    Had a place there for 10 years. Used to race cross country there back in the NORBA days (early to mid '90's). Loved the riding there. Grizzly Manor is the BEST food in Big Bear.... I get the Grizzly Bear or the Mess, definitely worth the wait. Miss Big Bear a lot. If you're up for the Death Ride.... start in Mountain Home Village down off the 38 and ride up through Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks and up to Summit House for lunch and then the ride back down...... 52 miles 8000 feet of climbing....all off road.

    This video has me really stoked to ride Snow Summit. I just moved to LA last year and have been hitting Skypark a lot. Bought a lift ticket for last Monday and unfortunately broke my collarbone at Skypark last Saturday, just 2 days before tasting the glory of Snow Summit. Sucks, but videos like these keep me stoked

    Thank, lads. I'll be in LA for five weeks this summer and can't wait to get up to Big Bear. In the video, you mention some other places in the greater LA basin. Any other locations you can recommend? I'll be on my Geometron, so will do both DH and some (moderate) pedalling (if forced). Haha. Anyway, any help appreciated.

    Was there about a month ago or the first time, and I’ll be back next Friday. Looking forward to riding those trails again now that their in my head a little bit, and I’m not riding blind 🤘🏽

      Second time always the best time at a park!

    Drew, it sounds like you need to explore the trail network outside of the bike park that's accessible from the lift. Fall Line for example is one of my favorite trails up there, but it's not technically in the park. It's rough and natural, but note that it will have a lot more pedaling than trails in the park.

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  5 лет назад +2

      We’ve never heard of these trails you speak of and definitely didn’t ride them when visiting because they aren’t a sanctioned part of the park. Haha 🤓

    • @mtb_alan
      @mtb_alan 5 лет назад +1

      @@TheLoamWolf Hey! Fall Line is sanctioned. I believe it's also managed by the park...? It is included in their trail map. 👍🏽

      Imagine the backlash and upset people if we made public our knowledge or approval of any such trails we actaually love to ride. 😜

    Dig the review! You nailed it with your comment about having access to jumps to work on getting air. What did y'all think about the trails off the back side like Fall Line? Too bad 10-ply wasn't open when you were up. 🤘🏽

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  5 лет назад

      Yeah we missed 10-ply by just a few weeks! Can’t wait to ride it though. Those back trails are definitely fun too, they just aren’t a sanctioned part of the bike park.

      @@TheLoamWolf they are apart of the adopt of trail program. Fall line is excellent plumbers is great and cabin 89 definitely more xc trails that are worth looking at next time you come through.

    Where can I camp for free

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  5 лет назад +1

      There’s lots and lots of free camp sites in the area. Some allow fires, but most don’t. Your limiting factor will be your vehicle as some are true off road areas. Most are just dirt road access. Check out freecampsites.net for pins and spot descriptions!
