    I think thats what makes Keith Richards so cool. He was just himself , and people copied him. But in interviews you can always tell how much he loves music. Still gets excited talking about his heroes

    I have a t-shirt issue as well. I now often buy two shirts at shows...one to wear and one to save. And when I do a RUclips video, I spend up to 15 minutes deciding what shirt to wear.

    Love these videos...I always felt Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock was cool. After he played his set he just said thankyou. I hope I remember that correctly. Lemme from Motorhead absolutely cool.

    I remember in the late 80's the Converse All Star Chuck Taylors came back in fashion... I wore them playing basketball once... ONCE... the rubber soles transferred the heat of the asphalt basketball court and my feet felt like they were on fire.... CONVERSELY (pun intended) I bought a pair of Air Jordans years later (when I no longer played any basketball) and found out the hard way why they have people run onto the court to dry it off when a player dives on the floor for a loose ball... I had to pack up my car while on a road trip in the rain, ran around the car on the painted sidewalk at the motel and completely wiped out and landed on my keys in my pocket... then I had to drive 10 hours soaking wet with a bruise on my right thigh

    You rock has joined the lexicon of overused corporate cliches these days. Many people at my employer say it. It’s quickly gotten up there with the classics such as “think outside the box”, “be a good team player”, “synergies”, etc.

  • @StevenDavid-4q2
    @StevenDavid-4q2 2 месяца назад

    There are people who get on stage and just know how to attract the audience's attention, which we all think it's cool. Anthony is cool to me, because he is not a B.S.er. There is a difference in enjoying music and being captivated by somebody's presence that makes them cool. Think about going to a concert to see a band that just stands on stage and sings songs versus a band that has a stage show. Which is more cool? Add a person that has that has that persona of attracting people to them. Now that's cool!

    Video idea: Take one of your first CDs you ever bought and see if it still plays. I know there's comments going around that CDs DON'T last forever. 🤘😝🤘

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  2 месяца назад +11

      Every CD I own still plays including CDs that are 40 years old. Additionally the comments that CDs will eventually breakdown was about burned CDs which only have about a 10 year lifespan before problems can occur. Factory pressed CDs were said to at least have a 50 year lifespan. But since no CDs have been around 50 years the theory can’t be tested. However, it’s not expected that they will up and stop working when they hit 50 either.

    Cool factor’s an overrated concept. It’s the same as being trendy. Trends come and go, and some of em suck. Even if they were considered cool once.
    Being genuine’s better than being cool. Because in that sense “cool” is mixed up with smugness.

  • @Swullmark

    I look at "cool" in rock so many different ways, for example, I think the Guns N' Roses, Skid Row style are "cool", and I think about having that lifestyle and how it'd be badass for a week, then become the drizzling shits.
    Then I see the Ramones and say, hell yeah THAT is"cool" but for entirely different reasons!
    Aerosmith, Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Stones, they're all cool in their own ways which is pretty damn cool itself

    Anthony is correct - ICONIC (widely recognized and well-established, widely known and acknowledged especially for distinctive EXCELLENCE)... you can use that for something great, but Converse doesn't apply... the correct word should be RECOGNIZABLE (able to be recognized or identified from previous encounters or knowledge) which doesn't have a positive or negative connotation to it.... if you want a synonym with a negative connotation, then use INDELIBLE (something that can't be erased or removed), INFAMOUS (well known for some bad quality or deed) or NOTORIOUS (famous or well known, typically for some bad quality or deed) - but because of the Duran Duran song and Biggie Smalls, that word now has a positive connotation to it.

  • @martinwhite3559

    Slash, Chris Cornell and Dave Grohl were my definition of cool back in the day. Axl and Lars were my definition of uncool. Slash was the coolest because he did not give a shit. He just wanted to make hard rockin music. Who does not like Slash? Am I right. Tattoos were once considered uncool, and now they are cool and trendy.

  • @davidkenner-rb8go

    The only thing I have against the "cool factor" is that it's the reason The Ramones and A Tribe Called Quest are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while Jethro Tull and Blue Oyster Cult are not.
