I took my son to see these guys back when they were just getting started at a little venue in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was to young to get in by himself self. I was sure glad I took him.I’ve been impressed every since. He now has his own band in Nashville called “Mountains Like Wax”.
iv always known of them and heard the more popular tunes over the years. i watched the joe rogan episode (twice) and have been obsessed with them over the past week. listened to el camino 1000 times and bought a few of they're albums on cd including the first 2. its been a long time since i felt the spark of finding a new band and i think getting to know they're personalities first really helped. they seem like such genuine people and cant wait for more episode with them on JRE
been a fan since the early days and kind of lost interest until the new album came out - which I really enjoyed. Their appearance on JRE (which I also watched twice) just sent me back into obsessive mode with this band. Great performance here!
yeah oi, call it a omen or whatever, but i have always loved the black keys since the el camino days, an album i had to buy twice sadly. watched the joe rogan podcast with them, watched it again like 2 days later and been smashing out nothing but the black keys and i love the new album lets rock, as a metal head i can appreciate how hard the guitars actually are on that album, love the black keys truly is an amazing band.

May not need to be complex but technically sound. Ringo is a great example of this. A drummer should, as an example, be able to hit a rim shot on command. Having said that I do appreciate the attitude he brings.
These drum parts are not that simple, especially considering his skill in playing them. He was perfect all the way. And I love his sound. Way too many rock and metal bands destroy their drummer's effort entirely with bad sound and mixing. Not the case here.

I wish I could get this version of "I'll be Your Man." It's really nice. I like version from the Big Come Up, but the one from this set has a really pretty sound to it.

Yes. They should be ashamed that they are sitting there respectively, watching an amazing band play. You're right, Ray. They should be screaming over the music.
Their energy and emotion changed so much (for the better) once they started playing with just the two of them. Dan seemed to be just going through the motions before that.
This. I was fortunate to see them live several times between Thickfreakness and Magic Potion era when it was just the two of them, somehow there's just more energy and less muddled sound with two just two dudes stomping out that blusey grit.
Most overlooked band of the last 20 years constantly puts out great music n don’t really get the credit they deserve
