You’d think Tywin is being kind to Arya by offering her his food, but then you realize this coldly pragmatic man thinks he just had an assassination attempt against his life. So he offers this child his food. I think he’s amused by her. But at the same time …he’s Tywin Lannister.
Lindsay's reference to Larry Darryl and Darryl from the old Bob Newhart show was brilliant. Love the reactions so far. Can't wait for you to watch the rest of the show.
I think Tywin and Arya's relationship works so well because she's the sort of person he'd always hoped to father. Clever, self-reliant, dutiful, willing to listen, gutsy.
I love love love, how Ashley and Linsay dechipered the subtext to connect of the many dialogue scenes thoughtout the episodes. -------- Jamie and Catlyn, Tywin and Aria. Tyrion and Cersie, Sansa and Cersei, Ygritte and Jon Snow. --------- Subtext laden dialogue is what makes GOT one of the best written books and screenplays of all time.
When Ashley disected the dialogue with Jamie and Catlyn it was quite impressive. ------ Those lines about honorable Ned Stark made her Ashley reassess the perspectives taking place thoughtout the show. Love it. Great reaction.
Ygritte is correct - the Wildlings and the Notherners have more in common then they have foffermces. They worship the same old gods, they’re both tough enough to withstand brutal winters, and both have contempt for soft Southerners.
one of the rare moments in which cersei acted like a normal person. as for joffrey, it is obvious that he took nothing from his father, but too much from his mother!
I love your reactions, they are so funny!! How Stefani can sit stone faced while Ashley and Lindsay go off is totally amazing!!! I'm enjoying this journey with you ladies!
Theon father started a rebellion by burning the Lannister fleet and then was brought down by everyone. Basically united the lannisters, starks, baratheons, martells and Tyrells
Amory Lorch was the one killed by Jaquen, and he's not kin to Tywin, he just guard or soldier. He's the leading the group of men who attacked Yoren, and he's the one that killed Yoren.😊
Also according to the books he killed princess Raenys Targaryen in the sack of King's landing at Robert's rebellion. He wasn't a simple soldier, he was a lord in westerlands.
He's a bit more than that: he's SER Armory Lorch, an actual knight from a noble family, although he's a close runner up to Gregor Clegane for the title of worst knight ever.
Tywin admires strength, intelligence and courage. That's why he likes Arya so much. Ironic, even though he is completely different than Ned, if hypothetically, Arya was his daughter and wanted to fight and train with swords, he'd probably have admired that immensely and allowed her to do so. That is one of the interesting things about GOT even characters who you think may have nothing in common, there is a commonality of strong respect for those with substance, even if they may be an enemy.
Tywin is not like Joffrey or Cersie if he had found out that she is Arya he would never killed her rather than kept her and used her to negotiate with Robb because she was valuable prisoner
That’s true and it stretches believability that Tywin didn’t figure out who Arya was. He deduced she was a northerner and that she was of noble birth. He also knows that Arya Stark is unaccounted for. Tywin should have put this together (how many 10 year old northern high born girls could be wandering out the South?). But the show deviated from the books just by having Arya and Tywin even meet. If they had Tywin unmask her and take her prisoner that would have really messed up the storyline
@@andrewward5891 He doesn't know Arya is missing, no. Pretty sure the King's Landing crew is a little too scared to tell him just yet. So he has no reason to think she is Arya.

FYI Amory Loche isn't a relative of the Lannisters - but he is one of their 'bannermen' (sworn knights/lords) and is one of Tywin's two favoured 'attack dogs' that he uses to do his dirty work (the other being Gregor Clegane 'The Mountain').
Also regarding Shaggydog - its suspected its a little wordplay joke from GRR Martin, referencing a "Shaggydog story" aka a pointless dubious tale that leads nowhere.
Night Court, right? Or was it Newhart? Or both? I can't remember. But I DO remember "I'm Larry, and this is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl." I definitely remember that.
Larry, Darryl, and Darryl are from New Hart, funny story I have a friend that has two brothers named Joseph and I tease him about that all the time (his dad had a baby he did not know about till the mom dropped Joseph off and left. My friends dad was married for two years and two children later one being Joseph.)
Not that it's important, but the character who couldn't read, Tywin's relative and Arya's 2nd kill were 3 different characters. The mountain was the guy who couldn't read, kind of confusing because they recast his character for thus season (and a couple more times). The character who was killed was Amory Lorch, who lead the attack against Yoren and the Night's Watch recruits with Arya. He plays a bigger role in the books but is relatively insignificant in the show. And Tywins cousin or whatever was just a random character on his war counsel.
This theory about Jon not being Ned's son makes no sense. Why would Ned make everyone believe (including his own wife) that he is the father of the bastard if he wasn't?
Always loved the Tywin and Arya interactions. Just to clarify: if Tywin knew who she really was, he wouldn't have her killed. She would be a prisoner, certainly. But I imagine Tywin would have her cleaned up and kept in fairly good conditions.
