The irony is that I'm fairly sure that was Burton-in-Kendal or Milnthorpe (there's not many villages it could have been and they show a satellite image of Burton straight after) Both are pretty desirable villages - not necessarily loaded but far from the worst places in Cumbria let alone the country...
5km band for platinum? Setting it nice and easy for yourselves. Pity you're not leaving much space for improvement. Seems like a bit of a cop out guys.
@@JohnPretty1 for plat you would expect people to have an offroad mountain bike and to throw the bike over hedges. cycling along roads isn't really much of a challenge at all

Totally agree, I think we have found your blind spot. The houses you label as skanky are pretty typical of many houses your viewers live in. Really tone deaf comments, do better
I was about to comment something very similar, I'm fairly well off in my life at the moment but I grew up poor, single mum, not a very nice house etc... It's not a choice haha It's really not on pissing on people because they happened to born to the right family.

Slow down and tell a story. A 5K across line really gives you a lot of leeway and this does not feel like much of a challenge. Maybe narrow it down. It would also be interesting to have some challenges or competition in this format.
Good stuff! You've reminded me of Nick Crane's book two degrees west, which is the same concept except that he walks south through England following his longitude without deviating more than 0.5 degrees.
I don't know about this one. It seems you guys get to make up how many thousands of yards is a perfect run. Seems like that might be based on whatever course you found to be the best.

I actually just completed a cycling tour through the whole of Switzerland today, sadly not in a straight line at all, wanted to visit all the most beautiful cities haha 450km in 2 1/2 days
nice try and lots of effort for sure, but it doesn't feel like a straight line mission with that big zone. I get it, how else would you do it with a bike, but still. sorry, going by foot is cooler.

Nah, doing a roly poly across Westminster...in a straight line

If they didn't want to live in that house they should just ask daddy to buy them a bigger, nicer one.

I'd second that for the accomodation options too - that first stop looked interesting
You think they have time for that? This is a challenge video, not a culinary programme. Plus I hate the word "eatery"!
Maybe in the less touristy places
Nah, they're keeping it cheap and can't stop for a sit down meal in each town to show the ambience.
It's the lake district. It'd be like £10 a sandwich anywhere else!
When straight line missions become big, we should get Brian Blessed to hand out the awards.

Great, interesting, crazy with "unpreparation".
Please do longer videos, these 10 min videos are way too short fellas
Great video, please be safe!!! This video proves how much drivers can be utter arseholes to cyclists. Your biggest danger is them, not the terrain!
2500 metres seems a bit too big to be considered platinum. I'd say a mile max would be platinum
