Dude in my chess club spent the better part of a year telling me I'd be so good if I stopped gambitting. My mindset was "I just whooped you three times straight in the fajarowicz I don't need your advice." Lo and behold I finally started playing more solidly and jumped almost 300 rating points lol
Actually there are a lot of beginners who memorized a few fixed openings but don't really know how to think and play chess. These dubious gambits more often than not crush such opponents. Of course I'm talking about the 1500-1800 elo range but many players are lumped in there
I also lost a lot of Games by trying out your Gambits, but hey it was fun and it was a different Chess. No one should Complain about interesting Content
@@amaryllis0 As a French player I feel like the Orthoschnapp gets me far out of my comfort zone. I actually play it against the French as well and I would 100% recomend it.
I listen to this guy talking calmly, and then suddenly that high pitch voice crashes my inner peace. I suddenly jump from my chair with wide open eyes saying "What?? What happened?? Who came in?? Where?? When??" 😯😯😯
i feel like getting good at a complex skill like chess is more about learning what's bad and why it's bad, instinctively. what's left over is what's (potentially) good, by definition. books try to show you what's good, but only experience shows you what's bad, usually, in a way that sticks with you.
Eric be like, I didn't look at the video or the big red crossed out circle saying NOOOOOO, but if the vampire chicken put it up it must be good. It's ok man, nobody listens to me either. 🤣
I can't believe this. I played this by accident yesterday. Something cosmic must have misaligned in the world. And yes, I was crushed by an inferior player.
2:00 Jonathan "here is the best opening" switch to Eric Rosen " the vampire chicken opening ..." that's how you know you're in the right place 5 seconds later oh, that's Jonathan's alter ego. sigh ... there goes my punch line just FYI: everyone here knows that you don't need to twist Eric's arm to play dubious gambits. he will pay you for the privilege of playing such openings.
When are you going to absolutely not recommend the Cruciferous Defense vs 1 d4 and the Orthoschnapp ? People need to know that they must categorically avoid playing it...
Wow! This opening must be fire if Jonathan is willing to show it on his main channel. I'm going to rush out and try it right now!
New opening ! Can't wait to try it !!! :)
Well I wasn't going to play it but now I'm definitely going to play it.
Wow! What is this dubious gambit and how can I start playing it immediately?!
Lost 500 points playing this opening! Thanks mr schrantz!!! ;D
Keep trying
Lol I was up at 1 AM watching Eric’s stream and remember thinking “wait didn’t Schrantz say this one is actually awful”
I'm a man of my own actions and dont need nobody to tell me what to and what not to do. And one thing i'm sure of: That looks like a hell'a fun!
This is the closest RUclips chess drama I’ve seen next to Caruana and Rosen’s dispute
Loud and clear, Jonathan! My new main opening as Black!
I'm not going to watch this, I'll end up trying it without thinking...

the fact that you get joy from terrible openings makes me happy. it's so endearing and funny! lol
This opening finally helped me reach rank 100!

There are some fairly solid gambits, like the Urusov, Nakhmanson, and Orthoschnapp

I can't wait to try out the Schrantz variation of the Jaenisch gambit!
This video reminded me of the whole “I beat you, I ban you” incident… lulz. this is why we can’t have nice things around here.
"Do NOT play this"
Erik, "mmm interesting..."

If its good enough for Eric to lose with its good enough for me to lose with!
I feel inspired.
Your little tykes b ball hoop is reminiscent of elf on a shelf... No matter where you record, there it is.
Am pretty sure it is his!
I can't believe this. I played this by accident yesterday. Something cosmic must have misaligned in the world. And yes, I was crushed by an inferior player.
I will totally play it
Its like a double Grob?
WINNING
The Buddha would never pray and then shake his head.........hahahahha.
until you actually showed a board position in that intro I thought wow he's going really hard with this smack talk about the stafford
Jonathan -- you owe Eric something from Insomnia Cookies and a fresh Chai Latte. You are shameless. :)
Black gave up a bishop, not a pawn!
Hm, I see I must play it now.
2:00
Jonathan "here is the best opening"
switch to Eric Rosen
" the vampire chicken opening ..."
that's how you know you're in the right place

where can I find that toy basketball hoop?
Accelerated Benko
That ending position is not a checkmate, sir
All gambits are fun, play them.
I legit played this the other day because I remember seeing it somewhere and it being funny. I got trashed.
No point to it whatsoever? Sign me up.
Do not play this. Yeah, I'm totally playing it.
Sorry, I didn't understand... do you want me to play this OTB? Ok! 'll do it
13:50 a lot of what now?
a gentleman's apology for a terrible gambit? it's what Jerome would have wanted.
Dude, maybe just 2 RedBulls before recording?
checkmate only after Nh3 Rxh3 ;-) Those videoa are kind of "ring movie" : dont watch them...and Jonathan you are doomed because you read that comment.
If you (also) wanne lose all your rating points, please subscribe LOL
