to my knowledge it wasn't the first self loading rifle (yes there is a difference between semi automatic and self loading), however it was the first self loading rifle ever to see actuall military use
Never knew how much of a beast this weapon was until today. Was on a drought for weapons to use on medic and saw the Mondragon sitting in the corner so I picked it up. Def my fav weapon in the entire game now
Tip: dont forget to cancel reload by scrolling wheel up and down to have your weapon ready to fire when needed. Game 4 y o and people still wait for full reload
It's a great, reliable weapon! It's funny, as I remember not finding much success with the Mondragon Storm when I first unlocked it during my early days of BF1. Then again, that was before all the various buffs the Medic SLRs got to their spread and recoil, which might've impacted my experience with the Mondragon!
My go-to gun when I was playing a lot. Not just for medic but any class. My trick was managing distances really well when it came to 1-on-1 situations. So if you keep your distance from assaults, but get in close with scouts effectively, you can beat out the other person like 95% of the time.
One of my favorite Medic rifles in this game, I've tried to use and get better with the Optical, but the recoil always throws me off, even with the lowest magnification (any tips for the Optical, please?). I always end up using the Storm the most when using this gun, plus, it's Iron sights are just so good. Used to use the Sniper variant a lot, but I prefer the Selbstlader 1906/Luger rifle more for that type of variant. Also, got the Ah, Tabai skin for the Mondragón recently, so that's nice. Also on the hunt for the Von Hausen skin for the Gewehr 98, battlepack after battlepack, day after day, night after night...
Heh, my tips for the Optical? Put it down and pick up the Storm or Sniper instead! I've not used it much myself for the same reasons as you - damn visual recoil keeps throwing my shots off.
@@Foddeur I would just attempt to control the recoil by slightly moving my joystick downwards, but that seems to only be effective for me when I'm playing MW 2019. It just doesn't seem to work for me.
@@Foddeur Also, possibility for an RSC SMG video? (If you already did one then I guess don't do it then.) I want to see how you fare with the Optical >:)
@@MyPS4IsOnFirePleaseHelp I've been wanting to get an RSC SMG video up, but I've been having trouble grabbing decent footage (when I've felt like playing BF1, anyway). But the optical variant? That's just cruel!
@@Foddeur Aw, c'mon, it can't be THAT bad. I'm no expert player, and I was going to town with it on Amiens yesterday (I swear, it's recoil was exactly the same as the Factory's when I was using it that day, guess I was just in the zone.),but if you're only gonna do the Factory, then all right.
I think it depends on the range. If they're up pretty close, then I can afford to spam fire. But if they're far off, then I try to take a little time with my shots, given how BF1's Medic SLRs have spread penalties if you try and spam fire them!
0:47 You can faintly hear a rare voiceline after that kill!
"GREAT SHOT, SON!"
Im mexican and im proud of this by the first semi automatic rifle made in history :)

You realize it was designed and manufactured OUTSIDE Mexico, right?
I love how you can hear other soldiers around you say that you made a nice shot when you kill from far away
Mondragon is a beast, always a good choice

Strong, clean sights, manageable recoil, 10 rounds of fun... the Mondragon is really versatile!
Porfirio Diaz estaria orgulloso de ti.

A Mexican Revolution Gun of the Great War
To think that in real life nobody wanted this weapon. Germany missed a big opportunity to mass produce an excellent firearm made to their specs.
it wasn't the best, it still had flaws which is why it wasn't continued
Beautiful weapon… with such powerfull sound, let you feel really strong!🤩
This gun really suits bayonets
Another amazing gun. So much fun. The irons in BF1 are so good. Other sights rarely compare
I don’t like the iron sights on the Mondragón
Still my favorite gun tho
@@germany2573 i feel you. I always treated it as a sniper that works at all ranges. Quality gun.
My favorite rifle (Mondragon Storm) in Battlefield 1, I just love it. Only have 10 bullets and slow upload but very stable and bulletproof rifle
My favorite rifle so far. I was struggling to get kills with the rigotti and gave this a try once I unlocked it; can't get my hands off it ever since
Yeah the Mondragon Storm has always been a popular medic rifle choice after playing with the C-R for a while!

"Take that first aid!"
"Looks like somebody needs some 57mm Mauser aspirin!"

this is better than selbstlader because of good 3 shot range
My favorite weapon as the medic class, I had like 38 battle stars with that thing lmao

dude perfect video loved it
I used this over the somewhat overused 1907SL when I was a beginner
Dam I wish I can play this good is much easier on PC then console. Very accurate!
