I have just spent a very enjoyable week watching all the videos on your channel from the beginning. It has helped cope with the excessive amount of rain we have been experiencing here in the rain forest mountains in northern Costa Rica! You have truly built a beautiful layout, that brings back lots of memories of England in the 50’s and 60’s. I haven’t lived there since 1989, so i have really enjoyed reliving memories travelling back and forth to boarding school on the train.
Not much done.... thanks for sharing Andy, wish i could get as much done to mine (but i did get movement after 3.5 years last weekend!!) I always smile when my phone pings me a notification of your updates. Engine shed is a good idea, lovely kit. Dug my old one out to put on jnrs layout we are making together, can be modified in so many ways. The tunnel heading to lower access looks good too now. Id be inclined to have the new area youve mocked up with the signal box as countryside l,d cover it in trees and make a forest area Thanks again for taking the time to share
@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt once I get further, I'll invite you down to come see in flesh. I was hoping to get it all wired up by end if month but work n family life got in the way
Enjoyed your update Andy, so thanks for sharing and can clearly see the progress, if you install the small engine shed could you reduce or modify the coaling stage. Have a wonderful holiday, regards Barry.
Great video, good to see the progress and you've done a fantastic job of the good yard! your station platforms look great, have you done a video on how you achieved the look?
At the start of the video the two white patches outside the brewery looked just like reflective puddles! Perhaps introducing these rarely modelled features could add a surprising touch of realism.
The old airfix shed is full of detail in a small space. The coal Staithe on the other hand is more the type used by coal merchants beside a siding so could be placed anywhere. Coaling a loco from ground level is next to impossible if you've ever tried it
Relax, look forward to your holiday and just run some trains! Think the engine shed idea would work as it gives that area a sense of purpose. The coaling stage would work as you have plenty of space on your layout. Will be good to see the good old Airfix/Dapol engine shed again. Takes me back to when I was a kid in the 1960s and saving up pocket money to go to the local model shop to buy a kit!
Enjoy your break. I think it's time for a layout review. The Station looks magnificent. Not sure about the engine shed plan, great work with the ground undulation. I think a lot of modellers go for to much in small spaces. Thanks again for sharing.
Your “not much done” is my “epic progress” … very impressive indeed. Thank you for sharing with us all. 🙏
Ha. Thank you so much ☺️

Thanks very much for the kind comments. Sounds far more exotic than Lincolnshire, England! Kind regards, Andy
Layout is coming along very nicely.😊
Thank you ☺️
Enjoy your holiday. Remember this wonderful hobby of model railways is exactly that - a Hobby. Enjoy the journey.
Thank you. You’re very right 👍
Nice to see your train running. Have a good holiday. 👍👍🙏
Cheers. Will do 👍

Thank very much sharing your ideas. I agree a countryside setting would look better. Great to hear you’ve been making some progress. Take care, Andy

@briansewell7263 that would be great. There’s always something that needs doing around the house!

Thanks. The station platforms were the first structure I attempted before my granddaughter convinced me share my progress!

I’ll watch it again to see. Thanks for the idea 👍
Enjoy your break Andy. Chris
Cheers Chris 👍

Thank you. That’s really good to know 👍

Thank you very much ☺️
Wow Andy you deserve a Holiday all the work you have done it's all looking superb. Best wishes for your holiday. Take care Richard
Thanks Richard 😊

I like the idea of a short engine shed, and I think you could still keep that coaling stage
Brilliant. Thank you 😊

Thanks very much. Partly the reason I opted for a cheap one! - if it doesn’t look right then not too much harm done. Take care, Andy
Good update video on the channel keep up the good video on layout thanks lee
Thanks Lee. Take care, Andy 👍
Have a great holiday Andy
Thanks very much 👍
at the junction of the goods yard to the main line, shouldn't there be a signal? also, where the new incline joins the main line?
Hi, yes. You’ve probably noticed there’s no signalling at all yet in the railway. That’s a ‘job’ down the line to install all around the layout! 👍
@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt just wondered, have a great holiday.
