yeah, i grew up in bc also - I'm older (late 30's now) - but used to run raked long travel hardtails with 24" rear wheels, v-brakes and relatively narrow bars made it very easy to ride skinnies back in the day - low cg, you could manual no problem and didn't have to worry about smashing your discs or treeing a bar... good times.
@@jcarlson2727 I once had a bike and tried to ride across a fallen tree right beside the river and it didn't work so well for me..

This is where I grew up. You'd find a friend whos mom would drive and you'd go to Santa's Village and spend the day there. And that was without the newly added bike trails. Im glad SV has made a comeback!
Santa's Village has been there since I was a kid, back in the early 80s. I never went, but the ads were on Southern California television all the way up through high school for me. I had no idea they'd added trails there. That's pretty awesome, and I'm glad they kept the theme going as well.
I mean: The GoPro does an *extremely good* job in stabilizing.

I've been riding bicycles all my life. (Mostly as a commuter between college and work with Beach Cruiser bicycles.) And I can just feel the adrenaline and breath the summer air those riders are experiencing.

If you’re still near LA you need to ride some of the “secret” single tracks around big bear. The greatest single track in the world is if you turn left off skyline after the big rocks. I fly out from London just to ride it.

I can’t even do a simple trail that goes down a hill, then back up another hill XD. Right when the downhill went flat my bike went sideways and I flew into the sand with sand in my eyes and mouth. Then there’s this guy, traveling the world and doing these insane mountain bike paths and hitting jumps without falling once!

I grew up in that area and I think my parents used to take me there in the mid-70s long before it was a mountain bike park. It was called Santa's Village back then. I had completely forgotten it but the shot of the buildings unleashed a stream of memories. I think they had some reindeer (caribou) back then too. Thanks for posting this.

His vocab is hilarious, when I ride or train we use completely different words, I've never heard of a bridge called a skinny
theres a difference. skinnies are the stuff thats really thin and challenging. but some people call it other things
I love how Organic this "Comet" trail looks like. Every wood part is uneven and unreagular. :)
Okay 2 things:
1. Montain bikins seems cool as hell and seeing this reaaaaaally makes me want to go down one of the tracks. Arrow seems like the most fun tho.
2. GoPros have gotten so good, I honestly cannot believe it. Like it has NO RIGHT to be this stable with such bumpy roads and so much movement. Incredible.
I usually watch something different but I’m not joking this was the most exhilarating thing I’ve ever watched... do you even hit your brakes going around those turns man. And the times when you’re going so fast that you can go along those practically horizontal things. 😂

I live 30 minutes from this place, it's freaking AWESOME 👍 it's worth the price, just make sure to come by when there's no holiday or weekend days because it gets full real quick. You gotta take the 18 highway, pass crestline town, lake Arrowhead and running springs. After going through those towns you can't miss the skypark! Btw, take the 18 highway all the way.

Well, sky park is uphill from where I live.
So glad to see San Bernadino Mountain's "Santa's Village" found something to revive it. Last time I was there was over thirty years ago, and it was feeling very sad.
it is really fun now for the whole family.
