I've said this before, but Season 1 is almost a false set-up. It sets up a world & characters that center around Ned, and ends by taking OUT Ned. So Season 2 is a secret pilot season. It's setting up how the world and characters must now carry on without Ned Stark being the nucleus. So there's a lot of set-up here for later seasons that are more intense.

It's 100% deliberately playing into the reader/audience's understanding of the archetype - we think _ok, got it. these are the good guys, those are the bad guys_ - which is specifically necessary to do in order to make the character movement going forward that much more meaningful. With all the new hardcore regulations on the salary cap and the way too extreme penalties, warriors gotta hold onto all those young guys but it gives the fan base a lot of hope for post Curry era

In the books Jaime doesn't murder his cousin. He escapes at this point thanks to the plot Tyrion prepared, as we wasn't as heavily guarded, after giving word he wouldn't escape he was kept in normal chambers under house arrest. Only after this escape he was sent to the dungeons. God the show is stupid sometimes. Also, this "saying" Cersei brings up about the Targeryans? That everytime a Targeryans are born, the gods flip a coin to see if it will be great or mad? Well first of all, that's not a saying. In the books it was a joke King Jaehaerys II (Daenerys's grandfather) told Ser Barristan once. Second of all, only a few Targareyans in history could be called mad, like 2-4.

And thinks of Sansa. Also, she is older than him (around 18 yo) and knows he is an innocent and she can push his buttons. God Jamie throwing Ned’s “bastard” in Cat’s face is so twisted and tragic. It’s so good in the moment, he’s so slimy and deviant but considering what happens to her and what is revealed much later it is sooooo tragic she x_x never knowing that Ned was always THE most honorable man in history 😭

attempt 8 to ask you guys to watch the official Histories and Lore, its Officially voiced by the shows actors/actresses and where made to give context without any spoilers to a lot of the big events and houses that are difficult to show in limeted runtime. huuuuuge recomand. each season has one and can be watched at the end of each season [i personaly recomand watching each after eppisode 4 of the each season as it gived more story to some of the characters making their screenstime more impactfull.]

In the books Jaime doesn't murder his cousin. He escapes at this point thanks to the plot Tyrion prepared, as we wasn't as heavily guarded, after giving word he wouldn't escape he was kept in normal chambers under house arrest. Only after this escape he was sent to the dungeons. God the show is stupid sometimes.
Also, this "saying" Cersei brings up about the Targeryans? That everytime a Targeryans are born, the gods flip a coin to see if it will be great or mad? Well first of all, that's not a saying. In the books it was a joke King Jaehaerys II (Daenerys's grandfather) told Ser Barristan once. Second of all, only a few Targareyans in history could be called mad, like 2-4.
