    NOTIFICATION SQUAD: I still can't believe I was able to do this?! A huge thank you to everyone who cheered us on during the cycle! Despite the pain we went through, I think myself, Connor and the team agreed (aka. Van gang) that it was one of the most amazing journeys we've had this year and to be a part of an event that raised over $300,000 for charity made it all completely worthwhile.
    I really hope we can do something similar next year! You can find the details for the Immune Deficiency Foundation here and a final thank you to everyone who donated! primaryimmune.org/

    "Connor's wife and fellow Twitch streamer IronMouse." This made me laugh way too hard. And I bet Mousey will lose it over that remark as well.
    This was an awesome video with some amazing footage (damn good drone shots) and commentary, telling the whole story yet very well complementing Connor's streams.
    What an achievement. Not only physically by you two, but also the whole planning, filming, preperation, taking care of supplies at the stops, etc. Shoutout to Ian and Paul for this, they did an awesome job and really felt like a competent 'pit crew', as it were. Also Pete for the moral support, positive peptalks and overall Golden Retriever vibes. And let's not forget Mouse's and Pete's livestreams as well, putting even more eyes on this amazing achievement for a good cause, thus raising over 12½ times the original goal.
    The viewers who donated are to be praised for their combined efforts raising way over 300K for the IDF. The entire community involved is to be lauded, and I'm honored to be part of it.

Seeing the section with you guys riding on dirt roads on road bikes made my balls hurt in empathy, because that is MISERABLE.
    Also, amazing job on the editing and scoring as always Chris. Finally, Pete was SUCH a great addition to the crew for this trip, he cracked me the eff up (also, I didn't know the he and I are the same age!).

    • @nicbrownable
      @nicbrownable Год назад +2

      Oddly, with cycling, no prep is often as good as a lot of conditioning. Most moderately able people can cycle 100km in a day. But not many people can sit in a bike saddle for a whole day.
      If you are really fit, you ride faster and your time in the saddle is diminished. If you are moderately fit it is really about how tough your butt is. Half hearted training can leave you going into the ride saddle sore without actually increasing your ability to ride fast. If you are doing some sort of binge ride like this, general cardio/fitness using the exercise you are most used to is better prep than road miles.

      @@rachelcookie321 Basically you want your leg fully extended, but not locked 100%, on the bottom pedal when when you're sitting. A lot of people adjust their seat height based on where they are standing on the ground, which means their legs never fully extend while cycling, which tires out your legs faster and puts more stain on your knees.

    Glad to at last hear Chris's version of the ride. For so long, he was 'the guy in front' so we heard so few of his thoughts. I almost did not recognise the island of uneven-weed-filled cycle lanes and pachinko parlours; that one person who tracked you all down to bring snacks, was so kind!
