Lifelong San Diegan here. In order to be happy here you need to tolerate: skyhigh housing costs, lots of traffic, horrible streets, six-feet tall weeds, homeless people, high taxes across the board (income, property, gasoline, etc.), skyhigh energy costs (electricity, gas, gasoline) and grossly incompetent politicians. What do you get for all this nonsense? Good weather and natural beauty. Take away the weather and natural beauty and there is no reason to live here.
My parents moved here in 70s. I Inherited several houses from them. I live in San Francisco Bay Area. I would NEVER move back to San Diego county. If it wasn’t for the weather - it is a wasteland. It amazes me how many suckers pay the exorbitant prices. The current prices of real estate are dictated by an extremely small percentage of the population who can afford homes - it’s disgusting. I do not mind being a landlord here - I keep the rents very reasonable for the tenants.
@@SVmathfarmerPerfectly said! I was fortunate to find a great landlord when I moved to Alpine, Ca. She kept the rent much lower than she could have gotten for the house and property. She was so sweet. Now I can't afford rent anywhere here in San Diego. A big fixerupper just just sold for $650,000 and the flippers sold it for over a million to the unsuspecting buyers. Now all these old homes that have a ton of issues are valued at at least 650. San Diego is a depressing place to live if you don't have a yearly income of over $100,000.
are there any low income housing on the outskirts of San Diego? im a single father of two and looking for ways I can make it there, im also a military vet.
Thank goodness for 1.5x speed lol
65 to 85.??? In Chicago it goes from 95 to 10 below. In fact tonight Jan 21, 2025 it is going to 5 below. The high tomorrow is 3.
@@marblox9300 wow, that’s brutal. San Diego definitely has incredible weather.
Whats the big deal about the beach if people never get in the water? I been here forever and san diegans never touch a wave. Too cold for them.
@@JedimillerReturns haha you’re not wrong. The water is cold but that’s what wet suits are for.
@living.in.sandiego never used a wetsuit. That's for the weak
Why did you omit the zoo, balboa park and wild animal park?

San Diego is the Best😅 I've lived here since 1971
@@andersonbradmc we have loved living in San Diego. It’s not for everyone but we absolutely love it here too!
1 million for 1200 square feet and away from the beach
@@crazycat350z you can find places for 500-600k. Depends on the neighborhood, how far from the coast and square footage.

Check out Island Flats near the gas lamp quarter - apartments there are only like $1,500/month
