NOTIFICATION SQUAD: Where would you like to see us walk across in a day next? LET us know below! It's great to get back to RUclips having spent the last few weeks hidden away in a room, wrapping up the Abroad in Japan book. Expect to hear more details soon, but for now enjoy the video!
And cheers to Pete for coming along for the ride.
A hike from one side of the valley to the other in Kyoto would be cool, and some great views too!
Hi Chris!
Osaka
Walk across frozen lake in japan if there's any
Wanted to let you know thanks for doing everything u do, keep up the good work :D
Tbh I think this has the potential to become a really cool series. Something like walking around citys in a day, you could start in like Osaka and just walk around and tour for a day, and go through all the other major citys
@Don't Read My Profile Picture we don't follow your name
Agree. It's a nice improvement on walking videos like Watched Walker (there's also another one who does Japanese places I like but I can't remember the name UPDATE: It's Rambalac). Shorter and with commentary.
Tbh, I'd like a night time version of this. Showing a city by day, and by night with some driving around, all very chill.
Hell yeah! Keen to keep up the fitness journey this year and it could be the perfect series 🍻
@@BillPeschel Yeah, it's really nice to get a feel for the citys, and the more layed back atmosphere is cool

I'm so jealous of how walkable Tokyo is. If you tried this in Texas you'd bump into an uncrossable highway, or find a bridge that had no pedestrian access, or just notice the utter lack of sidewalks in so many places.

It feels weird watching your channel after having lived in Japan for a few months as an exchange student. Before, when I watched your channel everything was like a detached feeling of splendor and wonder, but now, I have context. I've been in these places, I understand them, I know where they are and how to get there via train or subway or walking, what the vibes are, and what it's like to really be there. So, if watching your videos before gave me a sense of unknown wonder, now it's like a warm sense of familiarity. Not sure what I want to say with this comment, but thanks for your videos Chris, they're always a treat!

@@Nicator_ I do, in a way, but instead I have a bunch of wonderful memories together with amazing people in those places, to replace it, which I prefer :)
Same here. It has been 8 months and I will leave in May but I've walked and travelled all across Japan and have seen a whole lot in Tokyo. Especially the area east of Asakusa around Sumidagawa. Haven't watched the video yet but I doubt they walked along the river there. If anyone is visiting Tokyo, go down to the riverside walkway at around Kuramae and walk your way up to Asakusa in the evening. Not only is it incredibly relaxing to walk along the river in evening, you also get beautiful views of it and Tokyo Skytree before eventually walking back up to Sensoji, which is always nicer to experience when the crowds are gone.
Pete is such an amazing human, every single time he's in a video it just makes it 1000% better. No offense to Connor or any of the other boys, but i'm part of the Pete gang.

This video was so well done and one of my favorite videos that you did. So happy you got Pete on here I can tell from the comments a lot of the viewers were loving him too! ☺️
I actually did something similar to this back in 2019!

It reminded me of when my cousins from other cities would come by São Paulo and we'd walk all over town! I know you said that it's a big walk, but it also reminded me that some parts could def be those walk around streams, very chill, but probably tiring to make yes?

I have done many walks like this, and I think it absolutely is the best thing about Tokyo.
God this makes me want to come back to Japan so bad. I went there with my sister and my mom on 2020 (before COVID got serious) for 30 days, we travelled across the whole country and averaged like 20km. walked per day! I think just walking is one of the best things you can do in Japan. We enjoyed it so much and got some of our best memories there. Best trip of my life.
ur legs mustve wished for u to feel the same torture they did walking that much omg
Pete is spot on about just how nice it is to be available to walk places versus having very little within walking distance here in America unless you're in a big city. It's very isolating so I spent most of my vacation in Tokyo just walking the streets because I had the freedom to do so.
Loved it.
Pete is awesome! He brings so much energy to the videos.
Interestingly quaint adventure compared to all the other bombastic ideas from the channel, but Chris really knows how to give it the bravado of something like Journey across Japan for even the smallest ideas. Also can't get enough of Chris and Pete, these two are the perfect adventure duo
Pete really came into his own on this video! Brilliant tour through such a diverse city!
Saw a comment like “this could be a series” as I started watching this, was doubtful but now ending this video, man I need a series, different guest, different areas, different experiences. We need this series!
This video definitely fills that void in my heart when I can't travel to Japan yet, thank you Chris 🥹🥹
Not sure why there's such a calm aesthetic to this video, the music, or the lightly overcast weather, but the vibe feels very different and I like it.
Pete seems so "full of life" and i think with chris together it makes for such an interesting and enjoyable contrast that gives the videos a certain charm. you made my evening a very pleasant one, thank you for that!
Loved this man! Honestly, when I visited Japan walking was the BEST way for me to see things. That, and my skateboard which I both recommend and don't recommend depending on how much you value your life.
I enjoy how the video captures you from the begining! The niaration from Chris is spot on and captivates you just like any 3xA movie would. I think that is one of the amazing secrets why this channel is so good. That and ofc Natsuki.
Man, I love your videos. It's helped inspire me to visit the world despite my fears and so I'm putting money aside to take a trip maybe next year. I'm happy to know theres so much more out there to see
There needs to be a chicken counter in the corner as the journey continues. Love Pete's backpack progressively getting more and more odd. This would be a really enjoyable series to watch if you decide to keep walking around cities in a day. Pete's always great for hyping you up! Lovely video.
Absolutely love this series please keep these coming. Would love to see an episode that includes all of the trash taste boys, Pete, ryotoro and of course the shining star of the entire channel Natsuki! That would be chaos in the best way. I gotta say Pete is really coming into his own. He's always been funny but his camera presence and timing is great and I think he deserves some props (his twitch channel is PremierTwo.) Chris you seemingly never run out of creative ideas for videos and shining light on Japan in a cinematic, interesting and sometimes hilarious way and your personality always shines through in the videos and in the style of editing and cinematography. You guys are top tier content.
Love the dynamic between you guys. You seem to feed off each other. Love it.
Well done boys, you two are the quintessential flâneur ie. a figure who understands the sheer enjoyability of the modern city - the exhilaration, and display, of promenading to see and be seen, which is all part of the urban character. Thank you, a lot of fun.
More videos with Pete please! His charisma is off the charts and its always a pleasure to see you two interact!!
Wonderful! Glad to see Pete getting more exposure and recognition and the Pete/Chris combo is excellent (Emma/Chris is 2nd). A series of this with guests would be fantastic. Nick for food or fitness opportunities would be fun. And of course Sharla.

Hello Chris, so nice to see that you are in such a great shape, congrats!!! Great video as usual 😊
I loved it! You two made a great atmosphere in the video, and the idea alone is cool! More please!
Pete's comedic timing is truly phenomenal 😂 I love his sense of humor
I'm going to Tokyo in April so this timing could not be better! Planning my 9 day trip now, a tough challenge
My recommendation would be to visit a different part of the city each day and really explore everything around it there.
Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Akihabara (if you like anime, also not a full day worth of exploring), Asakusa, Ginza, Minato
In the evening you take the train to a different part of the city and find a place to eat dinner there.
Then leave two days open in case you find places that really resonate with you, which you wanna visit again.
Personally I love just walking around Tokyo seeing what I can find and the best experiences I had where always spontanious ones. If you are the adventurous type of person I wouldn't recommend planning your meals too much. Just make a list of things you wanna eat, then look at the list during the day, pick something you like and find a place that offers that.
