Hi there and thanks for the informative video! I'm just getting back into biking, getting back in shape, and I want to do the loop around Stone Mountain. I'm looking for the amount of ELEVATION GAIN on that loop road. How much up and down for my developing last muscles to overcome? Thanks!

Definitely different based on the direction you go and which loop. There's an inner and outer loop.
I usually do the inner loop clockwise which is about 5 miles and 350 ft up. The outer loop clockwise is 7 miles and about 550 ft up. Hope that helps!

I live almost on the trail and I’ve taken it multiple times. Where is the off-road section?!?!?

@Joe Borrillo This trail is so nice! The off-road section really starts around Erskine Rd at Reilly Ln. There's a mini single track entrance into the woods. In this video, we started at E Ponce de Leon Ave at Hambrick Rd. The part where you cross the railroad track!!

@@TheJapaneseCyclist ah! I looked on Google Maps! There it is! Next time I go that way I’m going to take it the whole way. Thanks!

How much of the trail is on the road with no bike lane, how much of it is a bike lane and how much is greenway?

      Hey! Thanks for the comment/question!
I'd say majority of the route has a dedicated trail next to/split from the road. Crosswalks and driveways do exist on the trail though.
I'd say the beginning section from Atlanta has a little bit of road. From end of Freedom Park to DeKalb Ave is on road without a bike lane. That's really the only long stretch of road without a bike lane. The very very end where you get to Stone Mountain is also no bike lane. I recommend taking the side neighborhood roads instead! Let me know if you have any questions!

The one thing you failed to mention is the high crime rate in Stone Mountain. I would add a bullet proof vest to your riding gear to ride that area.
