom to be outside and inside, the best of all worlds. More importantly is what are we feeding our kitties! Did you know that lifespans decreased drastically after dry cat food came on the market?, and what is now "soy, and fillers" were put into wet cat food? Mixed breed cats live longer than purebreds. There are inherent risks in being outdoors for kitties yes, but would you rather live a shorter more interesting, fun, stimulating life, or a longer, safer, non-eventful life indoors? Each person would answer that differently of course! As would each kitty probably. Just sayin'.
@@Jack-ls4em Jack, was your kitty outdoor/indoor or just indoor kitty?
Your cats are beautiful! Love you cat ideas to keep them from getting bored.Thank you for your ideas!
My baby likes straws and cotton buds, I got her so many toys! But nope she loves straws and cotton buds.
I live in a Hi Rise Apt.I can't do too much.
I'll try to look for a taller tree.
This helped my kitten
My cat disappeared for 5.5 months and I got him back in the end, with FIV. There is definitely risk with having cats outside :( if I’d have known about FIV before he went missing, I would’ve had him vaccinated, but clearly I had no idea beforehand :( now he’s just an inside cat so as to not allow him to spread his disease.
I don’t let my 3 cats outside at all. We live in the country and I hear coyotes outside on a regular basis. So I’m afraid it’s just a death sentence for my kitties. Basically Coyote bait 👎. However I do like the cat yards and tunnels for outside use. They can enjoy the outdoors and I can keep an eye on them with no worries.
this video was very helpful and sweet! thank you
Help my cat does not play with any of the toys buy for him. He is 11 years old. Any suggestions
Please tell me what breed your black kitty is! I have one who looks just like it!
Hey Jason, thanks for this! This video is very helpful! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! :)
I bought a cat from a cat house 3 days before. She is so sad because now she is alone. How to make and keep her happy. Please respond to me.
Is she doing well now?
I did buy Cat grass for him.
thanks beautiful soul for what u do. I wish I had a house I'd do that too... I feed stray colonies 4 of them of 35 cats each
0:54 I hear ya on that one.. Bcuz, yeah me too.. All day errday!
All about that shit from day one til I die..
I never stoned the crow, no.
I'm really glad to hear from someone who allows their cats to spend time outdoors. Of course they're safer inside, but so are we, and I don't think anyone would assert that a person who never leaves the house is emotionally healthy no matter how safe they are and how happy they seem to be. Ultimately, indoor cats are missing an essential component of cat-ness: a cat in a field, killing and eating little animals, is like a bird in flight. A cat that never leaves the house is like a bird in a cage. Not that caged birds are necessarily unhappy any more than indoor cats are, but both animals are prone to all kinds of miseries and neuroses if extra effort isn't put into their emotional well-being, and if you have to put extra effort into your emotional well-being in order to avoid becoming neurotic, there's something wrong with your life.
well said :)
You Are the Cats Meow☺️
I need to refill my bird feeder now that the snow isn't blocking my path!
Rather than a backyard I just have a deck. I am concerned about putting a feeder there for fear that there will be bird poop all over the deck constantly! But I really want to give the cats something to look at and our little front yard is not really suitable for a feeder.

I can’t let my cat out cause I live in an apartment so thanks so much for this!!
How has the water fountain worked for you? i've been thinking about buying the same one!
Our cats love pipe cleaners. Odd but they go crazy with them and there cheap. Namaste Jay
i gota scratching post...
still scratches the furniture and uses the scratching post as some back scratcher thing :|
I'm a new listener new subscriber. Thank you very good tips my baby means everything in the world to me she's all alone until I can find her a new friend so this is good advice thank you can't wait to hear your next thing
My cat cant go outside beacause of my dog we tried to make them friends but my dog nearly killed my kitten :(
I bet they love u and loVe living there.
*SO*
I love your vids! I was wondering if you can make a video on cat grooming and how to prevent lots of shedding for cats and what food lowers shedding
Great vid but have to say it, indoor cats live 2.5 times as long on average it's clear creating a stimulating indoor space is very preferable to letting them outside. The only situation in which letting cats out is worth it is if there's a completely safe outdoor space that can't stray too far away from, preferably a private enclosed one
Honestly I have tried all that but my kitty is lazy and don’t wanna play and she is bored ....
Lol! Sweet cats. Thank you, for these tips.
Bringing different things in from outdoors for them to smell/eat/destroy is good. However, research and be very familiar with what you're bringing in. Some of the most common houseplants and flowers are POISON for cats. One of my cats died from eating a lily.
Please cat people help me! My cat gets bored super easily but will meow for me to play while not paying attention to the toy. you’d say she’s bored and wants to go out etc. NO super scared. Company? No, hates other cats. I’ve tried everything and i’m super miserable at this point.
Change the way you play with your cat, maybe hide the toy under a blanket and move it there, or make the toy disappear behind walls
Also, try a laserpointer, and always point to a treat at the end of a play session
Or try to get a fly inside the house, my cat loves to catch and eat them
Caps. Any shape and sizes
I wonder if there is a lot of bird poop.
where?
Around the yard, where the bird feeder is located.
luna is our cat name
I make up songs too and sing to my cat
My cat doesn’t like cat grass he likes the fraaa of my yard I don’t know why . And now I’m
Coming to a small apt and I don’t know what I’m going to do .
Warning about cat grass: my vet told me it can irritate their throats, so don't give it to older kitties or cats prone to throwing up their food too much. It could make it hard for them to stay a healthy weight!
Pipe cleaners. cats love pipe cleaners.
Ah! Good call Lisa!
Where did you buy the cat tree?
I got it as a present. If you want to see the video of me and the kitties making it, it's here: ruclips.net/video/wLzJRt0cKuU/видео.html
Great job!
Thank you!
nothing replaces them going outside I train my kitties on a leash and I stand by them and walk them a couple hours a day and I have a little cat stroller case some little incident comes along a coyote or something I can just throw them in their works out great you can't keep a cat inside it's horrible . People do it out of their own fears
You... you are not blinking...
Lol its a problem with my editing. I have to say like ten words at a time and am thinking about it, so i dont blink then and all the times inbetween get edited out :D
