patrik is one of the best drummer ever in rock n roll history who cares about his technic and all that shit that's for fuckin jazz shit this is fookin pure rock n roll
I must say... Loved whatever pedals and amp he was using during the Magic Potion Live era... Really nailed their soulful sound. This song hands down belongs to Pat though, he really drives this song and really creates the core foundation for Dan to splat his fuzziness all over it lol!
I agree, If I recall correctly he was using two amps, a marshall and a fender, a green russian muff and of course the all -tube, real tape echo from fulltone. I saw them live in the magic potion tour, I was impressed how much sound came out of that "SG" which is an ibanez.
Yea that is his current rig as of right now lol.. But I really do wonder what he was using during this era lol. I believe that he might of still been using a Fender Deville or maybe something else... Looks like maybe an Ampeg here or maybe something else... His Fulltone really does shine through here though - that extra gain on the unit really kills it and melds well with his muff here... Or maybe it was his Fulltone Soulbender still lol?
He was using a custom built tweed amplifier. Hoof Fuzz, Green Russian and Jordan Bosstone rehoused. Fulltone tape echo, tr2 most likely and SG of course.
Marshall and a blackface both dined, the Marshall is dry and the fender has the echoplex set to sort delays and reverb, a green Russian big muff, univiox fy6 and fy2.a shin ei fuzz wha,set to fuzz,no wha. no hoof (not yet!) a hoof is basically a big muff but with two germanium transistors on the second clipping stage and the output stage!
This performance is so honest and what the black keys are all about. Good for them for being able to go on tour and make some dough this go around. I was skeptical of their interviews lately but at the end of the day they earned it.
@thestainisgone485 there was no desperation in that statement. it's rather obvious that majority of good looking women don't listen to old black keys. at least where i'm from. as far as the whole self-pitying aspect you drew from my comment. i dont feel sorry for anyone but whoever is missing out on this good music.
Back when they were hungry.
I mean I know bands change and evolve but I miss the old dirty sound.
@Ray Baker the fact that it looks like he's playing without a pick makes it even cooler/dirtier! on a 3 humbuck guitar, that's a special sound
Then go listen old albums
The further they get away from the blues the worse!
@@MarvDawk tbf dropout boogie is pretty blusy , good album
@@gianlbonelli7080true man , they did it! And it’s still them!
Holy shit what a display of drumming
Man he beats the shit out of those drums!
man I dig this "garage band" style where the drum is 50%, guitar 40% and voice 10% of the sound volume :-)
patrik is one of the best drummer ever in rock n roll history
who cares about his technic and all that shit
that's for fuckin jazz shit
this is fookin pure rock n roll
God all mighty……. Explosive, Full force, raw, exhausted
Regards from the Netherlands
I was at this show. It was packed TIGHT. No room to move. Liked the better then. It was in your face, dangerous, raw......loved it
They are not smiling because they are in awe of these musicians who gave them hope in music again.

@@joshbeer414 no the tweed amps from victory came later,. for small performances like this it might be a deville!
Back then when they didn't compromise
Such a gem
such a raw, unfiltered sound. I love it
If I get real rich, I will get that SG, if it is available. My favorite album came through that. Two guys pure rock n roll, Just great.

You generally get told to stay still so as not to mess with the sound or cameras at live recording gigs
8 people aren't free
SG custom (Ibanez)
How do you thumbs down this?
out of the 11,327 people who like this vid there's bound to be one cool chick. why can't i meet a chick with a good taste in music
@pulpero666 totalmente de acuerdo, a ver cuando se dejan caer por nuestro pais!
03:10 Pat did that with his foot
Anyone know the scale he is soloing over?
@ThaNatural777 nah, i was referring to the self pitying, desperate but still pretentious mindset those comments betray.
@thestainisgone485 yeh im sure that's why. cus of my youtube comments
it's mostly just a pentatonic c scale.
it's ibanez i think
do you remeber his pedal and amp set up?
La cara de la morra
Why arent they jumping!?
God. I'd find it very hard to stand in that store and not dance like fuckin crazy.
Please, what kind of guitar is that?
It is a Gibson SGS3.
that was some john bonham shit
Guy at 3:02 does not look happy. Actually he looks like he may need to go to the bathroom. Patrick and Dan would have allowed it
@ThaNatural777 cause you post angsty comments on youtube
Are you serious???
Man he isn't using pick lol
