Bored Cat? Play this KNOCKING CUPS game!

- Finding a treat in a cup and KNOCKING it over is a fun and easy way to overcome your cat's boredom - your cat will LOVE this game. In this game, I call CUPS (also called the shell game in dog training circles), your cat has the select the cup that has the treat. There are four levels and infinite possibilities to challenge your cat:
• Add more cups
• Switch the position of the cups
• Distract the cat while you hide the treats
• Flip the cups over
Once your cat has CUPS to knock over, knocking over OTHER stuff in your house will be a thing of the past; if you give your cat a job to do, they will be less likely to look for employment (i.e., supervisor of knocking your stuff over in the house). Instead, they will be looking for their favourite CUPS to search for treats. When you are not playing the CUPS game, hide these little cups around the house with treats and toys inside. One set of cups provides so many opportunities to enrich your cat's life and strengthen your bond.
Have fun training,
- Julie and Jones

I can’t wait to get my two kittens next year please never delete your channel I’m gonna need it
I love your videos! My cat mastered getting into the backpack and now we are training to brush his teeth without all the drama 😂 The cup game seems a lot of fun!
Congrats on your training progress!!!
I bought the cups you suggested and am looking forward to interacting with my kitten.
Now the weather is getting cold and wet, my cat only go on short expeditions, her "mice farm" is almost out of mice. She spend her days complaining over the lack of food - according to her🤣 the food and foraging puzzles are boring and easy. No matter what I come up with. So now I've made an order for some cups. That should be a fun activity for us both.
Lately my cat has been a bit bored, even though we do a series of tricks we learned from you & Jones twice a day. She loves hunting for treats, so these cups should be fun for her! Thanks for another great video!
My cat enjoyed it first but when I increased the difficulty and she failed to find a right cup in a row several times, she got eventually super pissed off, bit my hand and walked away 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't have a cat but my humorous thought was Level 10, let the cat watch you put treat under one of three cups, make them all the same color and give them a small switcharoo. Test the cat's memory. I mean why not, he made short work of that stuff. It'd make a fun video. 😊
I tried to put sausage in a cup for my cat, and she started to use her cute paws😂
"You're gonna miss me when I'm gone..." ;) :P
...I wonder how many will get it...
We don't have a clicker, but we have everything else!
Love your content !
This is amazing. You are amazing. God bless you!
I love your videos! Your instructions are so easy to follow and effective. Part way through this video you change your cups. What kind are the second set of cups?
amzn.to/3I5Sr5Q and one set is the Ikea Mula stacking cups.
I love your all videos u teaching easily ..it helps me :)
Such a great game! I will definitely be trying it with Finn. Do you have a video of the ping pong ball thing? I have problems of Finn walking away to look for more treats.
You can watch us play ping pong kitty here: ruclips.net/video/f6TpJfh5d3Y/видео.html
@@CatSchool thanks!
This looks fun. We'll try it :)
Is there link to video showing how to teach your cat to return after getting atreat?
You can see us train that here: ruclips.net/video/f6TpJfh5d3Y/видео.html
Where can I find these cute little cups you have?
Edit: my girls are ready to try on your new harness!
I have these: amzn.to/3mWvAPV and the Mula stacking cups from Ikea
I rescues my cat years ago and he is kind of aggressive and attacks when I try to touch his paws or pick him up. So can anyone help me out?
For the ping pong game do you have any suggestions for cats with one eye? My little guy is having a hard time trying to find the treats and come back and I was wondering if you had any tips! Thank you
Do the cups have to be different colours? I’ve been used 3 that look exactly the same
I don't think it's important that the cups are different colours.
Does this show cats can grasp the concept of object permanence?
Can we train clicker and target stick for 8 month kittens
Please upload more videos
Hi Julie, am I understanding correctly that you are marking the cat putting his paw on the correct (treat containing) cup? Or knocking over the correct cup? Thanks
I am marking the cat for touching the correct cup with their paw. The cat does not need to knock the cup over to get it right.
But my kitty 2 months old, don't know what do with the coups. There is a kind of prompt it? Thanks!
When I click and give to my kitty the tricks, it's play with the trick first to eat...
Hi, Instead of using his paws, my kitten uses his teeth to overturn the cup, what do you recommend? Thank you 😊
Hello Julie,I bought a kitten yearstaday and She is very frightened. She even doesn't eat food what should I do?
I'm having a hard time getting my cat to understand that he needs to find and pick the right cup. He just knocks over a random cup and spends forever trying to find the nonexistent treat when he picks the wrong cup. Sometimes it takes a long time for him to remember/notice that there is another cup to try. I only click and treat once he gets it right, but so far he isn't showing any signs of being selective. He is very smart, very food motivated, and quick to pick up on many other tricks/games, but not this one yet. Do you have any advice? Thank you so much for your videos. My cat adores his training time!
The best way to help you is for you to post for support inside our online classroom and share a video of your training so we can see what it looks like and help you troubleshoot.
Can we teach this for 8 month kittens gender =boy
Should I teach my cat with the sit position?
Not for Levels 2 and 4. For levels 1 and 3, it's up to you. If your cat is very excited and knocks over all the cups without paying attention, it could be helpful for them to sit first.
Thank you cat school
The link to the recommended cups doesn’t work :( Is there another set of cups that you like for this game?
Thanks for letting me know. I updated the link.
Hi mam. Can you please say what is the name of cup ? I want to buy it
There are these ones: amzn.to/3mWvAPV Ikea sells the Mula stacking cups.
Just going to say this (from experience): it's all fun and games until your cat decides to knock over EVERY cup it sees-- and you have to watch out that your drinks don't get spilled every time you turn around. Now-- how to teach them NOT to knock over cups??? Lol
